I think at the beginning of the last season before Michael got out Sarah was living with her grandparents. I don't think her parents are around (idk if they're deceased or just out of the picture) but she's only mentioned grandparents before, I think she said they raised her. Totally agree re: Megan, it's kind of sick and really getting annoying.

I think so but I'm guessing maybe they don't get along, otherwise I can't see why she wouldn't be living with her in the first place.

I think she's using him to be able to practice in the US. She believes that she can be a rich physician here, she said in a previous episode that as a family physician in Indonesia she didn't make much so I'm thinking she thinks it will be milk and honey for her here as a doctor. She could do very well but it is a very difficult and long road for foreign MDs here.

She would have to take her boards and likely match to and complete a residency before she could practice here. It would be a long process. I'm currently in medical school but I know many foreign medical grads who have gone through the process and a few have made it but many have been unsuccessful, they usually end up working in a lab or clinical research, which isn't a bad career, just hard to do outside of a city/research university.
