There's really absolutely nothing to like about this show right now, absolutely nothing. I don't even know why I even waste my time with this show at this point. Sorry, just felt the need to vent here.

But, you're forgetting all the WONDERFUL other characters and plotlines:

Chuckling Abe and Shrieking Paulina... oh that's right, they suck.

The EPIC romance of Wendy and Tripp ..... oh, that's right, they're as exciting as watching a tennis match between two people who've never played before.

The OTHER epic romance of Jada and Rafe.... oh, that's right, the show doesn't have even a vague clue as to what to do with these two.

The edge of your seat plot of baby switch/DNA shenanigans number 847.... oh, that's right, we all know how this is going to end (I'm guessing Christmas miracle)  and in the meantime there's all the many times Sloan looks panicked and you're supposed to think this stupidity is finally going to be over but, yet again, it isn't.

The many loves of Stephanie....  oh, that's right she has no personality and the only thing she's really done is destroy Chad.

Holly lusting after Johnny.... oh, that's right this REALLY sucks.

When Ava and Harris are the most interesting thing going on right now - you may have a point.

This I agree with but Xander did gaslight Sarah when she rightfully questioned what happened with Susan etc.

I kind of get your point, but Xander let Susan go.  At that point it was on her that she supposedly got "killed".  Sarah should have rightfully given Xander grief for kidnapping Susan but the whole "I can't trust him around my baby because he's responsible for Susan's death" thing was REALLY contrived.  And somehow, "he's not so bad because Susan magically turned up alive" - meaning Sarah now CAN trust him around her baby -  is just really stupid.  Nothing in their relationship (apart or together) feels earned.

Another round of Xander/Sarah, for fuck's sake. They're reaching Eric/Nicole levels.

Yes, I don't mind them together - but if they're going to break them up, at least have it be for a decent reason - not because Sarah lets major things slide and then gets a bug up her butt about something minor and stupid.   Also, I would appreciate it if their reconciliation was earned - not endless cycles of Sarah telling Xander how awful he is and how she will NEVER trust him only to have her back with him for no reason I can see.

Lol: Flynn Industries is the name of the shell company that Everett is investigating.  I wonder if Billy Flynn had any in-put into that name? :)

So once again, Stephanie will be the poor put upon person who has some man trying to control her.  This could be a good plot if Stephanie wasn't just so damn dull that I can't help but wonder why all they men go to such lengths to protect their interest in her.

  5. A week later and it's STILL Thanksgiving?  I suppose next week is Christmas.

I'm guessing by the activity on this board, that everyone else is as bored with the Konstantin/Theresa inheritance swap and baby swap stories as I am.   I'm really wondering what the writers will come up with since the only other plotlines they have going - Chuckling Abe reuniting with Paulina, the trials of Stephanie's love life, and Holly mooning around over Johnny are all equally dull if not more so.

  6. I was glad Steve had the Salem brain today, but why didn't he tell Maggie that Konstantin was lying about him and Victor even being friends BEFORE he brought up the kidnapping?  That would cast a LOT more doubt on him.

Hopefully this stupid story is going to be over soon.  Since they've now completely destroyed Theresa she may as well go back to California.

This show can write sympathetic storylines for vile people like Kristen and Ben but will completely trash people who are somewhat grey - like Theresa.

Yea, this stuff with Everett makes him look awful but I think the show thinks it makes him look good lol.

Nope, just like they made it a big deal when Alex turned off Stephanie's phone, she will eventually find out Chad did this and it will be the reason she breaks up with him.  Don't know if she will go back to Everett or start up again with Alex.

We all Know, or at least guess, that Nicole will see Eric's doll-in-blanket and KNOW that he is her son. But, everyone will just think she is still mourning and it is just the grief talking. Since Leo actually delivered him, maybe HE   will see him and make the connection, and he will be the hero.

The part I'm REALLY over, is the insta-connection between Eric and the baby.   I was rolling my eyes so far back in my head I so brain matter when the baby was fussing for Sloan and MAGICALLY calmed for Eric.  We GET it , it's his kid.  But, life doesn't work that way - I really wish this soap didn't try to convince us it does.

I think they wanted to do that as a wink nudge to the audience that a child of Nicole's is named after a woman she despises. At least when Eric was named after his creepy uncle it was before we knew he was awful.

I'm hoping (I'm sure futilely) this is a way to get Nicole to realize why Sami hates her.  The exact same thing she did to Sami is happening to her now.  I would like her to understand just how much torment she put Sami through.  While I don't think it will ever happen, I would really love it if Nicole and Sami could FINALLY get over their feud and we wouldn't be subjected to Sami/Nicole round 2,847 when Sami comes back for one of her visits - especially since we all KNOW that we're getting round 67 of Eric/Nicole.

Paulina would NEVER use her job to further her personal issues, never never.

You are absolutely right about that.  She NEVER had Abe use the Mayor's office to help Chanel.  Never.  Man, she was pretty unlikeable before but now they're turning her into a real bitch - caring ONLY about how it looks NOW, not about how stupid she's going to look when it inevitably comes out that Gabi didn't kill Li and Paulina SPECIFICALLY ordered the police to NOT investigate the case fully.

Theresa has been royally screwed by this storyline (and recast) and I need her to run as far from Salem as possible

The REAL Theresa would never have agreed to kidnap a baby.  She would have simply called Constantine's bluff and threatened to let Maggie know that he was romancing her for her money.  (And she would have made sure she had proof to make her threat good.)

Xander used to be a career criminal. Further proof that he has been dumbed down trying to be 'worthy of Sarah'

Yup, the fact that he wasn't INSTANTLY suspicious (especially since he doesn't like the guy) is completely out of character for him.

Sarah is so frustrating. First she doesn't even accept the fact that Xander only filed for full custody when she was ensuring full custody for herself by fraudulently claiming Rex as the father. Then she turns down every attempt Xander makes to settle out of court and come up with something between them. Then she whines he is going to be mean to her in court when she is planning to be mean to him in court. Eric's testimony honestly helps Xander's case. She literally CHOSE him to be the father of her baby therefore admitting he is good father material. Sloan is a far better and far more vicious lawyer than Justin, I like his chances at this point, but I agree it should just be shared custody. And can we get on with it already. One scene with the same conversation every two weeks is ridiculous.

Yes, I'm REALLY over her whole wounded bird act.  She started this with her stupid lie about Rex and then insisted they had to fight it out in court.  Yet, she has the audacity to act hurt every time Xander simply tries to counter what SHE'S doing.

Steve instantly mistrusting Constantine was a bit unearned. He wasn't being overtly suspicious at all.

Victor's weird portrait with the massively blue sky? Not so much.

Oh, come on.  Wouldn't you be instantly suspicious of whoever gave someone that monstrosity?  I thought it was pretty funny that while both Steve and Kayla thought they painting was hideous, they were both dancing around about how awful it was.  Steve:  "It's big."  One of the better lines today.

Fortunately for all of us, they cut the John and Marlena slobbering all over each other act short today.  Not NEARLY as painful as I feared.

Wasn't the Theresa story supposed to be 12 weeks, and they wanted to do that story, so they recast Theresa? Well, after the 12 weeks, they can just put Emily O'Brien in as Sloan. She's already got the wig. And, I am not serious, but who knows what this stupid show will do?

This would be kind of amazing.

Hey, show could just have Emily cycle through the cast every 12 weeks or so.  She was Gwen, now she's Theresa, next, she could be Sloan.  She could be Xander's mother in flashbacks.  Maybe she could be on call to be the general understudy for anyone in the cast.  Who wouldn't want to see her as Alex, Brady or maybe Doug?  I, for one, would love to see her fill in for Paulina or Julie.

The Giant portrait of Victor reminds me of the giant portrait of Stephano in the DiMeara house.

I'm sorry, but that thing is absolutely hideous.  If something ever happened to Mr. Cat I couldn't IMAGINE who would hate me enough to "gift" me with something like that.  Fortunately, I know Mr. Cat would be incredibly honored if I burned the thing in our fire pit so I wouldn't have to look at that for long.

This is why Brady isn't worse to me than Theresa.

I'm not necessarily saying he's worse.  It's just the fact that Theresa hasn't done anything half as bad as a lot of the Salem residents and she's universally trashed while Brady, who has admittedly done some pretty awful stuff is still pretty universally revered as a "great guy."  Sort of like how everyone bends over backwards to tell Eric what a great father he'll be when he's PROVEN he's shit as a father.
