  1. Here's the thing I don't understand. All their houses are open concept, front door to living room to dining room to kitchen. And they live in Indianapolis. Where gets cold. And it rains. And it snows. And the wind blows. So you open the front door and whatever it is outside is coming straight in all the way to the kitchen. There's never anything to stop it. And there's never anywhere to sit down and pull off your snowy-muddy-wet shoes and hang up your coat. Do they only ever show their houses on warm sunny days hoping people will forget about bad weather? Do they expect everyone to enter through the back door all the time? There was one showing where Mina took off her coat and tossed it on the sofa, and even then the "buyers" didn't cotton on to the fact that there was nowhere else to put it. It makes me crazy.
  2. it probably *was* a hot mess. A "full English" breakfast, which Mrs. Patmore's guests would expect, would consist of fried eggs, fried tomatoes, fried mushrooms, fried potatoes, fried sausage, fried bacon, fried bread, beans and possibly peas. The beans and peas are allowed to remain unfried, but otherwise I think they even fry their grease. This is the breakfast I was introduced to in 1971 and in many places it hasn't changed. It's heart-stopping - in many ways.
  3. Most likely Edith has a service flat where the building management provides the servants.
  4. Jschoolgirl, fly paper used to be made with arsenic.
  5. Well, Sam tends not to think too much at all. He needs a Marley to tell him "Go get one!" Perhaps Coach Beiste could do the honors this time.
  6. Not "it's not right for Sam." Sam didn't THINK it was right for him. When he made that choice coaching had never entered his (rather empty) head.
  7. I strongly disagree that it is "laughable" for Sam to urge Rachel to go back to college. Some of the most passionate advocates of college education are people who didn't have one. Just because Sam thought it wasn't right for him doesn't invalidate his opinion.
  8. Last week Finn didn't exist on Rachel's high school memory wall. This week she won't sit or dance with Sam until Finn's mom nods approval. Makes all the sense in the world.
  9. What happened to Kurt's tattoo?
