  1. So, did anyone else watch "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?" If so, did anyone else suspect that the character "Susie" was what Sookie was originally intended to be like? I suspect this because of things that ASP has said about her original conception of the character, like she was supposed to be a lesbian ("Susie" is the stereotypical definition of a butch lesbian, down to being repeatedly mistaken for a man- ugh) and because Alex Borstein (who was originally cast as Sookie) plays her. Thank goodness we got Melissa McCarthy instead. (Although they totally could have written her character just like they wrote it for Melissa McCarthy- feminine and vulnerable and sweet and funny, taking out the Jackson storyline obviously, and still have made the character a lesbian. But then it wouldn't have been a "funny" joke, just part of her as a person).
  2. No, but, even though Sookie says May 15th, it says May 19th on the poster at the actual wedding. Also, did Rory just completely avoid/ignore Jess for the entire month between their kiss and what was presumably the end of school/beginning of the leadership program in the middle of June?
  3. If you look closely, you can see Rory turning the thing the wrong direction, thus it starts spraying more water. Probably why it got "stuck," at least to someone with not a very firm grip/upper body strength.
  4. I am generally not a big fan of Logan, but I love the moment when Rory comes to his dorm to tell him that she can't handle an open relationship, and he's sitting there, alone, reading and listening to this song: Also, my favorite Rory moment is her remark when Lorelai tells her Jason has been sending her things and she says, "Pipe bombs?" It's just a wonderful, small snarky moment.
  5. So, upon further perusal, there is one throwaway line in the Season 5 episode with the male Yale party about why Kyon, who in Season 4 said she was a student from Seoul who would be there for 3 months, was still in Stars Hollow. She says, "Mrs. Kim has taken me in." What happened to her family? Is she Lane's sister now, adopted or foster? Why is this never discussed?
  6. That kind of approach to casting drives me crazy, very crazy.
  7. Did anyone notice that they seem to have merged the two characters of Kyon the foreign exchange student and Lane's first cousin Christine in the episode where Lane has her bridal shower? It was clearly the actress who played Kyon, still doing the accent, but Lane specifically refers to her as "family." ("My family is crazy"). Even if they couldn't get the same actress who played Christine in the episode where Lane moves in with Zach and Brian, they could have gotten a different actress and had Lane say "My cousin [insert name here] is crazy."
  8. Also, in addition to "she could get a job," why didn't Lorelai also say, "her mother (or Anna)?"
  9. Hi, I live in Connecticut, and someone (a while ago) was speculating where Stars Hollow was placed in CT. They placed it where Meriden is (which is hilarious to me because I live in Meriden, and no), but I would say, from clues like it being close to Woodbridge and Woodbury, that they put it in place of Prospect https://goo.gl/maps/7gG5nnWVAZ52, except in Season 7, where Emily and Richard are trying to find New London (where I grew up) and instead got lost in Preston, which actually isn't that far off base, being still in Southeastern CT, and Lorelai accidentally invites them over because they're "right near" her. Look at a map writers, please! Also, I wish that we had seen, on screen, a discussion of Rory commuting from home vs living in a dorm, because she lives like a half hour drive from Yale, a very easy commuting distance and it would have saved them beaucoup bucks, and been a good excuse for them to still be involved in each others' lives. And being able to live at home is one of the pros stated by both Emily when they visit Yale, and Rory at that Thanksgiving dinner. Also, we say "anyway," not "anyhow" (a really overused word in the show) and we do not call Southern Connecticut State University "Southern Connecticut State," or "Connecticut State," we call it Southern or SCSU. We also have Eastern, Central, and Western. Also, by 2002, the Connecticut license plates were all converted to the new style of plate (even if you had an older car they re-issued your plate so everyone's looked the same).
  10. I always thought that deep down Lorelai was upset because Luke stepped up completely for April, basically the complete opposite of what Christopher did with Rory. And as much as I did not want to see them together, I think that Lorelai and Christopher had to explore a relationship in a real way, because they were always hung up on each other.
