Lived In Inch

Not surprised but I am still pretty mad that this one got cancelled. Season two had so much potential. I was glad that ABC allowed it to run its course unlike FOX which routinely pulls series mid run. It was a fun procedural, that didn't take itself too seriously and had a killer soundtrack. Sure that show has flaws, mostly writing and nonsensical plot twist like why would Cameron need to break into the safe deposit box when the bank is cooperating with the sting? My favorite episodes were the ones involving Mystery Woman. But most of the filler episodes still advanced the Mystery Woman plotline by giving us another piece of the puzzle.

Well they rented out a museum for their wedding, that doesn't cost cheap. Her parents must have some good income and a guilty conscience because they divorced when she was a kid. Spending twenty dollars on a candle is still ridiculously expensive, it's Vicki's daily coffee budget. And yes cutting out a few coffees a week does make a difference. She could have bought that crazy expensive candle if she cut off some stuff. You don't have to buy expensive and brand name all of the time. I save up for quality items so I don't run up my credit card. And I do have a job which helps. And I have to constantly remind myself that this show is scripted. And all the couples are acting the way they are because cameras are in their faces.

Ever since they got the houses, I've always asked myself how did an empty nester (or soon to be, at the time) ended up getting a five bedroom with a wet bar. The "go buy the wreath" rant explained some of it. And it showed that Meri is an inconsiderate selfish spender.

I find the row between Mary and Branson very one sided. One scene they are hurling insults at one another, the next scene he is still playing cupid. To top it all off, he stands Best Man at the Talbot wedding. She still hasn't apologized, or maybe she did but I just don't believe her.

I second all of that. I also cannot understand why Julian Fellowes made Branson come back from Boston to become a glorified cheerleader.

This episode made me realize that I don't like Matthew Goode's acting as Henry Talbot. It feels forced and unnatural, Mr Carson has just become a bully to the nth degree, at home to poor Mrs (Hughes) Carson, and at work to Barrow (Thomas).

I want to believe that Mary is too obtuse and too self-centered to figure out what's going on with Marigold on her own. Tom and Lord Grantham didn't need much prodding to find out. I despise Mary. I would hate for her and Tom to be endgame.

I don't exactly know why but I am quite pissed off by Tom's reappearance. I am a Branson fan. I've lived through his two years mopping around asking should he stay or should he go. And I've mourned his departure. I've imagined his life in Boston with Sybbie in his flat and his garden. I've lived spoiler free as I've no idea that Fellowes was planning to bring him back. I am mad. Maybe because it stole some of Mr and Mrs Carson thunder on their big day. And because I spent a whole year making myself ready to not see Allen Leech's face only to have him reappear after the third episode? He better not leave again.

This episode confirmed in my eyes that Mary is still a bitch, and she got off too easy from being blackmailed (which wasn't undeserved but annoying). The Bates are getting annoyingly pulled in and eventually pulled out of weird situations involving suspicious deaths. They are old pros at this. I've updated the John count to two, which means that Fellowes is finally waning off Charles (I've counted no less than 6 characters named Charles in Downton).

Sending Simon back in is a travesty. I couldn't be happier when he was ousted on Launch Night. I couldn't handle any more of his "Showbizzz!" outbursts. I want him to be the first evicted of the new bunch. My favorite housemate so far is Nick. I love toffs. Awkward weirdos have a great place in my heart.
