  1. My father had Lewy Body Dementia and it became apparent when he was in his mid-50's that something was wrong.
  2. I enjoyed this episode after being disappointed for many this season. Crying has been standard fare except for parts of this season. But when I saw Nicky, I totally lost it and cried ugly sobs. His backstory was so profoundly sad and I didn't expect him to survive his lifelong grief. It looks like he became a person again.
  3. I thought Maya Rudolph acted her tush off in this. I saw a depth I'd not seen from her before. I also think she would have been so much better against another husband than Fred. The only thing I found convincing with him was that he was desperately frustrating to be around. The Mark character was very believable, and the actor who played him was fantastic. There was something so compelling about his face.
  4. Same holds true for the town in Maryland. Funny that I lived in Norbeck, Maryland right next to Olney and not far from Olney in Philadelphia.
  5. Jenna Bush is fine in small doses, but she doesn't have the gravitas to carry a daily show. Sheinelle is growing on me and she's getting better. She has promise. As for Dylan, I really like her. She's smart, but I think they muzzle her a bit. Someone upthread mentioned the Stephanie Gosk appearances on Megyn were some of the best, but she's too damned good as a reporter to stop globetrotting. Monday's show with Craig, Hoda and Al, showed Hoda's best side as a journalist. She was subdued, eloquent and worthy of the desk. I wish she'd be that way whenever doing hard news. I just can't think of anyone on the NBC bench who has the charisma and experience for a morning show. Part of the problem is the format, where after the initial hard news, the fluff takes over.
  6. Megyn's facts about Kavanaugh's lying were not. He claimed the drinking age was 18 when it has gone back up to 21 in Montgomery County Maryland. I know because I grew up in Rockville and was glad that I was already 21. That was one of many things he perjured himself on.
  7. I think that KLG went into a dissociative state during Frank's cheating days. She's not dealing well with reality and her last grasp of her family has gone away. I'm sure she is lonely but I guess that she has major trust issues too. I wish someone would just fix her up with someone similar for some dates. Her religion drives me nuts and since she obviously has gay friends via music (after her Anita Bryant stint), she can't hang with some evangelicals. She's kind of stuck between eras, religions and reality.
  8. I got the impression that after she bailed out the useless boyfriend that she was resigned to being wired that way...that having a man in her life was more important than anything. I also think that she can't trust herself to not misbehave. She loves Deja but her look at Randall and Beth's after the car rescue showed that she could never provide for her the way they can. It seemed to send her into a downward emotional state.
  9. I too was sobbing uncontrollably from Kevin's speech. My dad died in 2005 and my stepmother made it such that I couldn't see him just before. He was my sane parent and an unconditionally loving, kind and brilliant man...almost perfect like Jack. I too have been holding my breath since dad died and obviously needed to let out years of sorrow. Hugs to you, Sadiegirl. My dad's LewyBody dementia hit him around 56. A classmate of mine is 59 and in the declining portion of her dementia. It's more common than you might think.
  10. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm going to give KLG a pass when it comes to her Billy Graham comments today. Even though I'm a die-hard atheist, I understand the relationship that she and her ilk had with him. For what it's worth, he did insist upon integrated services and was a friend of Martin Luther King, Jr's. Now as a proud member of the LGBTQ community I have a hard time abiding his stance regarding marriage equality and more. That all said, she should keep her proselytizing to minimum.
  11. I have to admit that I'm enjoying the KLG 4th hour with the live audience. Today's show with Sheinelle Jones was really funny. KLG is actually good getting laughs and the show is lively and not stale.
  12. Can't stand Lauer -- never could -- and haven't watched since Ann left.
  13. I loved that Donnie Osmond joined in with Hoda singing a Pharrell song to drive Kathie Lee crazy.
  14. This commercial leaves me feeling disjointed. Yes the disembodied bladder clearly demonstrates urgency. But why oh why does the treated bladder insist upon remaining outside the patient's body?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4eRDO83fWE
