  1. Haven't watched an episode this season. Doesn't look like I missed anything...
  2. Like having no food. Judging by the comments this is not must see TV. I'll see if its more dramatic next week. Any early predictions on who will stay married?
  3. I wanted Wyatt to win also. Although his kung-fu philosophizing got tiresome. He seemed to be handling the cold better but 6 degrees with constant wind is unbearable. Losing a toe nail probably convinced him the end was drawing near. That said I'm sure he will regret being one contestant away. Had he caught one big fish he'd probably stay. Happy for Alan's wife. Always good to see the look on their faces. Of course what spouse wouldn't be happy with a 500k deposit.
  4. If I had the skills to survive in that situation (which I don't) the loneliness would do me in. Not just the lack of company, but being unable to know what's going on in the world. It would probably do me some good initially but it would also drive me nuts.
  5. Unless he burns his shelter down Wyatt will probably win. He's been getting the most food it seems. Can you imagine if he wins and they take him to a seafood restaurant? That would be cruel. I consider the last 3 standing to be winners...1st 2nd and 3rd place. Its never a total loss the longer they stay the more they make for being on TV. I imagine if I was starving I'd eat a fish with worms but I would cook it until it was crispy.
  6. A woman did win the frozen contest. A short version where contestants are dropped off well into the cold season. Some people can take the worst situation possible and somehow still be optimistic.
  7. Imagine if she won and they disqualified her. But we don't have to worry she can't last much longer.
  8. I don't think the # of drop outs this season is unusual. Typically a 1/3 the participants who aren't up to the challenge drop out in the first 20-30 days. Then accidents take out a participant or two. The last four left are usually hard core, have great attitudes, love the challenge and are at least semi successful procuring calories.
  9. I thought Luke had legs also. He was successful at procuring calories. He had made a cool cabin that looked very sturdy. However the first moment he faced adversity he didn't think twice about tapping out. Other contestants have gutted out a bout and got better.
  10. Her stomach told her to go home. I believe at some point she was only hanging on only to finish her cabin. Its sad I'm sure they tore it down like they usually do. She probably got home and her mom told her sorry honey that was a wrong call.
  11. If you mean the woman who is building a mansion you better lower your expectations. I think it would be cool as a hobby to build a top notch cabin at my leisure with a RV nearby. I was thinking also they should consider building a windbreak on the side of the shelter that faces the brunt of the wind. If standing up is important digging two or three feet deep would have a lot of advantages. Your shelter wouldn't have to be as high.
  12. Almost all of the contestants start off with a lot of brave talk and hype and how they will endure and be the last one standing. I believe positive attitude is the skill and asset the final four bring to the table. The people who really enjoy the experience whatever it brings. I recall one season where they guy tapped out the same day he was dropped off. If you don't have a positive attitude you stop trying to procure food. You stop looking for new ways to procure food. I see one of the woman is expending ginormous amounts of energy on building her cabin. There is some logic to it but every contestant who ignored food to build a cabin always wind up with a calorie deficit they can't over come. The size of her cabin is going to be hard to keep warm which means more firewood. While the weather is decent build a minimal shelter and concentrate on getting and gorging on food as much as possible. I'd also pack on as many pounds as possible prior to going out. These thin people are really on the edge already. I see 5 of the contestants are over 50. This might be the over all oldest group yet. There is something to be said for experience and maturity but I'd trade it for 20 years of youth. I expect my next week a few will drop out. The guy who lost his arrows appears to have youth and a good attitude. I expect he'll go far.
  13. It almost seems unfair because how can you make a decision not only about Ashley, but also about a 13 year old girl who is already going through a difficult age. It could be the farm life would be great for her or she may end up detesting it and her mom and of course this strange man. By his own admission he let the wrong woman go. No one hitched a knot yet.
  14. Just got caught up on this series. A few thoughts about the show.. Of course its a car wreck to have 5 woman competing for one guy. I wonder if they get so caught up in competition, they don't consider two pertinent things. Do they like the farmer and do they like farming? Its entertaining to watch woman compete over a man. I wonder how long lasting or if any of them get married at some point? Hunter needs to be a bit more decisive especially since the woman he likes has a daughter. I wonder a bit about a mom who go's off on this adventure leaving her daughter behind...but she does seem nice. Its seems like Ryan is giving all the woman a taste test. Guess I can't blame him. He needs to thin the herd. Go down to two asap and really have time. Allen is doing the best job of thinning. He gave the woman he let go time but he's right they got awkward. I hope and I don't believe he will pick Cassidy Jo. She is the kind who loves to chase and win but once she has the games a foot elsewhere. She isn't a farmer's wife. Landon seems the most down to earth. He made a good decision going down to four...now he should get down to two also. Then maybe some cat fights will break out...
  15. It would take an hour and 15 minutes to take 15 minutes with each of them. Two and a half hours to spend half hour with each one. Its not going to get easier as they whittle them down. I assume its possible at the end some of them will come up with an empty sack. Even if they settle on one I assume it doesn't mean instant wedding. As a man I'm sure this situation would be very difficult to manage. I bet there not sleeping well, I'm sure the farm work is falling behind. One of them said its not natural to date five at a time...I'm sure its not. I had a hard enough time dating one at a time. Women on the show accept this due to the situation but under most circumstances intolerable. I think it would go to my head. I'm not sure I'd wind up with the best woman for me either.
  16. The show is entertaining if nothing else. It is suspenseful when someone has to be picked to leave. I have a problem with the competition aspect of it. How much are the women really considering life as a farm wife or are they just competing to 'win the prize' without really finding out of the prize is worth it. I think a couple of woman are showing they can handle the life and the farmer. Some look and act more like farm girls while others look like city girls. I really wonder if they are counting the cost? I'm very happy there are people who enjoy this kind of work. Too labor intense for me, I'm a thinker not a stinker.
  17. Jasmine needs to prepare herself for reality. Arris isn't going to hang around. Nicole did look haunting in her wedding pictures. She should have her eyebrows photo shopped out. As often is the case a good personality and confidence create a few extra points on attractiveness. I'm sure they will stay together. Clint and Gina are having fun, communicating well. Not bad, is it enough to stay married? They buried the initial wound but the first disagreement it will raise its ugly head. I'm find it hard to like Kirsten. Its a one way street with her. He has to win her over while she barely lifts a finger and criticizes who he is. In her mind she has arrived. At some point Shaquille has to evaluate if she is worthy of living with. He needs to make it a two way street. Dull season. First time the previews don't look compelling.
  18. I work out in a public gym and I see some woman who are pretty but their thin muscular bodies are a turn off. Fit woman who are 10-40 pounds overweight look far more appealing and more healthy. 50 pounds and over can be problematic appearance and health wise. Looks like I did myself a favor by skipping it. As for Clint and Gina if they become nothing more than good friends, that's more than some get out of the show.
  19. I think she made a logical decision with Spock like lack of emotion. The needs of the many outweighed the needs of the few or in this case the one. She did all she could to find his wife. Sad she was dead but what could be done? She didn't have a date only with the bottle.
  20. I like this show its fun to watch. What caught my attention first was the interaction in the JOC and the technology they seem to have. I have to question how authentic it is. The real FBI has video of someone planting pipe bombs in front of a federal building a day before Jan 6th. They even have the bomb because it didn't go off. 2 years later nothing, on TV they solve it in a few days if that. The kill rate the main four agents rack up is incredible. Nearly every week one or more people are killed. Apparently all the kills are 'good shootings' they never get their gun taken away or mandatory counseling. Of course if they did no one would be around to run after perps. The # of murders investigated is incredibly high also since the FBI rarely investigates murders. They are the worst at arresting people. Nearly every time they run away like rabbits. About a third of the time they elude them. I bet they ask the writers can we just catch the guy in bathroom? The Actors and Actresses best to worst Missy Peregrym Jeremy Sisto Zeeko Zaki Vedette Lim (technician) Alana de la Garza (Isobel) Katherine Renee Turner (Tiffany) John Boyd (Scola) Of the top three Zeeko is kind of weak. He only has four expressions. The wide open jaw and eyes used the most. John Boyd has a dull sullen character and he plays it that way. Every scene is like a wet noodle. Tiffany isn't much better. Her voice tone never changes. Its a nice voice it just never changes.
  21. The fact her mother put the app in should have been disqualifying action. She was dragged into doing this in the first place. In one sense I respect her action and decision. If, as unfair as it is, she has no intention of trying to make it work then better to just rip the band-aid off. This was a flagrant bogey for all who were responsible for this couple getting together. These people should be smart enough to know if someone is just going along to get along. Unsuitable for anyone really. I think her issue with Clint was her own insecurity. On an appearance level they're really evenly matched. She for some reason sabotaged the relationship by commenting on some immutable characteristic. The he did likewise due to his insecurity. If they get past that they might have some success. But I doubt it.
  22. They should strap these people into a lie detector. Its not all the 'experts' fault. You wind up with folks who are really good liars. Like most liars they abandon the lie the moment it no longer serves a purpose. The most genuine couple is Christopher and Nicole. Its appears they really did want to get married and make a marriage work. Is it a shock to some folks that being married involves living together?
  23. Just wait a few years, have a few babies and that ass will be plenty big.
  24. Airris and Jasmine They have a chance but I think she is insecure about her appearance and whether she is on the same level as him. I'm unclear why a man who's never even fallen deeply in love would think having a mate picked out for him would work. The premise of this show is these people really want the married life, they want to share the adventure of life with someone. They theoretically know that marriage can be hard. Yet few of them seem to anticipate that. I think he'll bail on the marriage. Christopher and Nicole This is the only couple I thought might have a chance. I hope his conversation with her was an aberration and he just had a brain fart moment. I don't know where his head is at it might be temporary buyers remorse. Clint and Gina I'd say this couple is doomed. He should have admitted he only insulted her because his feelings were hurt. There was no good reason for her to tell him she's put off by semi red headed men. He should have risen above it. She may have bailed on it before they even got married. Mackinley and Domynique I have no doubt people lie and dissemble in their many interviews. They don't necessarily want to be married but they do want to be on TV and make this an experience of a life time. If I was single in my mid 20's to mid 30's I'd throw my hat in the ring figuring it was a one and a thousand shot. Mack bio is telling. Mackinley, 33, was left blindsided by his most recent relationship. Since then, he has had trust issues. His fear of getting hurt again has caused him to put a wall up and he's tired of feeling like he can't fully open up to women. He's pretty much in the same situation only technically they're married. Her bio says she's confident she is ready for marriage. She must have believed marriage requires no effort. Not sure if they last the 8 weeks... I agree with Pastor Cal getting on these people for not moving in. These are folks who swore in the interview they are committed no matter who walks down the alley to make it work...provided it takes no effort. Give it 8 weeks of effort for crying out loud. Shaquille and Kirsten If she gets off her high horse they might have a chance. I don't think she will she's Queen Sheeba in her mind.
  25. You would think that! Many of the participants seem to feel the 'experts' have to find the perfect mate of their dreams. Anything less than that is a let down. I don't understand why some folks come on the show, agree to get married and don't give it any chance to succeed. Chris and Nicole seem for real. But that can change. Mack and Dom ~ Nothing to negative but not much positive. Shaquille - Unlike Clint he didn't lose his confidence because she threw some shade about him being bald. She comes off as if she is the word from on high about how he should be and how he should be and how the marriage should be. I hope he stands his grounds. He's a cool guy.
