  1. So should Meghan be given a head's up whenever someone is going to write something about her father? He was a public figure. Things are going to be mentioned about him. She should be more concerned about people close to her not caring when unkind things are said about him.
  2. That is probably due to John Larroquette portraying him. If we are talking about West Wing lawyers my favorite was Oliver Babish. Which i probably due to Oliver Platt portraying him.
  3. But were Jack and Clair really "in a relationhip"? Or were they friends (co workers) with benefits.
  4. I agree. If someone wants to read her book fine let them but I don't see what she will have to say that I would even be remotely interested in hearing. And she has zero personality. I predict the interview will be boring. I have her book on reserve at the library. Interestingly enough I was reading another book about Melania and Stephanie WW was mentioned quite a few times in it.
  5. Shouldn't she be close to maternity leave? Why come back for what will probably be a short period and then take maternity leave? Meghan either has an ego so big she thinks she is indispensable or insecure enough to think the show will thrive without her.
  6. At least Happy Days thought about tacking an ending on for the show when it went into reruns. That was a problem for shows who did crossovers with plots that continue onto other shows. Law & Order had that problem with their crossovers with Homicide. When L & O shows those episodes in syndication viewers don't get to see the resolution on Homicide. Grey's Anatomy does it now with Station 19. I watch Grey's but not Station 19 and if I miss a plot point so be it. I don't like being manipulated into watching a show.
  7. Meghan would be willing to overlook that. She picks and chooses which issues are deal breakers for her. She considers abortion infanticide but is friendly with Amber Tamblyn. Piers Morgan is a rich white guy acting like a privileged asshole and berating anyone who dares to criticize him. Meghan can relate to that.
  8. Or Minnie Jackson's famous pie from the Help.
  9. From her rant: "We are punished for being tough, opinionated and not backing down while men are celebrated for it" Meghan how exactly are you punished? And any criticism thrown your way is based on your rude obnoxious behavior. "I know what kind of life and career I could have had if I just smiled and never tackled anything controversial and stuck to safe and non threatening topics" Meghan quit acting like you are some sort of maverick bucking the trend. Any woman who is in your tribe makes a name for herself by acting just like you are acting. It's your brand. She is so clearly insecure and defensive about how the world sees her. Most people would have ignored that article but Meghan has to draw even more attention to it. She needs much better "people". A manager, agent, publicist. Someone needs to tell her to grow a tougher skin.
  10. Carrie dated a politician and didn't want to talk about politics. And she seemed to be clueless about what Big did for a living.
  11. I thought she said that after Brady was born.
  12. She didn't quit but she did cut back. And when you are a partner you are expected to bring in work.
  13. I just looked her up on IMDB. That role was her only screen credit. I wonder if she was a stage actress or something. I understand SJP was supposed to be the star of the show and the character of Carrie was supposed to be the person the show focused on but it simply was not believable that every hot guy they met was interested in Carrie. In certain contexts it made sense. Jon Bon Jovi and her met in therapy. David Duchovony was an old boyfriend. But the show went out of it's way to make it seem like Carrie was someone who turned heads. Which IMO she was not. Now on the other hand Samantha was gorgeous and she had confidence. When she walked in a room you felt her presence.
  14. If I'm going to be completely shallow and I'm going to be I have to say looks wise I thought Big and Aidan were both more attractive than someone with Carrie's looks would get. Carrie (and by extension SJP) wasn't unattractive. She looked nice when her hair and make up was done but in all honesty I don't think most people would have even turned their head to look at her if not for most of those clothes she wore.
  15. Meghan will congratulate Whoopi but secretly she will be jealous. And I have no doubt she is probably counting the number of conservative women on the list.
  16. I agree with this. Miranda was a catch. Any man would have been lucky to have her. Take Brady out of the equation and Miranda would not have ended up with Steve. Even with Brady in the equation I don't think Miranda should have ended up with Steve. When you are with someone they tend to either bring you up or bring you down. I think Steve brought Miranda down. I never really bought her giving up her high powered career (she had made partner) and moving to Brooklyn. I could see Charlotte doing that. By the time she married Harry she no longer had a career but I could totally buy her wanting to move to Brooklyn (although not to the house Miranda bought) and raising her kids there. I give the writers some leeway with how they wrote Carrie because that character was sometimes all over the place. But I don't think the writers wrote Miranda as well as they could and should have. And I think pairing her with Steve was part of that. I thought she could have done a lot better. And then when she did do a lot better they had her magically decide she loved Steve. The flaws that drove her crazy enough to break up with him were still there when she got back together with him. I liked her as a single mother. Most of the time when you saw a single mother on TV she is either struggling to pay the bills and she doesn't have time for men (Grace under Fire) or she is so career oriented she doesn't have time for men (Murphy Brown). But Miranda still wanted to date and have sex. I had a hard time swallowing she went from being freaked out about Robert telling he loved her (albeit on a cookie) because she wasn't ready for that to her realizing she loved Steve.
  17. Same here. I felt the show pushed the "sexy, attractive" angle too hard throughout the series, but YMMV...so I just shrugged this off. Just because I didn't find the character attractive doesn't mean others can't feel differently. The actor Cress Williams makes an impression every show he is on. He was on Beverly Hills 90210 over 20 yrs ago and only for a handful of episodes and there are still fans who think him and Donna would have been a great couple. I am one of those fans.
  18. I think this was a contributing factor to Miranda not readily forgiving Steve. She didn't need to be married to him. Too many times women (and men) stay in marriages that aren't working because they aren't financially able to support themselves outside the marriage.
  19. I was cheated on by a boyfriend not a husband and let me tell you it hurt. A lot. I was in my early 20s and I probably would have forgiven him but he broke up with me. So clearly he cheated because he wasn't happy and wanted out of the relationship. The way the movie portrayed it was Steve cheated because he wanted laid. That is my opinion. It was a one night stand. He immediately confessed. That is not a man who wants out of the relationship. I do not blame Miranda at all for not wanting to forgive him. Yes six months is a long time to go without sex in a marriage but there was a lot going on and I'm not going to fault Miranda for not putting out for husband. There is an old belief that says men cheat for the sex they aren't getting at home and women cheat for the attention they aren't getting at home.
  20. In 2013 I had a breast biopsy and they did it with me under anesthesia. But it wasn't a needle biopsy.
  21. Didn't it have something to do with her hormone supplements? Like I said in an earlier post i skip that part of the movie. Out of all the women I think Samantha was the most genuine. You knew who she was and more importantly she knew who she was. She was afraid to fall for Richard and rightly so because he broke her heart. Whenever I watch that scene my heart breaks for her. She was afraid to fall for Smith and did a lot to self sabotage but she took a chance and I really enjoyed their relationship. Until she was relegated to staying home while he worked. The show might have tried to portray Samantha as a woman you don't want to be but I found myself thinking I wish I could be more like her. There is nothing wrong with a woman enjoying sex and not wanting to settle down with one partner. And as someone mentioned earlier there is no fucking way Samantha hadn't been tested for HIV. I also don't believe she would have been lax about practicing safe sex. She mentioned she had had two abortions. I doubt she would have taken chances after that. Actually I'm surprised she was in a situation that required a second abortion. I'm going to choose to believe the condom broke.
  22. Well some people would say Samantha also got punished for not being a damsel in distress. Whether it was intentional or not it does seem like the writers wrote Charlotte and Carrie a certain way and Miranda and Samantha a different way. Charlotte and Carrie both wanted romance and Miranda and Samantha did not. . When the show first started Miranda and Samantha both seemed like they didn't need to define themselves by having a man in their life. When Samantha broke up with Smith I totally understood. She felt like she had lost her identity. I wish they had done that with Miranda as well. Instead of making her too busy and uninterested in having sex with Steve they could have had her rethink her move to Brooklyn and taking a step back from being a partner in a law firm. That would have caused conflict in her marriage that felt organic and not plot driven to get her back with the girls for the rest of the movie. I had a friend (a female friend no less) tell me that I needed to stop being so independent when it came to men. That I needed to let men feel like I needed them. Needless to say I am no longer friends with that person
  23. I agree with you. Her fashion sense wasn't sense at all. It was all about look at me. I do think she dressed Charlotte beautifully throughout the series and movies. There is one style I did steal from Carrie that I still wear to this day. I think it was when she met Aidan and his kid. She had on jeans with a some sort of summer top and a cardigan over it. It was the few looks of Carrie's that translated to real life.
  24. I liked Jamie so much better than Claire. She was an adult. An actual lawyer. With Claire it always felt like she was a law student. Although the Jamie years was when they shifted a lot of focus to the character's personal lives. We knew so much more about Jamie than we ever did about Abby.
  25. I've seen and read interviews with Pat Field and I have to say I didn't care for her. I know some people considered her a genius but I was not one of those people. She would dress Carrie is such ridiculous outfits. Now to be fair she also dressed her in some to die for clothes but when she was dressed in the Heidi outfit or the belt over her bare stomach it didn't match the character. I know we were supposed to think Carrie was a free spirit and marched to the beat of her own drummer but that simply was not true. I read a review somewhere and it said Pat Field dressed Carrie to get attention for herself and I would agree with that. She also was the costume designer on that awful Kelly Ripa sitcom Hope and Faith and she would dress Kelly's character in the most outrageous outfits. Kelly's character was written to be over the top so the clothes were a little more understandable. But for Carrie I can not think of one good reason she would dress as Heidi. Unless she was going to be yodeling in the Alps.
