  1. It really could be. That makes perfect sense. Or maybe it's a bathroom for use when you're out at the pool so you wouldn't have to trek through the house with wet feet/swimsuits. It wouldn't need to be called a Florida bath though cause that type of bathroom could exist anywhere so I dunno.
  2. For most of the show I thought the Santo Domingo woman's child's name was Myson. "My son" this and "My son" that but near the end she said his name was Starling? So Myson isn't so bad after all lol. Nice to try and get him connected to his Dominican roots. I guess she wanted him to meet his father's family there and speak Spanish and get immersed in the culture. The child did seem happy from what we were shown so that's the important thing. I don't suppose she plans to stay there forever. Santo Domingo was a lot nicer than I thought it would be but I think her budget was so conservative that the apartments she looked at were in some dodgy looking areas. I did a quick google and found some really lovely apartments in the city for about $1000-$1500US and up.
  3. I also wondered what on earth a "Florida bath" is. She seemed to want it to be a dedicated bathroom outside of the house? Or in the garage? They were a pleasant enough duo but that was odd. I liked the couple looking for architecturally significant mid-century modern homes in Palm Springs. I was so fascinated by the homes they looked at that I Googled Wexler, Eichler and Krisel and read up a bit on their unique characteristics. Very interesting and quite lovely homes. I was sure they'd pick the first one (which was the cheapest but my favourite) when there was a solitary bed in one room and what appeared to be cell phones charging by the fireplace but I was surprised they picked the third one which wasn't a true mid-century modern at all but a new modern home built with some MCM characteristics. Still, nice couple. A bit of whining about using their old furniture in the new house which was clearly producer driven as it was obvious that a mix of old and new furniture would be fine.
  4. Yeah I doubt that the internet English teachers are still in Budapest. They were pleasant enough but they seemed like they were just trying out living there for a little while, not long term. I didn't see the beginning so didn't hear about leaving their dog behind. That first apartment was quite seedy looking I thought. The huge garbage cans filled with garbage right in the lobby would have turned me off immediately. I wondered how often they're emptied and whose responsibility it is. Also, in winter/bad weather, if the garbage couldn't be picked up, wouldn't the lobby start to smell? Ok so I overthought this one at lot lol. And was there graffiti or some kinda writing on the wall of the balcony of that place? Just odd, like that toilet cubicle with the door that couldn't close once you're sitting on the toilet.
  5. The military family moving to Eindhoven. I was so confused by the wife who I first assumed to be a step mother since she looked and acted like about 23/24 but then they mentioned a 12 year old daughter. So she had to be a wee bit too old to be all "I live to shop" and "who cares about the budget" and "I NEED a walk in closet for all my clothes". Oy. She came off as such a brat. Plus (on a shallow note) she was wearing the ugliest top I've ever seen. The children were very cute and the hubby seemed nice except that he clearly gives in to her every demand no matter what. At the end I had to lol at him hard at work mowing the lawn as the children ran by to jump in the pool and the camera panned to show dear wifey lounging poolside. Last night also had a girl moving to Thailand from Boston and she flew her friend out to help her choose. She had a weird fascination with having a comfortable couch and I couldn't figure why but it needed to literally be in her wishlist. She also floored me by wanting the places to come with sheets and pillows. How odd-you can't bring your own sheets? Long term, you won't buy sheets? There are no sheets available for sale in Thailand? She chose the sheet-less place and had her mother send her own sheets from home. I liked all of the places she saw really but I'd have gone for the second one with the swivel tv. The kitchen there was so nice but in the end she wanted the garden to sit out and the couch was the most comfortable in the first (over-budget) place.
  6. It's supposed to be a look into the future I think. She stopped fixing everything for others and became President. The portrait itself is gorgeous though. Edited to add: I just Googled and the National Portrait Gallery doesn't only have president's portraits. Maybe it's her stellar public service contributions as Fitz's campaign manager, Mellie's Chief of Staff and influential Washington lawyer.
  7. I came here specifically to see if anyone was talking about Dunston and Nicole, the Chicago engaged couple. I kinda thought something was a tad off with their dynamic and then he hit her with the "that's not my problem" and it proved it. Dude's a dick. Thing is, she didn't look surprised so I guess she's accustomed to him talking to her like that. The Beach Hunters couple were really nice though. Loved how they looked at three regular houses and didn't recoil in horror at the avocado oven in one and the pink bathrooms sinks in the other. I thought all three properties were lovely but the second one a bit small. The one they chose was my favorite too.
