    S29: Jon Misch

    Dan coached Jon and Jackie.
  2. When this show is real, as it was tonight, it is so, so good. The kooky nonsense with the uber-rich addict takes me away from, well, the show I think should be. Humor can and should be found in many dark corners.
  3. Yep. Also was that the first time that Mozzie called The Suit, "Peter"? I loved that moment. I'm going by what they left us on the screen. That's where I want to see what the author has for the show. I don't want the author to seem to get two endings for the price of one by pitching something that wasn't shown on the screen.
  4. My favorite part of Natalie's move at final five was that she knew how the votes were going, but kept her decision to herself until the last minute after hearing what everyone had to say. Had Jackie made a mistake at tribal, boom, Natalie plays the idol for herself and Jackie is gone.
  5. Apparently they did and didn't show it. This afternoon, someone on another site posted a link to a photo attached to the official survivor twitter that showed all the torches of survivors other than Jackie, Missy and Natalie. The tweet was then taken down by the official twitter. I didn't see it, but it sounds like it was from the memory walk. I thought about putting this info in the spoiler thread earlier, but since the spoiler thread had really become just the speculation thread late this season, I really didn't want to spoil it if folks only otherwise were talking speculation.
  6. People who didn't like the twinnies on TAR (like myself) have been lauding Natalie's play on Survivor for weeks. So, yes many already have.
  7. That must be it. For me, arguing about Sorkin and his version of things last week made me realize that I shouldn't spend my time going forward talking about things through Sorkin goggles, because nothing good comes from that. Take care all and be well.
  8. Exactly Nashville, I didn't mean to ignore you over there, I had moved myself over here to discuss with the "blindside" thought from the previiews before I saw your post. Good lord, if Natalie doesn't play her idol, welp, yes this would just be....this season.
  9. from a post in the episode thread by mostlikely: I'm not necessarily thinking about Nat finding it, but I hadn't thought about a reseed of the HII that Jon had. Could this explain the final blindside?
  10. Well, I hadn't even thought about that HII being put back in play. Very interesting.
  11. Sepinwall says this so well. I've highlighted tidbits only below, please read the whole thing, lots of great Sorkin moments referenced. Off to rewatch Sports Night. I plead guilty, Sorkin madness, inexcusable nonetheless. And yet.... I think that is what makes me so mad. I keep hoping for better and, at the most unfortunate times, Bad Sorkin shows up. Me and Charlie Brown, sigh.
  12. Missy could have blown up the plan when it was that they planned to vote 2-2-2. Once it was in the revote when only Natalie, Bayor and Missy voted, she had no power if Baylor and Natalie voted together.
  13. The interesting tidbit is that Harriet Hayes, the character on Studio 60 played by Sarah Paulson (who was mocked repeatedly on the show, as a character, for her religious beliefs), was likely based on Kristen Chenoweth, his former girlfriend. Agendas, he has a few! Also, if you haven't watched The West Wing (and Studio 60 is your first impression of Sorkin), you really, really should watch The West Wing. That's some of his very best work. Studio 60 was not. So, so many good episodes of The West Wing, in the early Sorkin years, you really should watch them. That is just not going to be Sorkin's legacy re: writing woman characters on this show or others. It's just not. He's awful with writing real female characters. Aaron Sorkin is going to use lingo rather than all the precise words he insists on in the rest of the episodes? I disagree that he meant anything other than what he said. . In my opinion, Aaron Sorkin may be many things, but "gun shy" about his opinions or writing, he is not. So, we may disagree now, but really, you must watch the first few seasons of The West Wing.
  14. I love his blog, but he takes such joy in trashing Roseanne. And then telling more stories about her relationship with the writers. He also seems to tell a lot of stories out of school from a writer's room, but decided that this story should be kept inhouse. I'm not sure he should be telling anyone to "shush".
  15. I'm trying to figure out Natalie's winner edit: (a) is it because she won the whole game or (b) is it because she finally got her revenge on Jon for Jeremy being voted out. Whatever the reason, it was a good edit to hook me for the finale.
  16. I heard Jon as saying he left his bag at tribal, not that he didn't bring it to tribal council. It's at 26:57 of this podcast where the discussion starts.
  17. You are likely right. He was citing an old contract, so I didn't really feel like paging through it all.
  18. I've always heard about the show reordering challenges to fit certain players if they want to shift the game, but that is just gossip. Also, Andy Dehnhart (twitter handle: realityblurred) tweeted tonight that the contract for Survivor says you are out if you can't participate in a challenge, but that didn't happen here. He was citing a contract from 2010, so who knows if it is the same. On the one hand, sure, I'll let you stay if you are one less threat to getting immunity; on the other, if it is a blood v. water season, why should I let you stay for a vote or two only to have you decide to medically evacuate later at a point when it is advantageous to your other family member? I don't know at all, lots of motivations at conflict here.
  19. I just watched that! So, if it is Missy/Natalie in the finals do they reward Missy for being the mastermind? Do they punish her? This all makes next week even more interesting depending on who gets to the finale. It was Alec saying that, though, do the rest really believe it?
  20. The truth is an absolute defense against slander. Sorkin didn't deny (and actually confirmed) the basic facts she reported: she argued about the plot, he kicked her out of the room. So, no slander here. Was this a good career move for her? I'm guessing no as well.
  21. Okay, I didn't watch this show from the beginning, and then had a long weekend binging old episodes and then otherwise catching up. Which is my was of saying I may be making this all up, from a fog of a nap during the binge session, but I've always thought Sam had two kids.
  22. I agree. But what an interesting dynamic we saw there in that conversation. I mean, I assume before the show started Missy and Baylor pledged to each other that they would be one team and they were going to find a way to win: mom and daughter, unbreakable force. And then, Missy is explaining to Baylor why she can't vote against Jon, even though Baylor is explaining to Missy that they can't win against Jon. I feel like that was an uncomfortable insight into their real life, reinforced with Baylor's confession paraphrasing now: here we go again. Interesting stuff.
  23. I've been wondering about that as well Winston9. I can't decide if that was the conclusion we should reach or if that was how they were deciding to answer any question Natalie had at jury to whichever of them was answering questions from the jury about why they voted her out. It was an interesting line, for sure.
  24. I'm aware of that. I still get to have my opinion, even if you don't like it.
