  1. Claire is a legacy character, Belle and Shawn's only child- to allow her to be ruined is appalling to me. If this is what Ron rewrote last minute I cannot wait until the backlash hits and KC fires Ron. I think Ron has been hit or miss lately, but much like the murder of Willl this is too far. I don't expect Ron getting yet another year and can see Ken doing what he does best- putting all the blame on Ron and Cin fans (who loudly hate Claire on social media) (much like he did with Dena and the homophobic fans re: Will) before having the next writer (if the show doesn't get cancelled) retcon the hell out of this mess. The sad part is, this will be hard for people to forget. The gross part is this is being done to prop a couple who won't even exist beyond next year. All for a serial killer who has no ties to the canvas. Ciara as a child had SO much potential it's kind of sad to see her now. Her whole life involves her love life, there is no development outside her relationships. Will and Abigail were both fleshed out before Will met Sonny and Abby met Chad. They went to school, were involved in their parents lives and had jobs. All Ciara has is Ben (which is what she wants) it's all so heavy handed. Anyways, when this backfires for the show I'll be here laughing when Ciara gets written off in VK's absence and Ben quietly leaves the canvas since what other ties does he have? He's a useless character.
  2. I think chemistry is important and sure it changes things, but the writing should not be so heavy handed. If this couple's chemistry is so spectacular, they shouldn't need other character written out of character or ruined in order to facilitate their "love story". Will and Sonny are a great comparison here, and even though I'm not a fan of the couple (only of the character of Will), when Paul was still on the canvas he wasn't ruined or written out of character in order to prop them up for the audience. If anything, they were clearly written as the guilty parties and I would even go as far as saying the writing wasn't even to make the audience sympathetic towards them at the time. When it comes to Ben/Ciara reworking other characters seems to be the theme with them, and it is tiresome since we have already been through this Chad and Abigail and look where that got them, written into the literal ground. VK is for sure leaving, all the other younger actors do, since being on a soap long term comes with a bad reputation, and allows for zero to no free time for other projects, other than the rare quick indie movie when your storyline is stagnant. Like Camila, Casey, Chandler, Freddie, Kate, ORK, LA; she'll surely be the next to go. If DAYS would work around their schedules, a lot of the actress/actors would still be there, but they don't.
  3. Claire being the one who started the fire seems like a very jump the shark moment to me. I'll be surprised if it isn't a rewrite, since the actress has reportedly been let go from the show. Ruining a legacy character, which is exactly what this does, for a couple and a character who will be gone in less than a year or so is absurd (VK WILL move on from DAYS (and you know how well recasts go), and Ben is a nobody on canvas). I keep seeing people compare Claire to Sami on other message boards and it makes me think the audience doing so isn't familiar with Sami at all, and are just a handful of loud tweens that watch "Cin" scenes with little to no idea about the show's actual history. Sami loved Carrie and even though she did A LOT of horrible things to her sister, the rationale was there and Sami was fully fleshed out over literal YEARS regarding her insecurities and why she acted the way she did. This isn't something Sami would do to anyone that wasn't an enemy of herself or her family (EJ comes to mind here). I'll let this one play out but I literally hate Cin now, even more than before. It's as bad as them propping Chabby and ruining other characters to prop their golden couple. If Ken actually signed off on this, I'll laugh when it backfires, when their recast Ciara fails and they're forced to write Ben off. I would say I'm surprised at KC allowing Shelle's child to be ruined, but he also gave the okay to murder Will so nothing can shock me anymore.
  4. I've been playing catch up since I have been crazy busy these past few months but I was able to catch today's episode live and: I thought I would be able to get back into Will and Sonny as a couple and I now know that isn't going to be the case. The writing just doesn't seem to be there for them anymore. I think Christopher leaving really tossed a wrench into Ron's plans here and this is ultimately what we're left with. I'm not going to debate on whether or not Ron was going for one couple or another, because at this point with one pivot of the triangle removed- he's obviously going to play up the characters that remain. I won't be surprised if this is ultimately leading to their demise for good. Ron wasted no time in involving Leo into this storyline within mere days of Paul's departure. Will is also being regressed with his memory return and Sonny once again is assuming his role as manipulator and the guy who runs when things get tough. Sonny promising Will he wouldn't leave again today reminded me of when Sonny uttered those same words to Arianna and then leaving a couple of months later (I know there were personal issues, but it is still a theme with this character). I'm not interested in them at all. Will is the only thing remotely holding my interest but pairing him with Sonny again, especially with this lacklustre writing is not working. I say by this time next year, we'll either have a NuPaul or Will will be after having another affair again with someone new. I can see the "real" !titanSonny coming out again during this Leo mess, leaving Will realizing what a mistake he has made (hopefully) or Sonny having feelings for Leo, Will fighting for Sonny and eventually moving on himself. I think Will needs to work for Paul if he reappears but Paul fits with the character of Will more so than Sonny ever did IMO. I hate the teen scene. Claire is the only one out of that whole set that is being developed at all. Ciara is stuck in this weird romance with Ben that isn't really a romance since they have barely been together and now all of a sudden they're being rushed. I have no interest in them. Ciara is nothing beyond that pairing and its clear she's simply going to be sacrificed for Ben's redemption. Claire is the break out star of that whole gang, we at least get her perspective on things and are entertained while watching her become the next be big manipulator. Ciara is just back and forth on her love life, which would be fine if she was developed beyond that in the past- but she has never been. So it all feels superficial to me. The actors are attractive sure, but that's not an interesting story.
  5. That whole generalization is a joke IMO. I loved Will and Sonny together but I feel like Will has outgrown that pairing as an adult. It's no secret that I love Will and Paul, but with the way Sonny has been written since his return (and his new need to make everything about himself, and act like Will is his possession) has finally turned me off the character completely. My personal dislike for Sonny has nothing to do with me liking Will and Paul together, but they are definitely the healthier Will pairing (and I'm a Will fan first). It has to do with Freddie's complete lack of effort. I was all for Will and Sonny when Will started to have the flashbacks at the wedding since I appreciate a good soap trope, and enjoyed the lead up to the "reunion" until Sonny opened his mouth and pressured Will into telling him what was wrong and then subsequently grabbing him and making him remember when it was clear he was really upset and wanted to leave. Sonny making it all about him just comes off as desperate and awful. That was the nail in both Sonny's and WilSon's coffin for me. Sonny showing up at the hospital when Will told him not to was just tackless. I hope it all backfires for him in the coming months. I think the writing is bad, Will should be really torn here. Chandler is really the only one saving the story since he is great at playing the nuances of Will being torn when the writing is clearly not pushing that narrative but instead, is forcing Will and Sonny back together with real no build up. It doesn't work, especially with the way the character of Sonny has been written and Will is being regressed in the process.
  6. It could be just a flash back. Billy is leaving a lot sooner than we think (before October which has been speculated online), so they're probably in the middle/end of writing Chabby out now. So the end is in sight!!
  7. Late September or October. She is only in a handful of episodes and then leaves, thankfully.
  8. It all depends on the writing but ultimately I suspect if they do plan for Ben and Ciara to be a long term pairing, eventually they will become that type of couple too. They start out strong but the actors fail to play the day-to-day well or the chemistry changes OR the actors move on. I'm personally starting to enjoy RSW less now that he is playing sane, he was also loathed in the past when he was playing Abigail's "normal" boyfriend. He was so hated that people wanted him off the show until they turned him crazy. I think Rob plays crazy well and I can see Ben being loathed again if they try to turn him into this normal "good guy". It's not the actor's strong suit, plus Ron is writing him okay-ish for now but he has done that with all the returns, then the writing sucks once the newness of the character wears off for him. I may sound bitter and hardened but it's easy to forget that this is Ron at the helm, he doesn't do happy or write well long term, so I'm sure by the end of this Ben will be regressed to the point of no return.
  9. A highly reliable Twitter source that has been confirmed real many times is stating that Billy Flynn is leaving DAYS. Nothing official yet if true, but the person has yet to be wrong. I'm assuming they'll write Chad and Abby off together. I can't believe I may actually be free of this awful couple.
  10. Yeah exactly, she probably just said to RSW "You should have a contract here!" jokingly after a scene to him and RSW took the comment and ran with it. Which I get, but in no way does she influence anyone on the show. Especially now. Look how many times she herself was fired or jerked around by DAYS despite Greg and Ken both being there for years now. Even Chandler, who she adores and is very close with, she even had a going away party for at her own home for him after he was basically thrown off set and fired one day. It didn't stop them from not pushing GW on us as you mentioned, even though we all know she had to be PISSED at how CM was treated. It all boils down to them probably needing a character that is expendable and can do things and get away with it, such as murder. Ben is pretty much a plot point, who I'm sure will begin his descent into madness again (if it hasn't already happened yet). Based on today you can clearly see that we're in for a Tripp/Ciara/Ben triangle with Claire thrown in. In the end Tripp will end up with Ciara, it's coming and dislike all four of those characters so it's not even a preference thing.
  11. I personally feel like the Deidre comment was probably her mentioning it once or twice in an offhand way after a scene with him. I doubt she camped out waiting at Greg Meng's or Ken C's offices or called them insistently trying to convince them that they should rehire RSW, but it's a nice compliment in general coming from her, so I get why RSW mentions it in the interview. I don't know. Ron C is very superficial and he hired TC based on the fact that he's friends with him and worked with him on General Hospital. I say the fact he needed someone on the canvas (who could also potentially be a throwaway character later on) once RC gets fired or they need to kill off/prop up another character up. Ben is essentially a ticking time bomb, similar to Nick Fallon who they half way redeemed then tanked him again for drama's sake. I think once RSW's contract is up he'll probably move on anyways, he's in his early thirties now (he'll be 32-33ish when his contract is up, if it is indeed a two-year one) with a decent body so it's do or die when it comes to breaking into primetime and he seems to want to expand further outside of daytime.
  12. As a Will and Paul fan, I would completely support this. It seems like it's too soon for the identity of the person behind the notes to come out, so I'm hoping they suspect it to be Ted only for it to be someone else. I think giving Paul back some of his edge would be good, especially when it comes to potentially losing Will if he suspects an affair. I don't think he is "jealous or clingy", he's nowhere near Sonny level back in November-March 2017/2018, he just clearly knows something is affecting Will and is protective/concerned although is assuming that he is probably cheating (not that I blame him since Will has been acting extra stretchy). It seems stupid that Will doesn't admit the murder cover up to Paul, (I know he doesn't want to implicate him) but Paul sort of tipped Will off as to how he would react or who he would blame when it comes to something happening to Leo, but I guess it is necessary to the storyline to have Will keep lying. But yeah, I wish they would go there and have it be Paul, it would be such an interesting twist.
  13. LMAO, I kind of figured. I guess they said that on their vlog or Q&A; which I don't watch. It is nice knowing that I called it though. I'm sure there will be "fans" there too, gotta pay for the wedding somehow right? It would honestly be in Freddie's best interest to distance himself from social media in general, or at the very least not be so attention starved and slimy (but of course he never will). As rcc stated, they told the judge that they were a newly engaged couple when Freddie went to court for his drunk driving case to gain sympathy and try to soften the judge to serve him a lesser sentence, since they were trying to "start their lives and pay for the wedding.. etc). It was all fake, but it worked since his girlfriend nearly died and I'm pretty sure he caused her to break over 10 bones in various locations in her body because of the impact, yet all he got was community service. The fact she stayed with him (mind you she was drinking too) makes it seem like she's desperate for the small ounce of "fame" from DAYS fans she gets from being with him. I mean sure she's in love with him (I guess?) but I would seriously be reconsidering my relationship if I were in her shoes. Idk, they're both equally awful imo.
  14. She did. She's just as slimy as he is, but I place more blame on him since he uses the platform DAYS gave him to take advantage of his fans. I'm honestly waiting for them to sell tickets to the wedding and I'd be shocked if they don't live stream the event for select people who pay. It's coming.
  15. Has Sonny's actual age ever been mentioned on screen since Freddie started? I know he was born back in or around 1991 and it was confirmed via phone call that the birth occurred but he was never on screen until 2011, but they could have/probably aged him up. I think it makes sense for Sonny to be older than Will, 29 or 30 would make sense but I'm just wondering if they ever mentioned it. I can't remember.
