Again, assuming if it's not producer-driving drama/selective editing.

This. I'm wary of judging Michael yet.  We're only getting Amy's side of things.

What was with Chris' wife and the snacks? She's usually quiet. That was just odd.

  2. At least we didn't have Artem and another Bachelorette winning. I agree she would've been eliminated last week, and that's why we got the final five.

The Christmas dance was sweet. Good to have great hosts and no Tyra.

My mother usually only cares about the Houghs and Mark, but she really enjoyed Jason's freestyle last night and was rooting for him. Xochitl is a good dancer, but I'd rather Jason won. I'm sure Val has a lot of fans though.

Alyson wasn't going to win, but I agree with those who thought she should've got 10s on her freestyle.

Overall, it was a good season.

Soap Opera Digest recently interviewed Josh Griffith (Y&R Executive Producer/Head Writer) and it was an eye-opener. JG apparently thinks he's daytime TV's Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe all wrapped up into one. The article is posted here:

Exclusive: YOUNG AND RESTLESS's Josh Griffith On The Eve Shocker!

As example of the interview's what the whatery, there was this exchange (bold part = SOD question):

Oh FFS, it might as well have been a Bratz doll if no one without a certain historical knowledge of dolls would get the reference. I mean, doesn't this look just like Victoria:

I'd posit the interview proved the Peter Principle is still in effect. JG has arguably reached his highest level of incompetence in the soap opera business.

He was compared to the late Douglas Marland, a great writer for As the World Turns in an interview. He's getting too big for his britches.

  4. My conspiracy theory(do I need a tinfoil hat?) is the bachelorette got the least votes, and they're pushing her because it's an ABC show. I don't like the Bachelor franchise so I may be biased. If she wins, I'm going to be a full-time conspiracy theorist. lol

And then I must be feeling really sensitive because seeing Xochitl's face about to burst into tears made me feel bad

I felt like an alien after the tears and reactions to Xochi's waltz last night from the panel as a dance for all time because while a perfectly nice dance, it made zero emotional impression on me. It was...fine?

Xochitl is a good dancer, but she's not doing much for me. Mark had a partner, she played the sister in the Hunger Games, who cried when she was eliminated. She was 15.

  6. The Newman storyline is not perfect, but this is the most interested I've been in this show in years. Colleen Zenk was a great actress on As the World Turns playing good and evil. I say great soap ladies from the past should terrorize the Newmans once a month. Susan Lucci, Kim Zimmer, etc.   I saw Nick in the chaos, and he didn't look distressed, more like he had to burp.

  7. I thought for sure Sasha and Alyson were going. The Bachelorette is not going anywhere. Glad Harry left.

Shake it off is the only TS song I know. All the little signs and hand tattoos were lost on me. I feel like there is Swifty speak I can't decipher.

Glad Pasha is going to his first semi finals.

Man, I am loving all these theories about Claire. When was the last time the viewers were so intrigued by a storyline?

I haven't been this interested in years. As an As the World Turns viewer to the end, I was shocked/pleased to see Colleen Zenk. Y and R is bring back old soap people like Guiding Light's Josh Lewis(Ashland), I just hope this storyline is better than his.

I wasn't watching Y and R much around the Cole era. Victoria's daughter kidnaps Grandma? It makes Victoria interesting for once. The end of the writer's strike must've generated other ideas besides Josh's.

Ok so somehow tomorrow’s Y&R showed up in my YouTube feed and at the end Aunt Jordan appeared.

She looks familiar.  I think she played someone named Beth? Barbara? Belinda? on a CBS soap which I think is As the World Turns?

I just read tomorrow's recap. It's Colleen Zenk who played Barbara on As The World Turns for a long time. I watched ATWT until the end, and this surprised me. First time I got surprised by soap in a long time. I didn't see any spoilers.
