  1. At this point 13 years on its still amazing to hear fans being disappointed after a Marvel movie or show because of the plot not being completely resolved and being just a set up for the future. It's a feature not a bug. This is what happens when you have something that visually looks like a video game but really is a soap opera.
  2. Seems a lot of die hard Loki/Hiddleston fans online are complaining that the show wasn't about Loki at all but the TVA and Kang and that he was "out of character". I thought "What? It was all about Loki and he went through this big hero's journey." That long shot of him sitting after Sylvie kicked him to the TVA was a major turning point for him. I realize now they don't want him to change. They wanted the old mischievous Loki doing time travel shenanigans and causing chaos. Quentin Tarantino was on Joe Rogan recently saying how he preferred Chevy Chase movie characters to Bill Murray ones because a Murray character starts out as a jerk but then becomes a better person by the end of the movie whereas Chevy never changes! He's always a jerk!
  3. My take is it's a very good Phase One movie that would have been one of the best IMO if it actually came out during Phase One.
  4. I love this moment in Men in Black 2: While filming director Barry Sonnenfeld just came by Will Smith's trailer and Biz Markie was hanging out and they were doing this crazy beatboxing to each other and Sonnenfeld decided to put it and him in the movie!
  5. I'm relieved Crosshair didn't kill Howzer. I wonder if his name is a reference to Duke from GI:Joe's real name Conrad Hauser?
  6. "Overlook" is the wrong word because that's impossible. I should have said "You just have to go with it." It's like how Cuba Gooding Jr. looked NOTHING like O.J. Simpson in The People vs O.J. Simpson. You just have to go with it when you watch it!
  7. Yeah no de-aging technology was going to make DeNiro look in his 30s again. I think of it though like Jimmy Stewart in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence where he was supposed to be playing much younger through most of the story even though he doesn't look like Mr Smith anymore. Theres no attempt with makeup to hide his age. You just have to overlook it.
  8. Judging by Sheeran's sideburns early 70s when he was in his early 50s. Heat/Casno era Deniro would have had to put on some weight to play him. Hoffa was in his early 60s by then so he would have been in his 50s in the earlier scenes so Devil's Advocate era Pacino would have also had to gain weight to play him.
  9. I think the de-aging works if you look at what the real Frank Sheeran and Jimmy Hoffa looked like. DeNiro and Pacino weren't supposed to look like they were in the movie HEAT again they were supposed to look like: This film reminded me of AMADEUS, which also eschews historical accuracy to tell a more dramatic character story so it doesn't matter ito me if the IRISHMAN is what really happened or not. However whereas in AMADEUS, old Salieri relating his tale was basically just a framing device to tell the main story in flashback, the elderly Sheeran telling his story is what the movie is about. It involving Hoffa makes it more historic and famous but in the end it could have been about any one the mob wanted killed who was close to Frank. Like probably some of you I thought the killing of Hoffa was going to be the climax and was surprised there was still a lot of movie left. Then I watched it and realized It's about the elegaic tone which we didn't get in Scorsese's previous gangster movies. The most effecting moment for me was towards the end with DeNiro and Pesci in prison and the latter now so frail, trembling dipping bread in grape juice. We finally see a Pesci mobster live to an old age instead of being whacked early on and it might be the saddest and depressing fate of all. Maybe its because of a year of this pandemic made me more aware of my mortality and how life is short but I was moved by that final half hour.
  10. Pic of Phoebe Waller-Bridge on the INDY 5 set in Glasgow:
  11. Kids today cannot fathom what an insane time the early 2000s were if you were a young celebrity!
  12. To be fair, this isn't the dymamic "Conqueror" version this is the old, weary and a little mad survivor. Even if Sylvie did believe "He who remains" I don't see her running the TVA and doing whats been done to her. I don't see Loki doing that either after the arc he just went through. No matter what possible greater good it's still eliminating timelines and killing countless lives. The reason the variants had their memories erased and made believe they were created by Timekeepers was because any sane person would be horrified to do it.
  13. I thought he was more Immortus than Kang. Kang is the younger version who's more dangerous. I was genuinely surprised to see him. I thought it was going to be another Mephisto or Reed Richards situation where fans were just speculating online.
  14. He is skinny in the pilot episode I saw but judging from this later seasons pic he started hitting the gym more:
  15. Or when Mac's buddy(David Graf) is sitting in the cafeteria, is accidentally bumped by the dead Japanese guy while eating a hot dog and starts choking, Mac does the Heimlich maneuver and the piece of hot dog flies out and lands in Dan's coffee cup while he isn't looking. He takes a sip and says to the girl he's with in a Spanish accent "Ah, Colombian, the richest kind!" like the coffee commercial!
  16. To this day I remember when Mac's wife Quon Li's large family come over from Vietnam and her grandfather played by Key Luke announces something in Vietnamese and Quon Li translates they're threatening to kill themselves unless they stay with them and Mac dryly snarks "Those are butter knives. What are they going to do, spread themselves to death?" Thinking about it, Mac was one the best Vietnam veteran characters in TV. I like when his buddy played by Tackleberry from the Police Academy movies who saved Mac's life now wants a favor in return to get him out of jail. That episode also had Key Luke, this time playing a Japanese ambassador who dies and it's sort of a "Weekend at Bernie's" situation with his dead body in a motorized wheelchair going around the courthouse but nobody could find him!
