Carla was also a model, right? Before she started cooking, IIRC. And Padma was a model. I can see it working. (Not that the person should have all of Padma's attributes; they're replacing the host, not the person.) Carla is also warm and quirky and just lovely in general. And she knows about food. If not, I can see Gail doing it. I also remembered Aisha Tyler being on Top Chef many, many seasons ago and Whose Line is it Anyway? is done (where she's been hosting), so she might be a possibility. She's a foodie and she's been a host and she's funny (she's a stand-up comic too). A couple of things: the hair, the hair, the hair. Why does someone with the longest hair not tie her hair back when she cooks? How does it not catch on fire? And if I auditioned or even thought of auditioning for a cooking show, wouldn't I at least try doing something I'd never tried before such as...baking? Have these people never watched television?

I was really, really surprised how wrongheaded Bill was being about it, and then I remembered he thinks this is an edgy take and his right-wing friends will totally invite him to their...whatever they do for fun. And maybe it's because it's a weekly show so if feels like a broken record, but...how many times can he make fun of trigger warnings, COVID protocols, "woke"ness? He is fast becoming the echo chamber he accuses every other network of doing. If he were on every evening, he'd have to come up with different topics, right? And his interest in ageism sprouted when he turned 60. Hmm. I wonder why.

Same. I was going back and forth between the Red Sox/Yankees game and this and saw Piers Morgan and heard something about "this generation" and its "anxiety" and that's it. A baseball aftershow is more enjoyable at this point.

I'm finally (finally!) watching this because it made it to Netflix...with all the flashbacks, I started imagining what if Sandra Oh came back for just these final two episodes, and she brought Villanelle with her...and how would Villanelle kill all of them? She bores so easily.

Yeah, I think I said this in last week's thread: if I were in that audience, I would be afraid to react to anything he says. He scolds them if they don't laugh, if they laugh in the wrong places, if they applaud in the wrong places, if they do nothing...I wonder if he has a warm-up person and if so, what do they say? Laugh at your own risk?

He also thinks when there isn't laughter, it's because the audience is offended. Uh, sometimes it's not FUNNY, Bill.

It was telling when Barro asked her whom she was supporting on the GOP side and she wouldn't answer. IIRC, he may have teed up DeSantis for her and she wouldn't bite one way or another. She wouldn't go out on that limb, not this time. Not after she badmouthed her guy before 2016. (I can't remember if this happened during the regular show or Overtime.)

For the life of me...I couldn't think of why no one was challenging her with even a moment of this. If *I'm* sitting on *my* couch and have these rejoinders at the ready, why wouldn't his staff? Or why wouldn't he? After all, at the top he told his audience he watched the hearing so we wouldn't have to, so he must be super informed. And then I think, he must think this overtalking-each-other bit is...entertainment? No, Bill Maher-a-lago. It's not.

Yeah, I watch on the Bravo website and I've been spoiled by their screenshots in the past, so I "blur" my eyes a little while I'm looking for both Top Chef and LCK each week...this time it said "Watch the latest episode," of LCK so I did. And that had Jamie winning against Gabriel. And I thought that was it until I came here. So thanks for the heads-up, everyone! I also didn't understand that Sasha is back as LCK champ, so thanks again!

Did you know that if people weren't fat they wouldn't have died from COVID? No? Well, hopefully you watched tonight so you could hear Bill rant about it for the elevendy-seventh time. We get it, Bill. Fat people are unhealthy and ridiculous. Just like religion is bad and make believe. Hey, at least he didn't yell at his audience tonight for groaning or not laughing. Sometimes (oftentimes) your jokes just aren't funny. Funny there was no mention of Sharon Osborne's many-million-dollars payday after her departure from The Talk. What a useless twit she is. She and Piers should definitely do a show together. He can get a peek at her other tit this time.

I was pleasantly surprised to see old Top Chef Masters contestants (Susan Feniger, Neil Fraser). I have to find those episodes and rewatch. She's always a hoot (she was the one who wouldn't stop eating). I was bummed for Declan and I keep saying I can't imagine Gordon picking a purple-haired chef to run a restaurant. But what do I know? Her talking heads have been entertaining and I don't think she's said "momma" once. My money's still on Cori.

They definitely emphasized it more in the beginning—but then leaned away after that. (I can't cite specific examples, but I know it was there.) She hasn't gotten that much air time, and when she pointed out that she hadn't been up for elimination, I realized that's why. She hasn't brought the drama. And she doesn't wear a purple wig. And she doesn't sweat profusely. I'll be shocked if she doesn't win. She's...presentable.

I just rewatched season 10* (Christina's season), knowing the outcome of course. It seemed clear as day that he would pick Christina (hindsight, I know). My point is, there's no way Amber would be running one of his restaurants. Nor Mary Lou. I think it'll be down to Cory and Kori and I'll be happy with either one. I don't see Declan winning. *It's amazing what I'll resort to when I'm procrastinating on something else, lol. AMAZING.

So is Rudy now the boss of first-guest Jenna, Evangelical Trump Apologizer Extraordinaire? (Per tonight's news, which I assume came out after this taping.) Because those would be fun court appearances.

I just finished season 2, episode 17 (Jules' Pledge of Allegiance gaffe—Richard Stans—and Bobby "Wrong Balls" Cobb) and during the end credits, there are stills of the cast from the episode but the closed captioning is Bobby doing some kind of commercial for a sub shop, maybe? I think he got the endorsement because of the "Wrong Balls" fame. But why the incongruity? I'm on my second rewatch and I don't remember this from before. I thought the stills were a joke at first because it just looked like other TV shows.

I swear in that press conference someone said they'd been training together for two years. I actually said to myself: Good. This means they all know each other so there won't be any unnecessary drama. Ha, me. I also wonder if a couple would decide to have children if they knew there was a possibility one of them would go away for a long time and oh yeah, there's a 50-50 chance of survival. But yes, drama. I'm just not interested in it. And really, it's not cool that the husband has the answers and is even involved in this mission in the first place. The Robinsons were more businesslike and less emotional than these people. Except maybe Penny. I think she cried sometimes. Oh and Dr. Smith was a blubbering fool, but technically, he wasn't a Robinson.
