  1. They're really amping up the tension and building up the anticipation episode by episode. I hope the mystery of who Jack really is amounts to something good. Irumodic syndrome was mentioned as only a disease and why it was uncurable was never explained. Though a quick search revealed in memory beta the origins of it, I hope it's more than the changelings wanting to control timelines and predict future events that Jack's capture is relevant to. Previous comments have found similarities in the plot of other series and ST:Picard and I will add "Edge of Tomorrow" to that list.
  2. In general, I think this episode answered many questions that arose in our minds while watching the 3rd episode. Why Jack did not choose to get to know his father after he was told of his identity, if Vadic is a changeling (though there are some details to be ironed out), whether Vadic had a handler/superior, whether Vadic wanted Jack dead or just captured. Shaw's conversation with Seven about how he would say Seven is a good first officer and would make a excellent captain some day, if he weren't a douchebag, and Shaw's story of how he met Picard/Locutus are beautiful touches to explain how he has been behaving from the start. Now, he seems more like an at least fairly competent captain with a fragile soul behind some thick psychological walls, in other words, less like an adversary to the main characters and plainly just more human. Jack's visions are not even partly explained, let's cross our fingers in the next episode for that.
  3. We virtually know nothing about Vadic, yet she seems to know about everyone. She knew Picard was synthetic. She knew Captain Shawn's psychological history. I doubt that kind of information is common knowledge because everyone was at a loss for any quickwit replies. That portal weapon would be a lot more useful if it did not work only short range and in times of battle. If the founders want revenge, it's plausible they would want an on-demand portal to transport themselves from the gamma quadrant. The portal weapon was stolen from the Daystrom Institute, right? What else could be stolen that the portal weapon was a distraction? The stolen portal weapon is fairly new, yet shape-shifting impostors or the like are probably from before Bajor's prophets' wormhole was destroyed. The founders did say they implanted little new members of their species throughout the galaxy only for them to come home to the gamma quadrant later. They might have formed a secret organization for their revenge. This implies The Shrike works for the changelings or Vadic is one. It doesn't explain why Vadic would need Jack Crusher to fall in that gravity hole, since she clearly doesn't want him dead,. How exactly were they chased into that specific nebula that Vadic needed to send Jack into the middle of? Is there something Beverly and Jack know that they're not telling the rest of the crew? Picard's strategizing capabilities were fine until he told Riker that they should hide, who nicely told Shaw the same. He did not assess Titan's capabilities, did not try maneuvering while shooting, did not specify where to target, did not look for vulnerabilities of the Shrike. Too much away from from Starfleet that he did not know decommissioned starbases, and now Riker throws him out of the bridge for essentially killing them all. How much of it is dementia, because last season everything was OK? How much of it is degradation of his synthetic self? I think they made it clear last season that he was a synth but not immortal.
  4. I think the timeline is now, but in an alternate timeline/universe. what I'm trying to say is that, Lucifer was talking to Dan after Lucifer found the body in his club and in their conversation, Lucifer clearly referenced the dead woman in the pilot episode (season 1 episode 1). Lucifer was saying to Dan that he did not like how Dan closed the case, or that he couldn't close it, can't remember clearly. But it was sure that they had met before, and didn't like each other. it was funny how Dan referenced Lucifer as a douche-bag, when it was Lucifer who was calling Dan that all the time in the original timeline/universe. I really liked the narrator (God)'s explanations about people being given different choices and becoming different people, but still asking if they are essentially the same person. It's also funny God himself only asks the question and not answer it, as if the answer is different every time or even that he doesn't know. although not intended, I agree with the idea that it's a fitting finale for the series.
  5. Did anyone notice that Chloe may have a vulnerability effect on Lt. Pierce/Cain too? I remember he was shot, if I remember correctly, trying to save Chloe from the bullets. I really hope this was indeed planned, as it should lead to interesting plot points.
