It makes a huge difference in building permits. Doing a remodel vs. new build will save tens of thousands of dollars depending on where you live. The "shack" had water, electricity, septic/sewage, etc. all in place. Much easier to finance as well. I vote for that since I live in Hawaii! It would be my only chance to have a Joanna -designed home! I think they upgraded to central air/heat. You cannot live in Texas without ac!
