I think it was easier for Sandy to find a 3rd stew than a chef. Anastasia did a great job this charter so she promoted her to full time chef and hired another stew.  However, because Anastasia is a new/untrained chef, Travis is needed in the galley to cook for the crew.  This leaves the deck crew short staffed.  Poor Travis did not sign up for that.  What Sandy should have done was either hire an assistant chef or arrange for most of the  crew meals to be brought in from shore.  Is there not Pizza or other fast food in the Med?  I am not being snarky I am really curious about the fast food available in the French Mediteranean.  🙂

I think the crew could have other options for food as well. IIRC, the camera/production crew are fed by a chef on another boat during filming. Not sure why the same can’t be done for the yacht crew as well in a low staffing situation.

Anastasia is not ready to be a chef for a luxury yacht. It seems she’s a good cook, which is great, but is not experienced enough for this kind of work. I could see her getting very flustered. I find it hard to believe that there isn’t a list of standby chefs for this very situation that the yacht  operators can contact in a pinch. I suppose the issue is complicated by the fact that this is a reality show and drama is more appealing. What better way to bring drama than move Anastasia to the galley so soon after Hannah said she felt she had the best crew ever or when Joao has a deck crew member who seems to get by with a smile and jokes without doing actual work.

  2. Carlin’s wedding looked really pretty. I have to assume they received some kind of discount because with 500 guests, a seated reception is at least at the higher end of five figures. I wonder if she was inspired by Whitney and Zach’s vow renewal and realized a wedding doesn’t just have to be cake and punch. Carlin’s wedding seems like the type of wedding Alyssa would have had if the funding was there.

  3. Honeymoons don’t have to be expensive. My cousin went to New Orleans for hers, had a fabulous time, and didn’t go into debt doing it. I supposed after a 200K wedding, a luxurious honeymoon in Tahiti or Bali is in order, but if you don’t have it like that, adjust the trip to your budget. Chris manages a restaurant and Candiace gets paid for this show...they cannot pool together a couple of thousand for a honeymoon??? Tragic.

I really didn’t see it that way at all. It seemed like one of those pre-arranged couple things. Like, get me away if I am engaged in a pointless circular conversation with someone I don’t get along with.

Chris had a valid point about Monique apologizing to Sherman. Dragging up his past to be constantly replayed on the show is not cool. And I’m convinced that’s why he’s inconsistent with Gizelle. Dating her and loving her doesn’t mean his business should be on blast. And considering there seems to be some unspoken code about not bringing up Gizelle’s ex- husband and his scandals on camera, she should have done more to protect Sherman.

Big Chris seems to be clued in about how these HW franchises destroy marriages and he’s trying to rein Monique in and protect what they have. Till I see otherwise, I’m firmly Team Big Chris.

I agree. I actually prefer Chris to the other husbands who are all too gleeful when their wives are involved in foolishness. What Monique did was not a good look and Chris seems the type who is very serious about how their appear on television. When he said he didn’t want an issue with Sherman, he meant it.

I am sure Monique went to Gizelle to apologize at a producer’s prompting, but all Chris cares about is that his pregnant wife is engaged in yet another argument with Gizelle at someone’s wedding. I like that he stepped in. They were at someone’s wedding...it wasn’t the time or place to have this discussion. I wish producers would stop trying to force such conversations at weddings. Happened on RHOA, too.

  5. Robyn and Juan just make me uncomfortable. I sense absolutely no romantic chemistry. They seem like good friends who happen to have kids together and don’t mind having sex when they have a minute. If they get back together officially, I will be surprised. Something just seems like it’s missing between them. Plus, who can forget Juan telling a producer that he doesn’t want to be with Robyn and not realizing he still had the mic on?

I loved Candiace’s wedding venue. So pretty! I didn’t love her dress, but she seemed so happy. She looked like a doll. I was a little concerned that her straps kept falling...seems like something that should have been fixed before the wedding day.

I don’t know what to think of Sherman. I think he should have told Gizelle what the problem was way before the wedding, but I also think he’s still rightfully mad about Monique and his ex working together to put his business out there. Even if the information was already out there, I don’t think he appreciated that it was dug up.There are implications to that for him and his children. Gizelle recently said that she needs to find someone who accepts her as she is, including the show and her public life. I think Sherman was resisting filming, but still cared about Gizelle. He handled this situation pretty badly though and I hope Gizelle moves on.

You really find out who your friends are when you're planning a wedding, huh? The only good thing to come from this is those hyenas are out of Eva's life. No one needs that kind of negativity around. Any "friend" that would tell your business, regardless of whether or not the friendship is over, is trash personified.

I mean, I just don't understand why Marlo cares if Eva is bi/had same-sex experiences. Unless she lowkey wants to sleep with her, then why bring it up? Let me answer my own question, it's because Marlo's a bitch whose form of joy in life, besides being a tacky label whore, is making others miserable.

All of this. I actually feel for Eva because now whenever she looks at her wedding pictures, she’ll see former friends who didn’t hesitate to sell her out. One of whom was living in her home for years. Shame.

I really want Marlo off of this show. If it’s true that Shamari lost the peach, I’m disappointed. She deserves at least one more season. From the Zara gift card to calling Marlo a convict with a lisp, I thought she was hilarious. Shamari starred in one of the biggest movies of all time that is still quoted left and right and was part of a girl group most people remember.  Marlo is known for questionable money sources and mugshots.

On the topic of Cynthia, I can see her lying about Kenya because she almost always has come off scared of Nene. Even when they’ve fallen out in the past, she still made it clear that she loves her and wants to be in her life. I think she’s felt like she must keep kissing Nene’s ass and it’s a shame because she’s such a sweet woman who deserves a much better friend.

I only heard her mention money once; and it was in regards to the fish on the wall that Barbara threatened to cover. I don't think she was bragging. I think she was letting her know - you damage my room, this is how much it will cost you to fix it. I just remember the year Ramona (and/or Sonja?) damaged one of her rooms by trying to remove things from the walls, etc. I think she was just being protective and proactive.

This! I also think Dorinda is on guard whenever the women are in her home because while some are respectful, Tinsley, others can be quite disrespectful, like Sonja.

Next to cheesy Halloween decorations sits many expensive prices I am sure. I don’t blame her for making sure her guests know that she doesn’t want her valuables damaged. Barb is a weird one...who says they’re going to cover up someone’s wall decor?

I hope Dorinda doesn’t get fed up with the bad manners of her guests and stop hosting at Blue Stone Manor !! Dorinda should start having them draw numbers for room assignments.

Maybe they didn’t show it, but not one of them brought a hostess gift for Dorinda.

I would have made hotel reservations for Barb the builder.

Speaking of hotel reservations- Luann tells the hotel manager to arrange a room for her, which he did, after which she cavalierly hollers at him that she is staying at Dorinda’s after all ( but keep that room handy just in case). What an entitled cow.

I think they did bring a gift. Ramona or Sonja held a bouquet of yellow flowers as they approached the home.

But yes, I can’t get over Luann’s behavior. If this is her attempt at redeeming her reputation, she’s failing miserably. She’s a cabaret “star” now and acts like she’s Barbara Streisand or Celine Dion.

  9. Dorinda, please extend an invite to me to attend a sleepover at your Manor! I’m polite, I don’t complain, I respect hosts, and I won’t drink all of your wine!

The way Luann acted was really appalling. I never bought the humble act that she tried to sell after rehab. She is still the same rude woman. Dorinda bent over backwards to accommodate her and it still wasn’t good enough. I wish she had left and gone to a hotel. There was nothing wrong with the fish room. Dorinda has always had unique decor - it is who she is! Either respect it or get the hell out of her home. And I think Dorinda apologized yet again because she doesn’t want the  beef with Lu hanging over her this entire season. I get it.

I kind of feel bad about the jokes about the Bear Naked chef. I feel pretty comfortable saying that the ladies are not his type and that he is usually hired to cater parties for men who enjoy his look.

How does she keep getting work?  I didn't watch her in Glee or New Normal.  Is she any good as an actor, or is she cast because of name familiarity?

Nene’s not a good actress. A scene from How High 2 was recently released and she’s in it. She was herself x10. Very awkward to watch.

I watched an adorable made for television Christmas movie last year that starred Kandi and Kandi is a far better actress.

I generally really like Cynthia and I am glad she's happy but that hashtag is terrible.

I think she’s just genuinely happy for the first time in a while. Her marriage to Peter was no cakewalk and now she’s with a seemingly mature and well-adjusted man who wants to marry her. She’s cheesy, but I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Re: the discussion about Jazz moving out, how refreshing to see both Greg and Jeanette finally stand up to her and give her some straight talk.  About time!

I totally agree. Let's be real, her parents have spent an obscene amount of money on Jazz (way more than her siblings) and she doesn't seem to appreciate it one bit. I assume she has her own money as well, but based on her dad saying he wasn't going to pay her phone bill and other items, it seems Jazz is living a nice, cushy life without having to dip into money she's earned. Living on your own gets expensive quickly and even if Ahmir moved to be with her, he has no job or means to contribute to a household.

I think Jazz wants to be able to have Ahmir visit so they can do whatever without her parents insisting she keep the door open.

  12. I am catching up on episodes so my reply is a bit late. What the hell at Jazz randomly meeting this guy online and him suddenly becoming her boyfriend. He has no job, no career aspirations, and no interest in going to college....a catch he is not. I understand that 19 is the age where people are still trying to figure themselves out as I was there at one time, but I still worked so I could have some semblance of independence and I attended school. What does he plan on doing if he moves closer to Jazz?

Jazz talking about her libido and wanting to sexually explore with partners was interesting. I really hope she isn't dating Ahmir just so she can have sex. I know she said she plans to wait until marriage, but it's clear she's open to different possibilities. I just hope she chooses the right guy.

This family is living such a completely different lifestyle than they would be without the tv show (as is the case with most reality tv 'stars'), and for some reason, it really really irritates me with this family.  I wish I knew why I'm so bothered by it.

That's all. Carry on, my snarky friends.

I am not bothered by it, but I can see why someone would be. I mean, let's be real, before the show, they were no different than other grifting fundies (and they haven't changed that much as Carlin has already linked and mentioned her wedding registry on her IG). Once the show came along, the Bates suddenly had access to money and experiences that they couldn't afford on their own dime. They looked like they were struggling financially before and now, they seem like they are doing okay. Although that could also be because most of the adult children have means of making money - Zach is a police officer, Michaela has created a successful small business selling baby blankets, Erin still teaches music, Alyssa is making use of sponsorships on IG, Trace seems to be working in law enforcement, Lawson has his tree business and his questionable music career, etc.

I am very curious about their contract with UP though. It's such a small network that I wonder how much they get paid per season. Do they have bonuses for weddings and births? It seems they have to split the money with every adult, at least.

  14. I thought about Whitney's situation a bit, and I think she likely won't share the details of her past because it not only involves herself, but her parents. It's their story as well. I can respect the desire for privacy and honestly, I don't care what she did or did not do. I just hope everyone has made peace. it's a terrible thing to not reconcile with loved ones until it's too late.

Not surprised that Whitney wore such a modern dress to the renewal. Honestly, the first wedding looked terrible and it was clear the Bates controlled the whole thing. I don't know what Whitney's style was like before Zach, but I doubt she was wearing ankle length dresses while working at Sonic. I am sure Kelly guilted Whitney into more modest wedding dresses than she would have actually worn. Now, Whitney and Zach are working and can afford their dream wedding, probably make six figures between them, so it is not surprising that they did a modern do-over.

Josie's dress was beautiful. I think it was fine as is and didn't need the modifications that Kelly suggested. It's pretty telling now that if you look at Josie's IG, she's wearing jeans and sleeveless tops now. Kelly may say the girls want to wear modest attire, but it's clear that some of the older daughters are itching to dress like other young women their age. I think Tori, Michael, and Erin have stuck to the modesty rules, but Alyssa, Josie, and Carlin (who had a bathing suit under a cover-up this summer) would prefer not to be super modest.

  15. As far as Larissa’s career aspirations are concerned, she did mention on IG a while ago that once she could legally work, she was going to come out with an activewear line. I found that reminiscent of Paola saying she wanted to bring her shoe line to the US. It’s not easy at all to break into that market. Larissa would have been better off planning to go to school.

  16. I read that the GFM was taken down because you cannot use the website to request assistance with legal fees, particularly if it’s in defense of an alleged violent crime. The rules are on GFM’s website.

I have been on vacation for a week and had no idea Larissa and Colt were imploding. I hope they are done and officially divorcing. If it’s true Larissa injured herself, she needs to seek legit help from a qualified psychiatrist. She’s clearly unwell. Colt is my better.

  18. I forgot to mention the awkward moment when Asuelu said he didn’t think Kalani needed financial support for the baby. Since it seems Samoan men take pride in taking care of their family, I’m surprised Asuelu thought Kalani wouldn’t need his help. Yes, she has generous family members, but surely he could have sent Kalani some money for diapers or something.

When Fernanda couldn't reach her mother on the wedding day, I was hoping for her sake that a last-minute visa had been approved and mama was on her way.  Jon's mother on the other hand was probably wishing that she had visa issues so that her grandma-sitting excuse wouldn't have looked so lame on tv.

I figured her mom wasn’t coming, but I found it strange her dad didn’t make it. Maybe he did and I missed it, but I’m pretty sure he lives in the US. Maybe he plans to go to the Mexican wedding instead.

  21. I assume Colt borrowed his mother’s suit and that’s why she ended up in a blouse and jeans. I was shocked by her attire. She didn’t have to wear a dress or skirt. Was a nice pantsuit completely out of the question? Then Cousin Colt was sitting there in his work clothes.

On a shallow note, it is very natural to wonder if something is wrong with you if someone cheats with someone who looks nothing like you. I definitely have. I didn’t disparage the person’s looks, but I did wonder what she gave that I didn’t or couldn’t. She looked to be the exact opposite of me. So I am not surprised Ashley’s mind went there.

Leida’s dress was a big fat no. She should have gone for something with an empire waist or A-line silhouette. I don’t even feel bad that she chose such an unflattering gown because she’s an awful person.

My heart kind of warmed when Asuelu was teaching Kalini the traditional Samoan dance at the reception. I think he really loves her and I suppose in her own way, she loves him as well.
