    I finally found the time to post my thoughts on Third Watch after years of wanting to see the show, thinking that perhaps it wouldn't happen since it wasn't actually on any streaming platforms until one day, I saw all six seasons were on Roku. So, without any throwback shows to binge, I delved in. 

    And I will say that my favorite season is Season 2. It felt like the show finally gelled with more character interaction, and I was more invested in the episodes than I was in Season 1, except for a few standouts. It felt balanced with the stories of the paramedic/firefighter and the police. But in a way, I could see why Bobby Cannavale chose to leave the series because the series had developed most of the characters except for Bobby, which made me feel like the writers didn't have a firm hand in the character. I mean, it took his death to have him have an introspective episode. Yet a memorable scene was at the end of the episode when Bobby died, as each character got their own reaction as "Only Time" by Enya concluded with Kim, who knew him the longest and was his partner, who his death would have the most effect on.

    Nonetheless, I have to say my least favorite season is 6, which is the series' last. Someone from the OZ Network blog Ranking Every Episode of Third Watch – The Oz Network (wordpress.com) had the enormous task of ranking every episode of the series, and I had to agree with their assessment that the season's episodes felt like they came out of Criminal Minds and CSI. And they did, as I remember the now heavily police-focused episodes centering on serial killers and a mobster out for revenge. While the firefighters were thrown a tiny bone and the paramedics were hanging on by a trembling thread. And don't get me started on those vampire worshipers holding Emily hostage in the second to last episode. Sigh... 

    Regardless of the quality of the writing, I will say the cast never brought anything less than their A game.

    Third Watch - General Discussion

    FYI: All Six seasons of Third Watch our all on Roku. 

    It's a show I always wanted to check and thought it would turn up on Peacock since it aired on NBC back in the day. 

    Currently I'm on Season 5 and will have more thoughts on the series as a whole when I'm done with it.

    Maybe perhaps not showing it during the Graveyard shift might've helped with those ratings? IDK Didn't TNT used to re-air NYPD Blue in the mornings?

    And yes, for my own mental health, I have to imagine Serena has zero interest in Franco, that when Scotty mentions him, all she hears is that sound the adults make in "Peanuts" cartoons.  I mean, Serena's already busy bailing her wild child sister Christina out of messes! #showinmyhead

    I wish the show would have invested n Serena and Christina as adults on this show. But of course they rather focus on Sasha and Willow....

    S08.E05: Episode 5

    Of course Lucille has to be paired with the first Black male also from the Caribbean too. I rolled my eyes and expressed my disbelief that they were laying it on thick about the two of them having to be together. especially, when they mentioned he preaches part time too since she is a woman of faith too. I'm like why couldn't this guy just been from Poplar, or at least England? I don't think a bunch of commonalties between two people make a interesting couple on television. But I will hold out on judgment before we see more of them on screen. 

    Speaking of forcing people together ... 

    Phyllis and the Sgt. bores me to tears. I want to say to the officer "She is not that into you." 

    I did laugh when the lady told Dr. Turner she had worse things up there. I'm assuming she had her sort of men throughout the years. lol 

    I love Dr. Turner, but it seemed after he told Lois what was her ordeal. He quickly raced out of the room without any words of encouragement etc.. I know it is a tough situation to go through but, it seem out of character for him to be so unfeeling. And all of those men checking out her vagina felt so scary, embarrassing, like sexual harassment tends to be for the victim.

    Positives 

    • Fiona deciding that it was time for her to leave the Gallagher household and more importantly the South Side with her head on her shoulder. 
    • Carl going back to military school and quitting Captain Bob's (Sidenote: His boss not sexually harassing him any further Thank God) 
    • Liam basically telling his family that they're garbage. 
    • Fiona and Vee get a scene in I don't know how long?
    • Frank and Fiona's underplayed goodbye scene. 
    • And a appearance made by Ian!
    • A Gallagher Party 

    Negatives 

    • Like the poster above me stating that Fiona should've mentioned where she was heading to. I mean she did say she was sick of the winter. So I'm guessing somewhere warm like Los Angeles, Somewhere In Florida?, Hawaii, Or maybe Spain? (My guesses) I hope she either decides to go to into Real Estate as a realtor or take some type of hospitality management course. 
    • Kelley and Carl getting back together. 
    • Lip's Girlfriend? Sometimes I see potential in her character ... Sometimes I'm ready for her to be dropped off a bus stop never to be seen again. 
    • No goodbyes with Liam or Carl 
    • No conclusion to Carl's other annoying girlfriend who was stalking him. 
    • Trying to figure how Season 10 is going to go?!
