As a viewer in South Africa I was really looking forward to the costumes etc, but while watching the show I am irritated at the inaccuracies of the 'period piece'. The hair styles, the wardrobe and how women are treated as equals. Back then women did not have a say in things. I think this inaccuracy is the worst. As women we struggle for equal rights in 2017! I can't understand why the producers have not taken heed of these comments (after all, are we not the viewers who can make a show a success or a failure) ? I have to ask the question how does one correct this huge error without completely changing the show. I want to see how things were really back then.
