  1. I like your comments a lot, they are balanced and insightful. Do you mind to elaborate a bit more on Ronald's entitlement? Syngin, while much more likeable, also had this air about him, like "a job? yea I'll figure that out eventually I guess." Just curious.
  2. So this was one of the ads at the bottom of the thread...Ronald?
  3. Douche bags do tend to leave an unpleasant aftertaste
  4. Okay, I'm going to say this once and very clearly...Who fucking cares if Natasha is trans or not?? What difference does that make in this storyline...None! Post after post says "I think Natasha might be trans, but don't be mad at me"...um, mad for what? Because it makes no difference? Because it doesn't, so why even say it? Now if you call her Sue Ellen Mishke (sp), that's funny. If you remark on whether she's wearing an appropriate work outfit in a doctor's office (but still, remember, it's L.A., so,) that's fine. If you say she looks like Jillian Michaels or the woman from Love it or List It, that's fine! But please stop with the "I think she's trans, don't be mad at me"...because wtf is your point?
  5. I really hope that Brandon is getting a really really horrible edit. I couldn't help but think the whole time during this segment that Julia was being extremely reasonable. She's good with moving to Richmond; not fancy but an actual city. She may even end up loving it! And she has an actual job that she wants to do, not be an influencer or model or whatever, but like a job! This asshole then talks her down, ugh, stop. Yea she's not "fluent" but she can speak passable English...like, she's fine. He's gross if this is for real
  6. Agree. I know it's been said by others on here but it bears repeating - if Stephanie were Stephen and conducting himself the same way, most of us would be disgusted at seeing him exploit these poor, young girls in poverty. She has motives, he has motives, it's transactional, period.
  7. Are you referring to sex without a condom when a condom was agreed upon, even if the sex itself is consensual? If so, it is absolutely a thing, unfortunately. The subject played a big role in the 90s movie Higher Learning, fwiw.
  8. I get where you're coming from but I really doubt it. I could be wrong but I thought Amira said that her dad is Egyptian and her mom is French. Her accent is definitely more French-sounding than Serbian-sounding. Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian accents are much more similar to a Russian accent than a French one. Also, just because her father is from Egypt doesn't mean that he and/or she is Muslim, but if they are it's highly unlikely that they would choose Serbia as a place to live voluntarily.
  9. I'm glad I'm not the only one that dreams about this craziness!
  10. I laughed out loud at this whole post. Chucklet...I can't!
  11. While I totally agree on Andrei/Libby, Andrei should have never basically demanded that her dad pay for this second wedding. In the beginning when he still had savings left, he acted all proud and like he wouldn't accept her dad's help for anything ever, and once that changed and he put his hand out, he shouldn't be surprised that her dad thinks he has the right to be in his business I like Andrei but he's got some weird entitlement issues he needs to work on. Oh, and Libby's brother can shut all the way up.
  12. Yes! Do they not teach basic biology or reproductive science in Nigeria? Or is it acceptable for a young man to marry an older woman and then a younger woman also in order to procreate? (Both Angela and BGL have supposedly rejected such an arrangement). Interestingly though, both Michael and Usman rely on their mothers' approval, in what is presented as a male dominated, patriarchal society...
  13. First, congratulations to you! I wonder if it could also come down to the amount of weight lost? Maybe 100-150 lbs doesn't have the same affect on skin as 200 or 300?
  14. Ed is gross! Queasy is the perfect word to describe that whole 'relationship'. And why is he constantly directing her every move, like it's all choreographed? Tom and his staring is unnerving. I can't stand that shit. Just say what you have to freaking say and be done with it. Darcey is crazy but he's in total gaslighting mode.
  15. I had a teacher in high school that had toupees of different lengths, so that he could wear a different one each week and make it appear as if his hair was growing. Then after 4 or so weeks, back to the shortest one. The longest one would look downright shaggy, to the point you would think "Damn, he needs a haircut."
  16. Try looking away from the TV when either Ed or Lisa are on and try to tell the difference in their voices...I couldn't.
  17. Agree with all of your points. I am very introverted and stay home more than I don't, but I went through a similar "crisis" last week when the quarantine started here. Suddenly I HAVE to be home and I don't like it. I found myself texting old friends I hadn't talked to in months or years, just to "check in". I also fantasized about just getting out over the weekend, which is frankly, not a thought I had ever had previously. You are not alone.
  18. I haven't posted for a while, but I finally had a nightmare about Big Ang last night so perhaps that is what is prompting me to post so here goes... I agree with others about Big Ang - her treatment of Michael, her control of him, her physical attacks on him...I don't care if this is for ratings, if he's a scammer, if it's all 100% made up - if this were a man doing this to a woman, no one would laugh or think he was spirited or whatever. Know why? Because it's wrong wrong wrong, regardless of who is doing it. Even if made up, would people be okay with Jessie slapping Darcey? Syngin pushing Tania around? Has no one considered the idea that Angela considers him to be inferior to her, and that he owes her something? I love this show, and in many ways I can relate to it personally, but never ever should a show allow, promote or advertise a 'character' that engages in any type of abuse against someone.
  19. I have a feeling that a lot of the Brittany/Marcelino drama was contrived. Case in point, him being afraid to commit last week and then he proposes. I feel lame for saying this, but that was an awesome proposal. They seem to be the healthiest couple on the show and I really hope they make it. I thought the wedding was really nice, too.
  20. My spouse and I met while she was here on a student visa, so she had a driver's license and car at that point. We didn't do the K1, we did the immigrant/marriage visa route, so there wasn't the 90 days part. However... In the almost 3 years we spent waiting for the immigrant visa (she was originally here on a J1, which requires going back to the home country for 2 years before you can adjust your status), we fought A LOT when she got back, even though she had lived here for several years previously! She struggled a lot with not having work experience here, so she had a lot of anxiety about finding a job. She is also very introverted so she doesn't make a lot of friends outside of our relationship, which kind of makes me her only support here, which isn't all that healthy. I say all this to point out that moving to another country is really hard, even when you wanted to do it and you're not stuck in the house all day. It's tough to understand if you haven't been through it, and a lot of people get incredibly homesick. Of course Fernanda was way overboard, but she is young and scared and homesick, so I think that has a lot to do with her overreacting. Jon wasn't wrong, but he's got to hang in there through this part and be as available as he can until she gets her footing. It will pass.
  21. I genuinely hope that you write for a living, in some capacity. If not, you should. (Not being snarky at all, 100% serious).
  22. Right, and I'm pretty sure she didn't even check the camera first...
