  1. Good for them. This is the core of this family, and Kody is frankly not needed.
  2. I don't believe it either. The "adoption" story was something to make it more palatable to the TV audience. I don't think we'll ever know why Meri didn't put up more of a fight and at least make Kody divorce her, instead of seeming to go along with the filing of the divorce...even if one of them told us all the details, they'd tell the story in a way to make themselves look better and I wouldn't really be able to believe them. Divorce always "being on the back burner", as you say, is an interesting point. Polygamists are known to game the system, and due to the show Kody had just gotten a much larger and more steady income than he'd ever had before...and he was wasting his tax breaks being married to someone with one child who was only going to be a legal dependent for a couple more years. Divorcing and marrying someone with a larger number of younger children would make some sense, I guess. But, I really think - and I have no proof of course, just speculating - that it was a combination of Kody and Meri already being on the rocks (let's face it, she's horribly difficult to please and get along with) and Robyn just flat out wanting that legal marriage. Not for her kids, just because SHE wanted it. And Robyn is damn good at getting whatever she wants. She has a way of whining and making her wishes make so much sense to Kody...and he's a horny old douche, he'll do anything to stay out of dick detention with his Awfully Wedded Wife. Meri was likely already steaming mad at the way this was going...Robyn was brought into the family and began to get all of Kody's attention. The blatant favoritism wasn't something she saw coming at all...she was losing her grip as Head Bitch, and being stubborn and demanding wasn't working anymore. She had to change tactics and try to please him. I would imagine Kody gave her some of the same shit he gives Christine, his line about how he'll love you more if you just do more to prove you are all about the family. In Meri's case, he made her believe she could only prove her loyalty to the family by agreeing to the divorce. We don't believe the "for the children" nonsense, but Kody is a shim sham man, maybe he was able to make Meri believe it. Not necessarily adoption, but maybe tax purposes, or helping Robyn's kids fit in, or some other reason. I bet we'd all be shocked at the creative bullshit reasons he was able to hound Meri with day in and day out until she finally caved and just did what he wanted. And don't think for a minute that Kody isn't above withholding the D in order to get what he wants. Even if he wasn't going to give it to her in the end anyway (I'm sure Robyn doesn't allow that), he made it sound like they could get back to that kind of relationship, if she would just be a good plural wife by doing this. Of course, instead, he ran to the courthouse with Robyn, and then off to Hawaii, and never looked back. And Meri, mad as hell and ready to make him pay, sought out another man and sealed her fate.
  3. That's where I am, too. Mariah has even worse taste than her mother, and that's really saying something. I thought I didn't like Christine's big black glasses, but these are much worse. How does Mariah look at all of the options in a store and buy the ugliest item every time.
  4. I have a deep mistrust for youtubers...I always assume it's clickbait and the only "news" is that she posted a pic on social media with Blair Michael again. Meri loves stirring up this nonsense. She loves to take a pic with Blair or some LuLaNo friend's husband, post it on Instagram with a cryptic message, and then wait for the tabloid rags to pick it up and run it as a "Meri left Kody and she has a new man!" story. Then, she waits for the inevitable comments to roll in, and indignantly accuses the tabloids of being liars and doubles down on her commitment to her "loving family". She's as much of a shit stirrer as the youtubers and tabloids are.

    Mykelti

I'm not terribly surprised Mykelti visited the manse. She made a statement to People magazine at the time of Avalon's birth about Robyn being present for the birth via Zoom, or something similar to that. I don't think she's on the outs with Robyn. Mykelti lives in another state and has her own adult married life, she doesn't have to put up with Robyn that often. She may have had to jump through a few hoops to make the visit, but she knew she wasn't going to get to see her dad at all, otherwise. It was worth it to her. Putting up with some crap from a relative once or twice a year, in order to see the rest of your relatives, is something a lot of people have to do. From Robyn's standpoint, she can spin this into a win for herself. She could, for instance, say "Oh yes Kody, I would love to have them visit! Just tell them they have to follow x, y, and z rules for 2 weeks beforehand." She can flex her muscles a little bit, but still come out looking like "see how nice I am, I want us to all be a family...it's only Janelle and Christine who can't follow the rules..." She knows if she flat out says no, no visit from M & T and the grandbaby, she will look bad...with just a little finagling, she can make J & C look bad instead.
  6. Agree. I think Meri planned this whole 4th wife thing as a power play against Janelle and Christine. It bugged the shit out of her that those two successfully worked together in regards shared duties of work & childcare, and as the years went on Meri got more growly and overbearing and J & C, of course, pulled away from her and towards each other. How could they not? Christine even describes her children as "fearful" of Meri, She made herself into the scary ogre of the household. So of course, a natural alliance arose between the other two. I don't feel bad for Meri on that - it was her own choice to act that way and become the one that nobody wanted to be around. I think the family was functioning pretty well, at least for J & C and the bulk of the kids, as long as they avoided Meri for the most part, and Meri wasn't going to stand for that. She was going to throw a monkey-wrench named Robyn into the mix. I think she enjoyed watching Christine's devastation at watching Kody fall in love with Robyn. It may have hurt Meri some too, but her ego is big enough that she didn't think Robyn could really ever replace her, so mostly she enjoyed the chaos she was causing. She was finally getting to punish J & C. Robyn was Meri's petty revenge at J & C and it backfired on her spectacularly. Even after everything that has happened, Meri still clings to this "It's you and me, Robyn, against those other two!" mentality. I will spare some sympathy for J & C having to deal with Robyn, but I have no sympathy to waste on Meri and her vindictive, junior high mean girl attitude. She wanted Robyn, now she's got her.
  7. This is a very good point. Some interesting things in this episode are being overlooked because we're all focusing on Covid rules and the obvious seething resentment between Kody & Christine - I mean, rightly so, it's what most of the stuff is about right now but there were also some interesting group dynamics at the 10 million commandments meeting. This statement you mentioned is SO un-Meri-like. This is not the bulldozer woman of the past who would cry and get loud and dramatic to get what she wants. She acts very afraid of Robyn. I think Meri knows Christine and Janelle and most of their kids are done with her. She knows Kody will only speak to her when it's absolutely necessary. The only foothold she has in this whole family is Robyn. I've been wondering for some time, in regards to their "friendship", what's in it for Robyn? Because she doesn't do anything unless there's something in it for her...and I think this is it - power. She is Meri's last link to the group, and the reason she doesn't cut her off cold like the rest of them have is because Robyn loves the power she has and the groveling she can make Meri do. I'm no Meri fan and I pretty much think she's getting what she deserves, but Robyn is horrible. Meri got in her passive/aggressive dig, though. "I'm glad you have Kody and your kids." She didn't mean that genuinely. She might be afraid of her, but she couldn't resist saying that.
  8. 🤣 You were close! It all comes down to when Janelle's holiday leftovers run out. I think it should be called "New Year, New You!.....You know, eventually."
  9. January 17th, because you wouldn't want to get started on that New Year's Resolution too early...🤣 Please don't ever change, Janelle! If she just did normal stuff, what would we talk about.
  10. My understanding is that she's been to events like this, yes. I don't think Meri would miss a single looney Lula pep rally or cruise, for all her crying about "family". She's just drumming up a bunch of sympathy in this episode with all of her crying, but it's the usual Meri/Victim nonsense. The truth is she was just sitting there with nothing to do for a few months because her LuLaNo cult meetings were cancelled for awhile. As soon as they started holding events again, I bet she was at them with bells on. Similarly, if Kody tried to box her into a corner with similar ultimatum that he's giving J & C - to stop seeing Mariah - he'd get the same response he's getting from those two. He just didn't give her that ultimatum because he has no interest in even trying to go over to her house.
  11. My mom was like that with lots of types of food...when you asked, it was "Well, I'll try to figure out some amounts for a recipe..." because she was just throwing stuff together in the amounts that worked for her. I bet Janelle likes a really specific recipe, she doesn't seem like the type who would be good at adjusting on the fly. But, she seems to be trying to make more things, which is good...I think half her problem with cooking, and a lot of other things, is she paralyzes herself with fear of what could go wrong before she even gets started.
  12. Well, she certainly has complained over the years about how no one helps her with her kids, hasn't she! I think she absolutely expected that she was gaining a bunch of babysitters when she married into this. She never stops to think about what she was offering. This is not at all like the arrangement Janelle and Christine had, where they had roughly an equal number of children, at roughly the same ages, and one says "I will work full time and bring home that paycheck for us" and the other says "Okay, I will watch all of the children so you can do that." Was Robyn going to offer up a full-time paycheck, as Janelle did, for all that babysitting she was expecting? HA HA HA! No way. Nor was she going to share child rearing responsibilities with Christine - which is why I mentioned J & C's kids being near the same ages above...Robyn expected to come in and have other moms help with her very small kids, while those other moms would need little help from her, because their children were mostly self-sufficient teenagers. What a sweet deal for you, Robyn! No working OR exchange of childcare duties! And then Kody has the nerve to imply that the other wives aren't being team players when they don't want this kind of shitty deal.
  13. I have to point these things out to you and anybody else who might be tempted to give these creeps the benefit of the doubt...lest you go around thinking he took her all the way to the Scottsdale Victoria's Secret just to buy her a chaste little pair of new slippers. 😂

    Mykelti

Ten bucks says that means Janelle and Janelle's kids, mostly. Christine's kids seem to have a good relationship with Janelle and her kids. Good for them, because that shows some appreciation for the Bonus Mom who worked to pay the bills, and the siblings that spent a lot of time with them. But Meri, Kody, Robyn...I don't think the closeness is there. They know who worked with their mom, and who made her life miserable. They probably tolerate visits with them, but it's not with the same excitement as seeing some of the others. I bet everything seems way more simple and peaceful to Mykelti when she goes to visit Tony's side of the family.
  15. Why are you being so nice to them? A single wide is plenty good enough for these dirtbags!
  16. Meri's not going to "negotiate her value" with anyone, but what she WILL do is get on TV every Sunday night and publicly beg for any scrap of attention from a man who is completely repulsed by her and wants nothing to do with her. Did you feel you were standing up for yourself and your "worth" in last night's episode, Meri? You know, the one where you tearfully told all of us that you followed Robyn and Kody's several pages long list of rules for seven months, and for your trouble you were finally offered, in front of all of us, the humiliating consolation prize of a "play date"? During which Kody will, of course, be absent, because he can't stand you? Bitch, please.
  17. I'm pretty sure funds well in excess of the amount needed for your bail could be raised in minutes, should you be the one who decides to wipe that smirk off his face. Just saying. 😉 Kody can't deal with men, all he can do is bully women to try to make himself feel like he's the big man. No woman with any brains or backbone sees him as a man.
  18. I have a recipe for pie crust titled "Mom's Pie Crust". My mom wrote it out as "mom's" and so did her mother, so it is at least my great-grandmother's recipe. I get why Janelle likes a recipe handed down through generations. They are fun. My pie crust recipe calls for a certain number of "level tablespoons of water". And it took this many generations, before someone...ME...finally said "uh...what the hell is that about? As opposed to HEAPING tablespoons of water? Just how bad WAS the water, back in the day?" Yep, make sure you level off that spoonful of water, people. Yikes. Great-grandpa must have had to eat some gritty-ass pie crust! 😆
  19. I would love to ask Robyn this simple question: If everyone is stating that this is 7 months into the pandemic and no one EVER provided this list of rules to anyone until this very meeting - then how can you possibly say, with a straight face, you couldn't "change protocol" and allow Meri to come over? According to what you're all saying, there WAS no protocol in place, not for the past 7 months. You can't "breach" a protocol that was never put in place, Robyn...come up with a better excuse of why you couldn't be bothered to see Meri, because this one has holes all over in it. There was no protocol or rules shared with the group...not rules about Covid, anyway. Just the New World Order that due to a convenient excuse, Kody would now be spending all of his time at the Manse. So, explain to me again, Kody and Robyn, how these other people all should have been following this list of rules that you never even gave them. That is my first question, before I can even think about whether or not I agree with the rules...was everyone supposed to read their minds? For 7 months, we're all going to just sit here while the rest of you try to guess what our rules MIGHT be? I mean....I have questions for the rest of them too though, like why the hell in SEVEN MONTHS did the rest of them not demand to know what the rules were? I don't think these people really want to be a family.
  20. Hey now, a blow job is a job! Robyn is an essential worker, doing jobs that no other woman in America wants to do, of course she needs a nanny. Girl should get hazard pay besides! (okay I'll stop) 🤣
  21. Dear Kody - Janelle only likes you as a friend. Sorry buddy. Regards, Captain Obvious
  22. The one thing that jumps out at me right away about the list of rules is that it still makes no provision for a situation where older kids need to go to college classes or work, like Janelle's children. Not everyone is willing or able to stop their lives entirely on the off chance you might stop by for a few minutes, Kody. Garrison can't tell the National Guard that this is what his dad said he had to do, so he just can't show up for Guard Drills.
  23. Meri desperately apologizing for making a joke at the Head Bitch's expense is so desperate. How does Robyn actually think she's not coming off like a bitch here? "I know what you all think of me, please just STOP, alright?" ugh
  24. Okay Kody, you are right, you don't technically have a head wife. You have one wife, one ex-wife, and two ex-girlfriends. But that's not what you meant, now is it, you big liar....
  25. Tan foam! Cue the sad trombone (wah wah wah) 😆
