  1. Jenny has absolutely lost her mind. She meets a guy (was it on FB? I can’t remember) who is cat fishing her. She finds out he’s cat fishing her and her response is “Oh, that’s ok, I like you anyway.” (Even though he was supposedly tall, hot and British). Humongous lie #1. She *cashes in her 401k* to go live with him, and he allows her to do this knowing he is married. Then he lies to his parents (and his wife) AND Jenny and just kind of floats back and forth, leaving Jenny for substantial periods of time in a country where she knows no one, doesn’t speak the language and doesn’t understand the culture. Allows his family to come confront Jenny and drop the marriage bombshell on her. Now she is going to take her SS money out early, with a penalty of 30% for life. She is going to make less than a person on SSI. I make more than twice what she does and it isn’t easy. When she gets back she better pray her daughter takes her back in or she’ll end up in public housing. And she’s going back for more when the man’s family won’t even speak to her on a video call. She needs an intervention, stat. All for a lying liar who lies. How could she possibly expect him to ever tell her the truth about anything? i don’t get these middle aged and higher women who all want to date a 30 year old. Have a fling, sure, but what would they even talk about? Jenny doesn’t look bad at all for 60 and she should be able to find someone reasonably aged, in the US, and not a lying liar ego lies. These post menopausal women have got to realize these 30 year old men are more than likely going to want to have kids one day. Anyway, I don’t get Jenny at all. These aren’t small fibs he’s telling - they are massive lies. She seems to be a decent person. She deserves better IMHO.
  2. Oy. Another one that I think looks 10 years older than I am (I’m 53). Angela makes me remember sunscreen for my neck. She makes me remember it for my hands.
  3. What on earth? How did he get custody of those kids with all those charges?
  4. I just went back and watched the inaugural episode with Melissa Morris and I am floored by how much this show has changed. Melissa put her nose to the grindstone so to speak. She was proactive. She had aids such as a poster on the refrigerator door on which she marked off every pound she lost. There was no “I’m trying as hard as I can” while losing s single pound in a month or gaining. I know she’s had later struggles, but the whole show was so refreshingly free of drama. I literally could not believe a person could physically eat what these people eat at one time, let alone over the course of the day. How can a person eat 6 takeout pizzas at once? I went searching for evidence that it was staged or something. But I guess not.
  5. I’m glad actually. This is my perfect favorite trash TV. Except for Pillow Talk which I wish they’d make 2 hours long.
  6. Well, I was losing weight because I was too sick to eat. Anyone would lose weight if their eating habit was 1/4 protein shake OR 2 tablespoons sugar free applesauce OR a bite of sandwich per day. Dr Now would not even approve. Plus there’s malabsorption. There really aren’t any overweight people in my Chrons support group and certainly no grossly obese people. Anyway sorry for the tangent. She lost several hundred pounds. That is not “for nothing!” If she had lost say, another 200 while her IBS was being addressed she might not even have needed surgery- I can’t remember her exact weight. I understand that when you’re 1,000 or 800 or 600 pounds it is urgent and emergent. Someone who is 350 I don’t understand so much. I love Weight Watchers and I’m never hungry. But I also don’t weigh 800 pounds.
  7. I’d like to thank Angela for reminding me to apply sunscreen to my neck every time I leave the house. Even if it is midnight.
  8. Man, I don’t get this chick at all. I CAN understand a *very young* child thinking if they get bigger they can fight off an attacker. After that why not get said kid The rest of it.. ok she moves to Houston, loses a pretty substantial amount of weight, and then gets IBD and is all freaked out because she can’t have the surgery and the weight loss will be “for nothing?” Um, no it won’t. I have Chrons (had been on WW) and before they figured out what was wrong with me I was losing 10 lbs a week. My eating habit was a portion of a protein shake, or two tablespoons of sugar free apple sauce, or a single bite of a roast beef sandwich (big mistake) per day because I was too sick to eat more. It also comes with its own malabsorption issues, no surgery required. If it took 6 months to get her IBD under control and she just kept losing like she had been she might not even have needed surgery. I just don’t get it. I have already told all my friends if somehow I got to 600 lbs to only bring me protein and vegetables and water. Maybe she had some sort of extremely mild IBD? I’m flummoxed.
  9. They built houses differently to take advantage of breezes. One of my friends even has a historic house in Birmingham with a “sleeping porch” where they would drag their mattresses outside at night and sleep as it was cooler out there. Elderly people in nursing homes died after the hurricane without power to run the AC. Lack of AC in certain climates is no joke.
