  1. Didn't April live in another town? Within biking distance, but I'd assume different school districts.
  2. To be fair, if my 12 year old niece came to me with the DNA of 3 possible fathers and it was none of them, I'd pick a random one for her because otherwise that's kind of traumatizing and also would put my sister in a horrible light. It didn't look like she tested her mom, so I'd really just put in an avuncular test and try to pass it off.
  3. I can only see him coming back to TV for Jason Katims or FNL. So yeah....; but yes he'd really bring up the level of the acting.
  4. The cast and crew for Stargate SG1 found out at their 200th episode celebration party. The cast of Eureka found out on Twitter from fans. It's not like a normal firing.
  5. Don't forget he was also going to fold his company immediately because his secretary from the other company didn't want a paycut to work with him. So when Rory wants to get back together with Dean the first time around and goes to his house, how does she know nothing about Clara? She doesn't even know her name. They never even met before. Why would Dean even expect a girl to say that she loves him if she doesn't even know his family? It's so weird.
  6. Weren't they one and the same? His father had rented out that garage as well. I assumed "dad's garage" just meant the "garage dad had been renting" and both Liz and Jess would know as well.
  7. I have no doubt there was an explanation in a packet or by a financial adviser in the school (like the ones in college). Whether she was paying attention or understanding is a whole other matter. And yes, it does seem like like there was little going on to actually pay for Chilton even aside from the initial downpayment. Though maybe they thought Rory could get in as a scholarship student?
  8. Luke took the car in season 3 after finding out that Jess was skipping school to go to Wal-Mart. He still had the car in season 4 when Liz came back and told Jess.
  9. Maybe she didn't expect the $5000 up front.
  10. The magic risotto that she made at her mother's deathbed that kept her mother alive a few more months.
  11. Yup. However, AB was 19 and JP was 18 when the show started. So I guess there's that.
  12. I'm not sure if this is a nitpick or unpopular opinion (or both), but I thought Patty and Babbette creeping on Dean (when he was under age) was both inappropriate and just not funny. If they were men creeping on Rory, we wouldn't think it was charming or funny at all. A gender swap doesn't change things for me. So when Max and Lorelai meet for the first time at the parent's night at Chilton, Max and the other parents are talking about the AP exam. Based on what Max is focusing on teaching, it's obviously AP Lit, a class usually for seniors. College Board doesn't restrict the grade the student is in, but it seems odd that it's an entire sophomore class that's in AP Lit. I suppose we can write it off as a "Chilton thing". But the biggest issue is when Max says that the next AP exam is some Saturday of next month. AP exams are only offered once a year in May (this is the beginning of the season so unless there's a seismic time warp...), and they certainly aren't on Saturdays. Seeing as to how strict College Board is about the exams, there's no way it's a "Chilton thing". (Seriously, we took our AP exams off school campus. One kid in our class accidentally took a piece of paper out of the AP calc exam onto the bus after the exam. The chaperones basically had to lock down the bus, call the people at college board, and sort this whole thing out in a way that all our tests didn't get invalidated.) It's clearly not the next big exam for the class he's talking about, because that was during the regular school day. And it's a waste of everyones time to take any sort of mock AP exam that early on because you haven't read the necessary texts yet. And as high school sophomores, there's not much room to BS through it because you don't have extra 1-2 years of books under your belt. It's just bizarre to me.
  13. They've partnered up with Farm Sanctuary to open the 4th location in New Jersey. Here's the facebook page following their pigs Anna and Maybelle who were found along the highway in Georgia. The Stewart family often makes appearances. Edit because it posted twice.
  14. But Lauren Graham was a producer of the show for season 7. So regardless of what happens, LG of all people has say in a lot more of the final decisions and would be kept up on changes. Him saying that was the sound of the writers hand waving that particular storyline of the show away. *foosh* never happened *foosh* one true love *foosh* I think I have an UO that before they completely destroyed her character, I liked Sherry. She made a concerted effort to be part of Rory's life because of Christopher. And I never sensed her being nice to Lorelai was at all backhanded or boastful, just the awkward type of chatter people in that kind of position would try to have. In fact, I had zero sympathy during Lorelai's meltdown in Sherry's bathroom. And really, for a show that wanted the endgame to be Luke and Lorelai, I don't know why I should have cared about this roadblock for Lorelai and Christopher.
  15. I've said this before, but I was completely surprised when I read interviews that the actors on the show didn't know if the show was coming back. When I first saw the S7 finale on Netflix, I thought it was the perfect way to wrap up a series. Life is up in the air for people but everyone (important) is kind of where they wanted to be in life from the beginning of the show. Lorelai owns her own inn, Rory is on the road as a journalist after getting an Ivy degree, Emily is getting a no strings attached FND from Lorelai, Luke and Lorelai are coupling again maybe.
  16. They started negotiations for The X-files cast after the cast had already agreed to sign up for it. It's a matter of how much money their representatives can get for them now and how long they're willing to play the waiting game. For instance, Gillian Anderson (Scully) had mentioned that they were going to pay her less than David Duchovny (Mulder) and it took a bit to hammer out a deal to get them an equal salary (and this was a problem when the show was still on previously).
  17. This year the semester starts the day after MLK Jr Day (this Tuesday). So I assume around the same previous years.
  18. Can we move on to a few episodes later with Kirk and Cat Kirk? They keep talking about the scratches on Kirk, but there is no makeup on Sean Gunn to go along with what they're talking about. There's maybe two gauzes but nothing else. Did they spend their entire early season budget on the dance marathon?
  19. But first of all, Dean's already an unauthorized person on the dance floor so the burly security guy in the background (seriously guys, go check out the scene, theres a guy in all black wearing a shirt that says security looking wide awake and just staring at everyone, it's hilarious) should have removed him. However back to the other issue of swapping, it's a flaw in the system especially for something like a dance marathon that goes to last couple standing. It feels like a semantics thing that would have been rectified very early on in the dance marathons run. It should be one of those things where it doesn't need to be said that the partner on the floor has to remain standing and moving without aid. I mean this is a personal nitpick but once you start substituting people in for your couple for any amount of time (max being 2-10 minute intervals at least if the yellow card is only allowed once per person) the entire concept of "last couple standing" starts breaking down. And I can't believe I just spend a good amount of time reading up on dance marathons. It's actually a fascinating history. In this episode, she made her high school age teenage daughter miss a night of sleep to fulfill her own competitive dream. Being a senior in high school or a junior in high school doesn't matter, the approximate sleep a teenager needs at that stage of development is about the same in both years. It seems like it'd be something they'd write up and photograph in the Stars Hollow gazette. You can only have so many pictures of couples dancing, having a photo of the run around is something I know photographers would like to mix it up. Sorry, I don't believe for an instant that Rory would not know of this tradition in this somewhat big annual event that her mother has entered. The event would obviously be covered in the Stars Hollow gazette and they would have written about making the dancers run probably every year. Since Rory's a newspaper reading addict (who even had the Stars Hollow gazette delivered to Yale) she would have read about it. Rory is also anal retentive enough to have read the information and rules of the dance marathon cover to cover. Something like this is going to be in there.
  20. I haven't seen the episode in a bit, wasn't that when Jess walked onto the floor with his gf? But regardless having Dean there should have DQ'ed them immediately and that would have been the end of the dance for them right then and there for them and the entire scene with Jess wouldn't have happened. Also, where was Lorelai during that whole thing? Did both she and Luke go to the bathroom when Dean was very loudly yelling at Rory in that not so big gym? His coffee thing was pretty close to where they were. Ok, I need to not obsess over this.
  21. Yeah then I have no clue. Lorelai said she thought the shoes were cute so I'm assuming the thought process ended there. Which I suppose goes with her character. So for the few years that Lorelai had participated in the dance, was Rory only there intermittently? How would she not remember that the dance had that run around thing? Would Lorelai never complain about it? If this is was an annual dance (that never happened again) surely Rory would have had some exposure to the run. It just seems weird that she had to ask, midrun, what the deal was. Also, is it fair that Lorelai used her card to leave the floor but basically had Dean prop Rory up? That seems to be an oversight of the rules because a dance marathon like that shouldn't allow substitutions.
  22. Tofu instead of egg usually. I assumed there's a dress code for the dance, otherwise wouldn't be more comfortable to wear sweats?
  23. The reviews for the first X-Files episode of the revival have not been great. Since I really thought highly of that crew, my expectations for Gilmore Girls are quite low. Especially since ASP reminds me of George Lucas in some ways in terms of how she does things. I'm kind of expecting Gilmore Girls' version of Jar Jar for the revival. Actually, looking back at the show itself, a lot of people were becoming GG's Jar Jar. Also, Lucas had over the top CGI, ASP had over the top quirkiness. Both were allowed back into the worlds that made them famous because of nostalgia. Guys...I think I'm realizing something. So bringing it back on topic- I don't want the revival to happen because I have no faith at all in ASP. Especially since it looks like she'll probably have no one around her to say "no" (just like George Lucas for the prequels).
