  1. That's actually what I liked about the show. Plus the fact I think both of them might actually be insane (it was 2 years of no human contact). I'm just curious where the show might end up going. Also, the lack of animals was interesting. I wonder if that was on purpose or not.
  2. He was using his lunch money to instead pay for Shaq-Fu. It got a ton of publicity in gaming magazines at the time and as per the show it was a crappy game.
  3. I was pointing it out to my wife. Being only a little older than Eddie at that time there's so much nostalgia, including Shaq-Fu (although I never bought the game). The only issue I had was the 8-bit graphics. At this point it was pretty much exclusively 16 bit or better. But I loved that storyline so oh well.
  4. I can't say I agree with this at all. I don't see how making Abbie and Ichabod a romantic pairing has any bearing on Abbie as a character. Like mentioned above me there's so much they can do with Abbie's character that doesn't involve a romantic relationship with Ichabod and I'd love to see more exploration of Abbie's past and lineage. Abbie and Jenny are by far my favorite characters on the show (with Irving and Ichabod tied at 3rd) and especially after this season getting more of their story would be great. Finally, I really hate how if there's a male and female lead they have to end up together romantically. Why can't they just be best friends. Plus I'd love to see a scene with Ichabod trying out modern dating or even some sort of fun double date. Plus next season I really would love to see Jenny and Ichabod teamed up for an episode and another with Irving. It'd be great at least shake up the pairing a bit and see how the teams interact beside just Abbie and Ichabod.
  5. I have to say while I mostly enjoyed the episode as it aired, overall I didn't like how meaningless it was in the end. The only meaningful moment was Abbie getting to meet Grace (which was really good), but otherwise they could have easily cut out the whole episode and nothing would have changed. While I'm not a shipper (can we seriously have a show where the male and female leads are just good friends?) I'm glad we got rid of Katrina despite the whole thing making little sense. No one knew what to do with her and she never really demonstrated any real usefulness at all. As for this being the plan all along, I do remember Orlando mentioning after the mid-season break that one character would not be surviving the finale at all. I guess the plan may have been just Henry or even some other character but I think it was Katrina all along (with Henry possibly surviving and being the big bad next season). That said, they really need to figure out some sort of arc for next season (if there is one) because part of the issue with the second half of this season was how directionless it was.
  6. Also to add, I inherited my dad's cell phone when I was able to bring my car to college (2003) and so I know first hand how inconvenient those early cell phones were to schlep around. It was easier when I had a jacket but damn was it uncomfortable in a pants pocket. I'm not sure I agree with RedHawk though. I feel her original boss wouldn't want to shell out the extra cash to get her a cell phone. He probably also enjoyed the one way interaction of the beeper.
  7. I was in high school around this time and I remember cell phones being very scarce. My dad got one but it was mostly because he does a lot of house calls and needed a way to keep in contact while he was out. That said they were quite bulky (i.e. would not really fit in a pants pocket) so I imagine beepers were more of a thing (plus there were still a ton of pay phones out there and they cost only a quarter to make a call). A few parents did have cell phones but that was it until very late 90's/early 2000's. So I understand not seeing them. Heck, in Seinfeld which ran until 1998 and even 90's Friends we rarely saw any cell phones so they weren't ubiquitous.
  8. While I wasn't too happy with Becca getting back with Sean, I like how the episode resolved. Here's hoping with all that out of the way things pick up. Perhaps Becca finally realizes that perhaps she should just get out there and meet new people. Maybe even a certain med student/soon to be med student who she seems to get along with and not just leave him mid-conversation.
  9. I assumed the short opening was also for time. As for Bill, there was a tapestry at the end, before the end tag with the agents, showing two people bowing at what looks like Bill floating in the sky.
  10. Not a huge fan of the episode. The plot as mentioned above seemed just thrown together and I didn't really get why Katrina went along with it. It was such a quick heel turn. Also sad that we might not be getting anymore Jenny or Frank this season/series.
  11. I kind of liked the episode but the whole plot with the library made little sense. As mentioned above, I hope they took at least some of the books with them. Also why include the Reavers if the Witness's would be hard pressed to get past them. Especially if they had to go trekking in there every few days or so. That said, I liked how Jenny keyed in immediately to Irving and despite my criticisms the episode was decently fun.
  12. Not really, if anyone saw The Good Guys (and it seems unlikely considering the ratings it pulled in) that seems like inspired casting. Bradley played a gung ho cop who loved being a cop just not actually following any procedures. I could easily see him as Jake's dad.
  13. I believe they actually confirmed it in a commentary track. That was amazing. JJ going out like a hero, heck they even had Col. Gentleman get saved by a robot after all that anti-robot talk at the beginning. Also loved the Killinger-Investors thing. I was really worried they kill of Killinger but damn, loved him constantly Mary Poppins-ing around during the fight. Monarch getting shut down at the end was brilliant.
  14. I actually liked that. It added a nice surrealism to the episode.
  15. I watched every Superbowl but off hand I can't remember who played or won any of the games. I was 11 at the time but honestly I still can't remember who won the Superbowl like 5 years ago let alone 20 something (and that's assuming she played much attention to those things, at best she'd remember when the Giants won like I remember when the Ravens won). I am surprised I didn't mention betting though (I though I had, but must of forgotten). That said though after sports betting there's not any real get rich quick that she'd be able to pull off with "future knowledge". Although I kind of hope Lolly asks.
  16. I actually really enjoyed the show which I wasn't exactly expecting. The premise was interesting but I wasn't sure what to expect from VH1. Honestly I doubt it. I was thinking about this type of situation for myself what exactly I'd remember (I was only 11 in 1993). Sure she might end up rich in say the late 2000's but anything stock wise would take a while to actually earn her money (especially with the bubble burst which I would have to look up to know exactly when that happened). So I'd say it's pretty "realistic" what we see here. And as discussed above, any attempts to warn about 9/11, the World Trade Center bombing, etc would easily be dismissed.
  17. I also loved that Tina kind of gave it back to Louise too. I enjoy Louise's antics but seeing the give and take between the two of them, plus the nice sisterly moment at the end was great. Plus them both sleeping in Louise's room at the end holding the trophy was great too. Another good moment was Gus's speech to Gene about how he thought Gene was just mocking him at first but was plesently surprised when Gene actually was interested in flag waving.
  18. This was probably the first of the TBS episode I really enjoyed. Liked the switcharoo with Brian, loved the "real family" and real Rodger too.
  19. Raina looked furry from what I could tell. That said I really enjoyed the episode except for Trip's death which really pissed me off. Loved Skye just causally shooting Ward like that. Also enjoyed how true to the source material they stayed. Teragenesis Crystals making the mist and the cocooning.
  20. Not even remotely surprised it was non-elimination. Usually happens with these needle and haystack tasks. Overall good. And honestly I liked how Robbie wasn't good with these tasks. I kind of like the juxtaposition with him being such a muscular guy.
  21. Really great episode. Love how Bob always takes to objects. Also I can't believe I just realized that Regular Sized Rudy is modeled after Bobby from King of the Hill.
  22. Another really good episode. Love Dad, he's smart, he's crazy and yet not evil like Whitehall. Like how Fitz is starting to feel useful. So sad the next episode is 2 weeks away but I guess everyone is taking off for Thanksgiving. Also agree that I enjoy what they are doing with Ward. Seems as though there was nothing left to do but wait so downtime so to speak.
  23. Was that Zack Braff as one of the wall faces? Sure sounded like him.
  24. I only watched the first episode which was difficult to sit through. It was just wasn't funny or even interesting.
  25. First, I loved that Sophia was a very competent lawyer who explained why she's not a bad guy, it really is her job to make sure the police do theirs. Second, liked how Boyle was able to keep up with Gina and how they really did know each other (i.e. it turned out not to just be a quick fling). Typically Boyle is kind of pathetic so it was nice to see that he was able to keep up with Gina in keeping the other from the room. Third, Holt as always was amazing. Loved how he really go into the "Why Amy is late" game. Turning in his chair and insistence on not getting involved was great too. Really great episode.
