  1. I felt it wasn't Stan learning to lie but more having difficulty with how to spare someone their feelings (i.e. not just telling it how it is). I loved the whole surgery scene. Was not expecting it to go that badly the first time.
  2. I thought he was part of the ruling council with Okoye.
  3. I believe Stan's design in his book is very similar to his apology mural in Mural of the Story. I love how quickly this episode spiraled out of control.
  4. I would say that's probably the main reason. It'd also be difficult for those actors to really gel with someone else playing T'Challa due to all that baggage. That said, the other reason is they came up with a good story to tell in the aftermath of T'Challa's death. The subtitle "Wandaka Forever" seems to hint at something like that. As for Michael B Jordan possibly being back, it could just be a flashback. As I've said before, I'd love to see Kevin "Kasper" Cole show up and in the comics he was tied to Killmonger (who gave him a synthetic version of the Heart Shape Herb). Maybe we can get Queen Divine Justice as well. Although I think I'd prefer to see them in a D+ show.
  5. Man, I would be so excited for a Miles Morales movie. It would actually fit in nicely with what the MCU is doing with Cap's and Iron-Man's legacies. Plus being able to do more Spider-Man movies without having to do a reboot.

    Eternals (2021)

Out of all the Marvel characters, these one's I know the least. I couldn't place what characters were in the trailers. That said, I'm really looking forward to this movie. It's kind of neat to be introduced to a group I have little familiarity with (except Black Knight). The trailer itself looked good, I'm happy it mostly focused on the characters interacting since that's what I'm looking for in these MCU movies (honestly, Thor and Loki in Thor 2 kind of saved the movie for me, so glad they added more of that in Thor 3 especially since we're unlikely to see that in upcoming movies).
  7. I mainly know Morbius from Spider-Man TAS but I've never been that interested in him as a character. That said, he did have a solo series that lasted a while (32 issues) back in the 90's so there must be something there. Kraven only really works if he's hunting a super-hero. If the movie is a crossover with Morbius, that could work especially if they set up Morbius as kind of a grey or anti-hero super. Venom probably wouldn't work since it would have to be kind of lopsided due to Venom's powers. I'm not sure who else they have access to that would really work I was honestly interested in the Black Cat movie that was being pushed for a while. I love a good super-powered heist movie and Ant-Man is really the only movie to kind of scratch that itch (that's also why I was looking forward to a Gambit movie).
  8. That was a solid episode. Also Rogu and Klaus have the same voice actor which added a little meta to my viewing. Billy is surprisingly voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson (Principal Lewis). I've been streaming a lot of the series recently and I kind of forget how well the show does it's licensed music. I don't think I've really seen it mentioned but their choice of songs is always pretty solid and fitting.
  9. This show is so over the top, which is why I'm still watching. However, I'm not really enjoying this arc very much, Azami sucks, although there has been some good moments, like Eishi and Soma. Looking forward to next week where we get the fallout of Erina finding out that Soma is Jorichiro's son.
  10. Until coming here I didn't know The Marvels was Capt Marvel 2. That said, I like having Monica, Carol and Kamala all in one movie. Carol can be kind of boring on her own but I feel works better with other characters to bounce off of (and Carol may still be the main character). It's actually been a trend with Marvel sequels to feature more superheroes than the main character since Cap 2 (the only exception is GotG 2 but that a team movie so I don't count it). See Black Widow in Cap 2, Hulk in Thor 3, Wasp in Ant-man 2, Scarlet Witch in Dr Strange 2, etc. I actually like this trend since it embraces the shared universe a little more and it's fun seeing these character bounce off each other.
  11. I remember watching that in High School. It was syndicated so I know I missed some episodes. I might have to check it out. As for Cole's powers, I had checked out "The Man with the Iron Fists" a couple weeks before this movie and it kind of reminded me of Brass Body but Brass Body's power was so much cooler. They really should have gone with Cage or Stryker instead of Cole. Having Cage be an ancestor of Scorpion would be kind of neat contrasting Cage's bombastic personality with Scorpion's more dour one.
  12. I've been enjoying the past few episodes. The show is so much better without Tribore. I think (with the exception of Tribore) they are doing a better job with the humor and balancing it with the rest of the story. Sad Fox is out and now Ash too. Hopefully it won't take long to get them back.
  13. So I watched this recently. I didn't see any of the other movies but I was mildly familiar with them. I thought the movie was pretty decent but I did skip like 2/3 of all the human interactions. The conspiracy nut and Millie Bobby Brown were pointless and not that fun to watch. Wasn't that interested in Hollow Earth guy either but the sign language lady and the deaf girl worked pretty well. I was surprised with how fat Godzilla looked. I guess I'm just more used to the sleeker design. King Kong was really well done. They did a good job with making it so you understand what he's thinking or feeling. I kind of wish, especially for the fights, that they'd put up subtitles for him but then again I kind of wished Godzilla gave him a thumbs up at the end too so it's probably best they didn't. ETA: While the Hollow Earth stuff was really stupid (where is that sunlight coming from), I actually liked it especially the two different gravity fields. Since they Godzilla rights have now expired, I'd love to see a Kong movie in hollow earth. Although if they do, they'd better give Kong a family. Last of his kind is sad.
  14. Just saw her in The Man with the Iron Fists and she had such an awesome fight scene. I hope she get one in this movie too. It's funny, I've never been that interested in DC movies (the only one I've seen in theaters is Lego Batman with the only other DC movie being Wonder Woman) but the more recently announced movies are sounding pretty good. Looking forward to Suicide Squad and now Black Adam and Shazam 2. I guess I'll have to check out Shazam 1 at some point. I think it's just I'm not a fan of the bigger name DC characters but I love the lesser ones where writers can really have fun with the characters.
  15. Agreed. Besides Spider-man there's little worth buying for Disney plus I'd imagine the rights to Spider-man revert no matter what if the studio is sold. That said, all Sony has moviewise is Ghostbusters, Jumanji and Men in Black plus a couple animated movies (mainly Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). So it's possible they might just sell the ip's. The only real buyers for the studio would probably be Comcast or Disney. WB is mess right now due to AT&T losing a ton of money and CBS/Viacom isn't doing much better. I guess there's Netflix or some smaller company picking the rights up. That said, Sony Pictures is looking at a promising year with Spider-Man and Ghostbusters. Plus Venom which the first movie did decent enough. 2022 has some potential hits as well (Spiderverse, Hotel Transylvania 4) plus Sony starting to use their video game IP's for movies which has potential. So it's possible they could float around for a while.
  16. I thought I remembered Erina closing down some of the dorms at the beginning of the series, right before she threatens Bowl Soc. It's also possible that the remaining dorms are essentially at Toutski but own their own land where Soma's dorm is merely renting the land.
  17. Well, I wasn't at all interested in Indy 5 but with Phoebe Waller-Bridge I'm now somewhat interested. I'd be super interested if she takes over the role though. I've never seen Crystal Skull but I doubt it's any worse than Temple of Doom. As far as I'm concerned there's only 2 Indy movies worth watching, Raiders and Last Crusade. Since Indy 5 is also an odd numbered movie maybe it'll be a good one too. One can only hope.
  18. Funny enough, before Fox went up for sale, Sony was considering selling off it's movie studio. Sony Pictures had been doing terribly before Homecoming. That said, I believe Sony Pictures still isn't doing great financially so I wouldn't be surprised to see it sold eventually.
  19. A little off topic but my toddler was watching a YouTube video of a guy and his kids visiting a Toys R Us and they came across merchandising for Thor: Ragnarok and Justice League. It's nuts how long ago this movie initially came out.
  20. I actually like Iron Man 3. But then again I'm a huge fan of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and this was essentially a spiritual sequel to it. Thor 2 is tough to like but I can't entirely write off the movie since the Thor-Loki parts made the movie for me. Thor 1 may be the one I like the least since it was such an average movie (nothing too good but nothing too bad either). AoU is pretty far down for me since it's a huge mess. But, as mentioned above, it has a lot to like (the party scene is a favorite of mine). Personally I find it easier to make a tier list for the MCU movies since my preferences within each tier tends to change but the general tiers are consistent.
  21. So funny enough, my son was born while we were watching this movie. We were in the delivery room and while we were waiting for go time I flipped around the tv and found this movie while was just starting. Shortly after my wife goes into active labor and my son was born right when Charlie arrives at the chocolate factory. Funny considering he came right when the movie gets good. I'll add that Gene Wilder makes this movie. The kids have their own little shtick but it's pretty one note and otherwise they're kind of just there. Wilder is what glues the movie together. You never know which Wonka you're going to get. The whimsical one, the menacing one, the deadpan one, etc.
  22. That's also my favorite. Loved the whole gingerbread house competition. I'm not a fan of Christmas in the Car but I did like Jingle in the Jungle.
  23. So I finally got around to watching this season. I initially stopped halfway through the Overhaul arc (not a fan of kids in danger stories) and I'm still not a fan of that arc. But I did love Gentle Criminal and the whole Koyoka + Bakugo band with Yuga as the disco ball. Also I ship Deku and Mei Hatsume hard so it was nice to see her as well. I also liked that UA does have an event to show off the other Departments beside hero course.
  24. I'd recommend checking out Koro-Q (Koro Sensei Quest) after the series ends. It's twelve humorous shorts set in a fantasy world classroom. Although I believe it does spoil some of the show. It's on Funimation with an english dub (same VA). I really loved this show. Koro Sensei is the highlight but I love seeing a bunch of the characters grow as the series progresses. Plus it's always nice to see a show about the transformative power of a good teacher.

Looking forward to the Lando movie and Children of Blood and Bone is a great title, hopefully it's good too.
