  1. There were so many lines that made me laugh out loud this episode:

"It really takes the anger wind out of his butt sails."

"I don't really know how to talk to you."

"If we actually win this match, I will burn this pub to the ground...I will knock over a chair...I will channel my raging enthusiasm into ways to help my community."

Higgins' gagging noises will never not make me laugh.

Hunky Luca is indeed very hunky. Get it, Rebecca! I don't love the idea of Rebecca and Sam because he's so young. His 20th birthday was in the first season, so I assume he's only 21 now. But I think like 10 years from now it could work.

I LOVED Rebecca's game day outfit.

Loved Ted hiding his middle finger behind his jacket; it's those tiny details that make the show special. But I feel like Roy would suggest the British backwards peace sign and not the American middle finger.

While I've enjoyed this season and laughed a lot, to me the best episodes of Ted Lasso are the ones that are bittersweet, so I think this has been the best episode of the season.

3 seasons would be very British of the show.

Haha, but at least we're getting 10 or more episodes a season and not just like six. It reminds me of one of my favorite lines from The Good Place, "It ran for 16 years on the BBC; they did nearly 30 episodes."

Ok, I have to ask ... what is so horrible about Ted and Rebecca being together, if that happens? I'm sure it's obvious, but not to me. Could someone please bring me into the loop?

I haven't said anything about Ted and Rebecca and I don't think it would be *horrible* but I definitely don't want the pairing. For me, putting the two opposite sex main characters in a romantic relationship is a cliche. I think platonic relationships between grown men and women aren't explored nearly enough in tv shows and movies. Plus, it just seems lazy, like we don't know what else to do with these characters, so we're going to have them date. They've already paired up Roy and Keely, who I love separately and together, so just leave it at that.

Having said that, I trust the Ted Lasso writers, so if they do put Ted and Rebecca together, they could do a good job with it. But I'd still prefer that it not happen.

I don't think it was Ted on Rebecca's Bantr chat. My guess:  Rupert, because he's a shit. It wouldn't surprise me he'd be looking for hookups while Rebecca 2.0 is pregnant.

I don't think it was Ted either, but I can't see it being Rupert. I don't think he would be on an app where he can't see how hot and/or young the women are.

I definitely also thought the restaurant was being racist to Nate, especially when he went in to make the reservation and the hostess said she had to go ask the manager if she could give him the table.

I loved how big Isaac smiled when he saw Roy on the field. It'll be interesting to see how new coach Roy and newly humbled(-ish) Jaime interact now.

  5. Ugh, Brooks. Is Andy under the impression that people were clamoring for more Brooks?

Mary continues to wear allllllll the accessories. But I'm glad to see more about her crazy-ass "church" is coming to light.

As far as Jen goes, the feds don't indict unless they can convict and I have no doubt she is guilty of conning old people out of money. The fact that the other housewives seem to be siding with her over Lisa and Meredith is ridiculous but unsurprising.

  6. I don't normally watch celebrity interviews because I find them awkward, but this interview from a few weeks ago is so fucking funny. I was cracking up the whole time. You can also hear the crew cracking up too.

I'm torn. I was against it until I realized that it's just modern day marketing.  There's a lot of value in having enough of a social media following to introduce people to new products.

I'm trying to be less "get off my lawn" about things as long as people weren't trying to sell snake oil.

Yeah, I don't like influencers and I think they're bad for girls and young women, but how many (not already super rich) people would say no to getting a good chunk of change for something as simple as posting a video or photo? And, I mean, how in-demand is Freddie Smith as an actor? He's got bills to pay, too.

I can't blame them for taking the cash, but like you said, as long as it's not snake oil or diet lollipops or whatever the hell else the Kardashians and GOOP shill for. I think this is definitely a "don't hate the player, hate the game" situation.

(Is the Baroness really a nazi? I just watched 1/3 of the sound of music maybe its time to rewatch lmao)

The Sound of Music is one of the few musicals I've seen, probably (definitely) because of Captain Von Trapp. I don't think there's any indication in the movie that she actually is, but I could definitely see her and Max being apolitical/neutral about nazis, which, to quote Desmond Tutu, "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."

Also, this McSweeney's post about the cancelled Von Trapp/Baroness engagement is one of the funniest things I've ever read - https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/i-regret-to-inform-you-that-my-wedding-to-captain-von-trapp-has-been-canceled. A sample: "But I don’t want you to be angry at him. We are all adults here. “But Baroness,” so many of my friends have said, “you must be devastated. You yourself are fabulously wealthy, so you cannot have wanted the Captain for his money—you must have truly loved him.” It’s true. But so, I am sure, does his new fiancée, his children’s nanny. Her wardrobe is made of curtains. She’s definitely not a gold digger or anything."

  9. I cannot stand Jessica in When Thieves Fall Out. But I do think that episode is one of the best of the series.

Another episode I don't like her in is the season 1 finale, Funeral at Fifty Mile; the one with Seth before he was Seth. She wasn't obnoxious like she was in When Thieves Fall Out, but when it was revealed who murdered the guy and why, I thought she should have let sleeping dogs lie. Of course, if she let sleeping dogs lie, there wouldn't be a show.

  10. Agreed that this episode was much more LOL than the previous one. Though even the weakest Ted Lasso is funnier than 99% of everything else.

I laughed so loud when we saw that Keely was watching Roy's retirement speech. The second loudest laugh was Roy's "How the fuck does he know I love white orchids?" And Higgins' temporary offices get funnier and funnier. Though Nate was clearly unhappy about having to share his office. I would like to see Ted and Coach Beard address Nate's rudeness. I'm sure they will eventually, but it seems uncharacteristic that they haven't said anything about how he's treating the new kit man (can't remember his name).

I like that Dr. Sharon didn't immediately warm to Ted because, honestly, as much as I love Ted Lasso the show and Ted Lasso the character, if I met someone in real life who sang and danced the first time we met or came into my office without knocking, shouting about the Ted Lasso welcome wagon, I would find them quite overwhelming to the point that I would probably dislike them. Now that I think about it, there have been a few people I've met who were a bit like that and I very much did not like them at first, but once I got used to them and saw more than just their extreme extroversion, I warmed up to them like Dr. Sharon did Ted.

Karen Accused of Terrorizing Landlord?!(2020) -Plaintiff Sarah Rolak, suing her former landlady, Ana Belacqua for her security deposit, illegal eviction, return of rent, and an assault.

That landlord was a real piece of work. She got all offended when Judge Judy said she had issues, but she literally said a minute or two earlier that she had PTSD from renting to the plaintiff. Also, why in the world would she think that Judge Judy would know what a Karen is? Plus, of the two of them, the landlady seems like the type who would ask to see the manager.

It's not just his father's sexuality, there were years of lies covering it up, along with what sounds like like years of terrible parenting.

There was a 50-year-old secret in my family that I found out about around 10 years ago that messed me up for about a week, even though I wasn't particularly close to this relative and he had died 10 years before I found out. I was upset because it was a multi-decade lie over something relatively (pun fully intended) common (divorce). And because it was like, "My boring-ass family has a 50-year-old secret?! Because of a fucking divorce?! Who cares about a divorce?! (The answer to that question is - mid-century Catholics.) And what other mundane things might they be hiding?" So I can understand why Mark is spiraling. If I had been on vacation at the time and had nothing else to focus on, I might have wallowed too. And I don't think Mark is necessarily homophobic, though I'm not ruling it out. His reaction and emotions are still pretty raw and it must be a total mindfuck to think your dad died of cancer and then to find out, after several years, that it was AIDS and that multiple people lied to you about it.

    I hated Josh this episode.

I felt so bad for Melissa dancing by herself in the flashback; she looked so uncomfortable even before the significant others joined them. If someone you care about is forced to make a fool out of themselves, you get up there and make a fool out of yourself too. It's like people who "hate going to funerals;" well, yeah man, no one enjoys going to them, but you show up for the people you love.

That scene clearly struck a nerve, lol.

Poor Mrs. Menlove and Danny Bailey. But if I had drank as much gentlemen's punch as Melissa, I would have stuck around for breakfast.

I could not agree more - there was one with the male/female owners of a side by side duplex where he became unhinged and crawled up through her house, killed her and had 100 snakes or so could be a rival.

Omg, that episode was terrifying! There was a similar case on Forensic Files - though that was a robbery and not feuding neighbors - where there was an apartment building and two apartments shared an attic with no wall in the attic separating the two units, so the neighbor climbed into the attic (it was the kind where there aren't stairs or a ladder to access the attic, just a hole in the ceiling), walked over to the neighbor's side, climbed down to his apartment, and robbed and killed him.

And also, for those of you familiar with the movie Candyman, that was based on an actual story (well, not the supernatural parts of the movie) where in the Chicago housing projects in the 80's, people actually were able to climb into other apartments through the medicine cabinet. Here's an old Chicago Reader article about it - https://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/they-came-in-through-the-bathroom-mirror/Content?oid=871084

Her friend is marginally better, but not by much. I really can't stand rich kids who complain about their parents' career choices while also benefiting from said careers.

Ugh, YES! It reminds me of one of Rupert Murdoch's kids disavowing Fox News a year or two ago. My reaction was, "So you're gonna give all that money back?"

Also, the friend. You just got a free awesome vacation, so maybe don't act like such a twat. It's one thing to be shitty to your own family (I think we were all probably shitty to our families at that age); it's another to be shitty to someone else's family when you're a guest on their vacation.
