It seems as though Maddie may have been in prodromal labor...basically latent early labor. While miserable, it's not dangerous and is quite normal. As long as her water wasn't broken there shouldn't have been much risk in letting nature run its course...women can go days or weeks dilated at 4 or 5 cm. We saw the apprentice midwife stop by several times to check on the baby and the labor progress.

I'm a little surprised MTV doesn't have more influence on the casts' social media presence. I've been following most of the cast on instagram since the summer and it's pretty obvious what friendships/relationships they're genuinely in in real life.

Sarasota/siesta key can be a mixed bag as far as homophobia goes...politically it's very conservative and is mostly made up of old/wealthy white people. However there's definitely a gay community, it's not like you have to be secretive about your identity. I'm guessing his parents are conservative and I believe he said he's used to being in Miami which is obviously a more liberal area where he wouldn't have to worry about his parents catching on to his lifestyle. Beth is Alex's Mom, she's in her late 50s but that's what plastic surgery will do for you!

I really want to know the history of Chloe and the group too because there has to be a reason she gets punched in the face and everyone blames it on her. I thought maybe I could find some info online somewhere but I haven't come up with anything.

His dad isn't a practicing chiropractor, as far as I know. He started a legal/medical referral service called 1 800 ask Gary, so you get into a car accident, you call them and they'll help you with getting a lawyer/medical treatment. Nice detective work! At this point I'm half watching the show while playing solitaire most weeks. I wonder if Chloe still lives there...I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt but realistically she's probably moved back in with her mom already.

How did you find the listing for Chloe's condo? I thought the complex looked familiar, it's interesting to find out it's those condos because believe it or not they've actually spruced the place up a lot from what it appears on the show. But there's no way in hell one of those units is worth 157k even in Sarasota ?

Thanks for posting the link, I enjoyed listening. I hope they will continue, although now that they're a few weeks behind I'm not sure that they'll go back and discuss previous episodes. This week was interesting with Juliette setting out to screw Kelsey over. I actually thought she and garrett seemed pretty well matched in the intelligence/hobbies departments, although Juliette can't be all that ditzy if she got into FSU.

The hurricane made landfall south of us so we didn't take the brunt of the storm, but we got a pretty good beating. No major damage as far as I know, just REALLY messy yards, some downed trees, and a lot of grumpy people without power right now. We were expecting a direct hit so we got incredibly lucky.

First time poster...feels strange since I've been a longtime lurker! I guess reading about my hometown inspired me to join in on the fun. Of course as a Sarasota native I mostly enjoy watching this show to tear it to shreds, but it has become a guilty pleasure as well. 1-800-ask Gary is a household name in Florida. It's been around for awhile and their ads are played on tv/radio constantly. So yeah, they're loaded. Gary and his wife are known around town as being nice, down to earth people. It's a shame those qualities didn't get passed on to Alex. As far as tourism/snowbirds go, it's a love hate relationship. They're so essential to our economy, personally I don't mind them unless I see littering or other disrespect to the environment. One thing is for sure, most of the locations filmed are not on siesta. Garrett and Kelsey's anniversary date was on south lido beach, for example. Is anyone else confused about why everyone was blaming the nose breaking incident on Chloe? So she has a loud mouth, does that give Amanda the right to assault her? Did I miss something and Chloe swung at her first?
