  1. Unfortunately, we're not big on personal responsibility here.
  2. For a second, it reminded me of the scene in Mean Girls stepped in front of a moving bus but she actually ended up okay. Didn't work out here, though. Also, is there anyone else who thought Leia could have given up the passenger seat to the elderly gentleman with brain cancer? I kind of agree with you, but I can't bring myself to hate Andrews. He seems like a compassionate doctor to the patients; it's just the interpersonal work relationships he needs to work on! Testicle guy?!?!?!?!? LOL; love it!!
  3. Cersten! That's a name I haven't heard in awhile. I wonder how she's doing in her little third world medical school?
  4. Oh heck noooooo! When Theodore White interviewed Jackie for a Life article after JFK's death, she insisted on editorial control over it (which she was given because...Jackie Kennedy) and was not shy about adding things to her agenda. Even the famous like at the end of the story, "“for one brief shining moment there was Camelot", was her handiwork. And, no, you're right not to buy into it. Nothing against the Kennedy family but, you know, facts and all. Stanford is a big deal everywhere! She's definitely no dummy.
  5. Are you talking about "Amsale Girls"? I really liked that show; I wish it would have run longer. The one continuing feature that I detest is when the bride and/or entourage is indecisive and the sales folks get out some random veil and maybe some costume jewelry and all of a sudden everyone is crying and going on about how this is "THE ONE". Those same people would probably never figure out that Superman is just Clark Kent without his glasses on.
  6. You know, it makes me wonder if DCC fans who are trained dancers have different favorites than those of us who don't know First Position from a plie. I look at Gina and I look at Kashara and I couldn't tell you who is more technically proficient but my eye will go to Kashara every time because she just has.....something.....that makes me want to look at her.
  7. Unless it was some government fuddy duddy who wanted to use his "connections" because only the little people have to rely on the police!
  8. Based on the outside of her townhouse, I'd always assumed Murphy lives in Georgetown. Definitely not a place where a taco truck with or without a cracked tail light would be welcome. I could definitely imagine an irate homeowner complaining about that to the police. In the medical field, the rule we live by is, "if it isn't documented, it didn't happen"! I love this show, but I agree with what you said about the writing. I often find myself thinking, "That was funny, but they should have said...". I also find it annoying how the peripheral characters don't actually interact with other cast members at times. Reminds me of when my kids were in their school plays in grade school and there was only one microphone so one kid would go up to the microphone and say his line then leave, then another kid would go up to make the reply and leave and so on." Does that make any sense? Phyllis does it a lot.
  9. I don't think they met "give it to Dak Prescott", though! Now I feel stupid because I actually put down my potato masher and ventured into the family room because I enjoyed the show so much!
  10. When I was 19, I remember throwing a hissy fit and throwing a rock through my boyfriend's car window because I had to work the night of his fraternity formal and he wanted to take a friend. (definitely a friend, as opposed to a "friend") Looking back at it now, it makes me cringe. We probably all have cringe-inducing memories of ourselves at 19! (although not necessarily felonious memories, I admit)
  11. Well, I gotta know who took that picture! I love your posts; you are an excellent addition to this board!
  12. Hi everyone! Long time Murphy Brown fan; first time posting on this board. Loving this reboot; I get at least one belly laugh every episode! Candace Bergen looks great. I agree with all the Avery drooling. He played a Navy SEAL in the movie "American Sniper" and boyfriend sure could fill out a t shirt (although I prefer him now with the beard). Interesting fact: My oldest daughter is named Avery and while she was not exactly named after baby boy Brown, I heard the name on the show and thought it was nice. Now that the show's back she has communicated that it was not cool at all that I gave her a "boy's name", nevermind the fact that TV Avery was named after Murphy's mother. PS: Ugh. So I'm checking out the tushie on a man who is the same age as my daughter. That just feels so wrong.
  13. LOL! Yeah, I agree about the Heinz! As a native, I offer my sincere apologies. I promise you, we're not all like that! "Yinzers" are an embarrassment to all of us. As for your boss....tell her that we do NOT consider Greensburg to be a part of the Pittsburgh area. It's not even in the same county for goodness sakes. And NO area has more oddball terms than we do; I promise you that.
  14. I think Steven seems like an earnest guy, if somewhat immature. But then, he is still young. I wonder why he didn't make an effort to see to it that his child was born in the United States? Does the visa process take that long? I went to the State Department website and came upon this subject heading: Birth Abroad in Wedlock to a U.S. Citizen and an Alien and laughed my a$$ off. After I was done laughing, I found that it makes a difference whether the father and the "alien" are married or not. Also, there are some conditions that need to be met for the child to be granted citizenship. But not automatic like if he were born in the US.
  15. Being from Pittsburgh, I have a hard time saying anything positive about Philly; but I must admit the buttery pretzel intrigues me! ;)
  16. Not her fault that it keeps growing back, I guess?
  17. Bravo! That was brilliant!
  18. That was before I started watching. Could you please give me a recap?
  19. OMGosh, please post often; I laughed my a$$ off when I read this!
  20. Every time she came on the screen, I was just gawking at her hair! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it; I was thinking I was weird or something!
