This is what I kept thinking and why I couldn't work up any sympathy for Brianna as she sat there sobbing about how "unfair" it is that her baby daddies don't do more to help her. Of course useless Dr. Drew didn't say it, but the obvious advice an "expert" should be giving someone with Brianna's complaints is to get court-ordered child support. There is no point in arguing about how much she thinks Devoin should pay vs. how much he thinks he should pay.

I'm sure she's too stupid to have looked into how these things work at all, so she probably has no idea, but that's on her. Her mom and sister, who seem to function as her primary advisors, don't seem to get it either. They keep making what they seem to think is a moral argument about a situation that is legal. Brianna could certainly at least pay an attorney to meet with her for an hour to explain things to her, but she seems to be set on thinking it's a clever strategy to keep her kids' dads' names off their birth certificates and unwilling/unable to see how it's not really working out for her. It seems unlikely/impossible that either baby daddy would try to get full or even 50/50 physical custody, which is what I thought she was trying to prevent, except now she seems to be trying to get Devoin to take Nova half the time anyway. So what's the point of not acknowledging Devoin (at least) as the legal father? If she did that, the court would set an amount for child support and would make him pay it regularly or face legal consequences. She probably still wouldn't be happy with the amount, but she wouldn't have to whine or beg or set up stupid meetings where she shows him receipts for bills he's not legally responsible for.

She's just so stupid. She and her daughters aren't gaining anything by not acknowledging their dads legally; it only benefits the dads, who get to do or not do whatever they want because they have no legal obligations to their kids. I can't see either being willing to go to court to fight her on the schools their kids go to or what medical treatments they receive or anything like that. She can't really have someone else adopt the kids without the dads' consent since she's publicly acknowledged both of them as the fathers, on international TV no less, for years. I don't get what she sees as the upside to the "strategy" at this point.

If I hear the words "put you on child support" from Briana again, I'll sign Devoin up myself. That's her favorite mantra. She doesn't do it because she would have to follow a parenting plan too. She definitely doesn't want that.

    Indeed.

Also, JJ ruled by once again applying her stubborn reluctance to award business people anything more than the bare minimum and even less if possible. She stated that since he inherited the salon furniture, he paid zero for it and therefore could claim nothing.  Following that logic, if defendant had torched the building, they would have not been allowed any compensation because they also inherited it. Even property received through inheritance has intrinsic value (accounting for depreciation if it applies) once it comes into an heir's possession.

It looked as if she had a swelled head, which from her demeanour is probably a good representation of the high opinion she holds herself in.

Defendant deserved much more for the work he did for those two pretentious fools (at least they lost their case and exposed themselves on TV as hideous people to deal with).

Male plaintiff had freaky eyes. Is that an illness?

You are not alone.  I mean is there even really a market for this?  People that are interested in Maci read poetry?  I certainly am not and even less so because it’s not someone noteworthy.  I just don’t see where there is an audience for this.  But what do I know.

Actually yes. I read quite a bit of poetry, Just not anything written by a Teen Mom. I am a fan of hers.

    Catelynn : I ain’t paying $20,000 for no kid .
Well luckily you don’t have to when many people do .  Shut up .

I personally think it’s very unnatural to be able to pick your child’s sex . I feel like you should be happy with whatever you are intended to have .  Tyler and catelynns reaction during Vaedas gender reveal was really pretty disgusting . “ I don’t want no damn girl .” Man , these two grate .

Maci has been looking extremely rough lately . All that beer is finally catching up to her .

Something tells me she might be pregnant again. (Maci)

  5. Has anyone noticed if/when a litigant has appeared more than once but with different cases? I'm watching an old one and I think the defendant appeared previously with her twin sister.

I hope they are press on nails and not acrylic 🤨

Me too. Leah surely has had an acrylic/gel nail break. They are painful. There is no way I'd allow a 10 year old to wear them. For any reason.

So if Jenelle comes back, who gets booted? Briana or Jade?

I hope Briana goes. Her storyline repeats itself. All she's doing is looking for her next baby daddy.

I'm rooting for Jade. It's nice to see a realistic view of a new mom. MTv Thank you.

  8. As a  Chelsea fan I'm greatly disappointed in her choice to shill overpriced diaper bags and what? She's now a handbag designer? That purse she was going on about is nothing more than a typical discount department store purse. Her originality is zero. Why do I feel this charade was manufactured by MTv?

I was just on a message board from a shopping channel and there was a thread about the show.  The consensus was that the show has become boring, the kids are not well behaved and continuing to watch it has become pointless.

On the other hand, there are thousands and thousands of Facebook posts where adoring fans relentlessly fawn over the family and the kids.  Not even ONE negative comment.

My guess is that the show has run its course.  It will not be renewed.  That is probably best for the kids as once they're out of the media spotlight their development might be more prone to "normal."

Of course, the family will have to adapt to the loss of income.  Bill, for one, will probably regret not being seen as a "celebrity."

As much as I love Zoey (really the only reason I watch) it is turning reminiscent of when Matt Roloff would spend an entire season product endorsing to get free stuff for his house. Rather then showcase the ups and downs of dwarfism and other related aspects these over the top birthday parties are a perfect example. They don't spend a dime of their own money. But will gladly accept this ridiculousness.

Yes! Pretty sure Theresa isn't running off to rehab at the drop of a hat and traumatizing Carly the way Catelynn does to Not Carly.  Cate is kidding herself if she doesn't realize that the panic little Novalee  goes through when her Mom leaves the house for just a simple errand is her fault.

  13. Sheldon made it very clear that he will never get anyone's name tattoo'd on his body. Unsurprisingly I'm okay with that.

Cole's work looks great. I agree with whoever said above that it is a little busy.

Andrew made her a charcuterie board in one episode and she acted like it was THE height of classiness. No other boyfriend has ever made their girlfriend a platter of meats and cheeses.

Hmmm at my house we call that SNACKS. Must run off and wake up Sheldon to enlighten him.

Exactly. Fellow teacher here. In 10 years of teaching, I know of exactly one person who has been a 1:1 aide to the same student from grade six to now (grade 11). The situation is extremely rare because the parents are amazing, the student is high functioning and everyone gets along really well. That said, the aide is ONLY working another year with her student because while she’s exhausted, she wants to see the student finish grade 12. The aide already told the district she’s leaving in 2020.

This is also exactly why Leah & Cory need to learn the freakin basics of how the Special Ed dept and an IEP work, especially when their daughter is eligible for a 1:1 aide.

Ali’s IEP undoubtedly states she “will have a 1:1 aide”, but I can guarantee it doesn’t say “Jane Doe will be Ali’s 1:1 for the remainder of her school days.” IEPs don’t even mention specific names; it’s always typed as: “Teacher reports ______________” or “The team agrees that ______________.” It’s not meant to be shady at all. It’s recorded as very general on purpose in order to get the student the services they need.

Districts don’t hire 1:1 aides for the entire duration of a student’s academic career. Just like any job, it might not always a great fit. The burnout rate is sky high and the pay is minimal. It’s not even a full time job with benefits. There are way too many variables to think about having the same 1:1 for X years.

Even IF Ali had a specifically assigned aide named in her IEP from now until 12th grade and the aide was horrible, Leah & Cory would (and should) request a new aide. Perhaps then they’d understand why students aren’t guaranteed the same 1:1 aide from Kindergarten to grade 12. Ali will always have an aide, as her IEP is a legally binding document, but when they bitch about certain details, all it does is continue to illustrate how uneducated they both are about the very basic details of the IEP.

Not to minimize Ali’s health, but this is when I remind myself that this is a TV show. I wouldn’t be shocked if this was all planted. We didn’t see the bus driver tell Leah: “Sorry, no willchair on the bus.” They knew they had to call ahead of time. How does a parent forget that integral part of their kid’s first day of school? I refuse to believe that no one has ever said to Leah and Cory: “Ali will always have an aide, but we cannot guarantee it’ll be the same person for X years. Things happen. People might move away, get pregnant or have a different opportunity to work.”

It’s straight up annoying to watch her continue to act like a victim as she talks about Ali & the school issues because I’m convinced it’s all a bunch of lies. She doesn’t work, so why doesn’t she march her ass down to the district office and get answers ASAP if she’s so worried instead of waiting for someone to call her back? It doesn’t make sense. She’s got no storyline/material to work with, so producers probably thought they’d be able to “educate people” about being the parent of a student with special needs. (Zero snark intended about the “being a parent”part. I see how draining it is on most parents whose kids have an IEP.)

Stepping off of my soap box and taking off my tin foil hat now. 😉

I just want to tell you right ON! Every single word.

    • In my daughter's childhood there was no way I had time to do full make-up with eyelashes on Christmas morning. This is the one thing I don't like about Chelsea as grown up as she seems to be she sill has that superficial side.

I feel only empathy for Jen and Larry, since I went through a similar situation many years ago with my son.   My way of dealing with it went against the "tough love" approach.  Some may have accused me of enabling, but I am beyond grateful that my son is 30 years old now and hasn't used drugs in years.  He has a very good job, will be married soon, and worked as a D&A counselor in his earlier years of recovery.  That first real job seemed to help him with his sobriety as much as it helped the recovering youth with whom he worked.  He was much younger than Ryan when he got clean, but still....  I believe a parent's pure love will steer a child straight before the alternative:  being tossed on the street to mingle with others of the same ilk.  Also, Ryan's parents obviously are contributing to his recovery by supporting his rehab efforts, no matter how many times it takes.

In any case, Jen and Larry would not even BE on Teen Mom, along with appearing at those obnoxious interviews with Dr. Drew, were it not for Maci signing up for the show in the first place, albeit a decade earlier.  After all, someone had to initiate MTV's filming, thus allowing the nation to view Maci's messed-up, baby-out-of-wedlock, world.  And they're all still allowing it.  I remember Maci announcing she'd prohibit her son from filming due to Farrah's immoral presence, but she's still filming, and so much for yanking Bentley from the camera's prying eye.

I believe the producers coax Jen and Larry to participate on this show; otherwise, another feeble storyline would dry up.  As it stands, the show is choking by on its last breath.  I give it another season, and that's being generous.  In the meantime, it's not easy for me to find fault with Ryan's parents.  Just don't get me started on his wife.

They can quit anytime they want to. Nobody is forcing them to film.  Same was true for Rhine and Mack before they were fired.
