  1. Once a house is listed with a realtor does the seller have any control over who buys it? Yes, they can refuse offers based on price, but if the Beelzebubs came in with a fair offer, and JB refused it, couldn’t they say they were being discriminated against because well, they’re devils? Since the house is on Zillow and multiple listing it’s out there for all who are interested, and if JB wanted to control what it was eventually used for wouldn’t he have to sell it privately? The lack of bedrooms continues to mystify me. I also wonder what the neighbors think of this monstrosity. They must have had a continuous flow of trucks going and down that road for a long, long time.
  2. I kept the jerseys but not all the cleats, only the ones that still fit. I framed in a shadow box my grandson’s first town rec. league baseball shirt. He was 4 yrs.old. He’s kept the same number during all his school years and it was one of only a few that had his name on the back as well as the number. His uncle, my other son, recently gave him a bunch of his original LED Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd tees. Grandson loves their music and gets compliments every time he wears one. They will make a great quilt one day although The Rolling Stones tee is getting kind of ragged.
  3. Wouldn’t it be funny if it originally had an indoor pool under a retractable floor that’s been hidden. One like in those old Esther Williams movies? One that the Duggars know nothing about?
  4. I wonder why Eddie had no bridesmaids? She could have snagged Erin and Nicki, and Danny’s boys for extra groomsmen. I guess then it would be a true all -Reagan affair, but they never show any of them hanging out with friends. Jamie is so serious, but he did attempt a little smile at the end.
  5. There is one in DC that my granddaughter has visited. She’s going back to DC again for a summer internship and can’t wait to visit it again.
  6. The rest of the clue said something along the lines that it was first used in Houston, so I guessed Astro turf because of the Houston Astros.
  7. As it’s been said here many times, it’s funny that Meshelle took advantage of all that medicine has to offer and delivered most of her children in a hospital under a doctor’s care. She has done her daughters no favors throughout the years. She never taught them to cook or clean, she blamed them for their brother’s actions, and now doesn’t advise them to get proper medical care as she did. She was there when Jill and Jessa had complications( not sure about Joy),and even then it doesn’t seem to phase her one bit. I can’t even force myself to like this woman for one minute. In my eyes, she’s the worst of the bunch. If Joy is going the VBac route at home the outcome could be tragic.. Having a boutique ultrasound is not an encouraging sign that she’s under proper medical care.
  8. If that’s a bedroom it looks pretty large. Maybe, the bedrooms are designed to accommodate lots of people like the boys and girls dorms in the TTH. They packed 19 children into 2 rooms. If they did that, they’d still have a master suite and a guest room, and that would also account for the extra bathrooms. I still can’t figure out the reason for all the kitchens unless Jill is going to give cooking classes. Whatever it is, it’s one fugly house. The good thing is that it’s giving us lots to snark about, and probably will for months to come since I don’t envision a quick sale.
  9. I would imagine that Alex has private chemo sessions. Most hospitals have a few private rooms, but most are communal with patients relaxing in recliners while they get their treatment. There are curtains that can be drawn around each area but many patients tend to leave them open to chat with others. Some will walk around pushing their IV. Sadly, the chemo lab is always filled to capacity. I’ve seen teens, businessmen, and the elderly. It’s amazing that some businessmen go to work right after their session. The nurses are angels, Chemo tends to irritate the veins, so as time goes on putting in the IV gets more difficult. They never missed. My chemo session would last 3 hrs.,so I would be treated to a roast beef sandwich, a warm blanket and lots of kind words. Thanks for all your kind words, this is Alex’s struggle, and I don’t want to make it about me, but I survived stage 3 lung cancer.. I was given a year, max, and that was 2011. So, with new treatments available there is hope for others and many more success stories. I hope Alex continues to do well, I don’t know if I could watch Jeopardy without him.
  10. Thank you. In June I will be 8 years cancer free.
  11. I noticed the difference in his hair this week. His sideburns are thicker and the top a little fuller, but it’s a very good hairpiece. When I had chemo I was given a combo that did not cause me to lose my hair, it just caused it to thin, and it did go back to normal after I finished treatment. Chemo is exhausting. They give you steroids the day before and the day of to prevent nausea, and you feel great, then comes the letdown along with extreme fatigue. When you start feeling normal, it’s time for the next round. I hope he does well. It’s encouraging that he can still host the show.
  12. I wish it were true that the boys did the work. That would raise my opinion of them instead of picturing them lolling around the TTH doing nothing. When the house was described as mansion, I was picturing one of those beautiful old homes in Charleston or Savannah, not this bunker. If I were in the market for a house I wouldn’t be able get past the exterior even to see that the inside isn’t so bad. With three kitchens, maybe the buyer will chop it up into apartments, if zoning allows.
  13. I said coloratura which is a high soprano. The Bell Song from Lakme is extremely difficult with an very high range. I wonder if that would count.
  14. Well the way I see it, Anna’s little business is a plus for Josh. It’s perfect for him to divert his mail, Log into dating sites, even arrange in-person “meetings”.
  15. I wasn’t comparing myself to a midwife, just saying that the courses for nurses and nurse midwives are very demanding. Lots of science and math. Jill doesn’t have the background in either from her SODRT.education. Even if she were permitted to try, she’d have to spend a long time taking the required courses for admission to a nursing program. At this point, I don’t think she’s had many of them, if any. Nursing has gotten a bad rap for years. My family was very upset that I chose nursing because they didn’t think it was respectable..It was what I wanted and I never regretted it.( even in the beginning when my salary was less than the local garbage man) So, wnen I hear “just” a nurse, it’s upsetting because nurses work extremely hard no matter what their field of nursing. In some fields it’s extremely physical as well as emotional. We serve in the military, we go into the slums, we do mission work in developing countries. So, back OT, I know we all wish that the Duggar children would do something, anything to get out into the world and pursue an education, but I doubt it will happen. The husbands of the Duggar girls won’t allow it, and the boys seem to have no initiative. Very sad . Sorry for the rant. I do love your posts.❤️
  16. I agree with most of what you said, but I do take exception to Jill ever becoming a midwife or “just” an L&D nurse. I was an RN (retired ) for over 40 years, and an L&D nurse. The courses for becoming an RN or CNM, are strenuous. Not only does one have to study all the systems of the human body and how they function, but how they react to illness. Nurses are taught pharmacology,( the list of medications, uses, and interactions, is in itself daunting),psychology, philosophy and many others. And then, they get to practice on humans! Being a L&D nurse is more than holding someone’s hand. In 40 years I’ve seen many serious complications, some life threatening to both mother and child. I’ve seen mothers die, and babies die, but mostly the maternity dep’t. is a happy place, that’s why I chose it. My grandson’s good friend is in college studying to be an RN. He is a bright kid with a great personality, and yet he is struggling with the course load. He laughs when I tell him how it was in the “old days”. Don’t mean to come down hard on you, I love your posts, but over the years I’ve worked with many great nurses, compassionate, caring, smart people and it hurts when I hear “just” a nurse. IMO, Jill wouldn’t last a week.
  17. I looked back at pictures of their courting days and Derick’s teeth were as off center then as they are now, and that was before all the years of braces. Tom Cruise has a similar condition though not as bad. If, with all his money Cruise can’t get his teeth aligned,I doubt that Derick ever will.
  18. It looks like Jeremy is as fastidious about his home as well as his clothes. His library is neat. He doesn’t even have a blotter on that desk with the fountain pen and ink.(?) Can anyone imagine him coming home to a dresser full of poop diapers? Jessa is a slob in the way she dresses and in keeping her home. The only thing for which I can give her credit is that the boys look clean and happy. Is Bin responsible for that too? When #3 comes into the world, we’ll see if anything changes.
  19. Those are Gucci loafers. He had the same ones on the other day. If they are real they’re about 800. There are a lots of copies of that shoe so it could be a Walmart special. ( Not criticizing Walmart, I have a pair of black slip-ones that are the same as a pair I bought last year and they are so comfortable. 16.95.) They look terrible with the shorts, but I guess if they’re genuine Gucci, he wants to show them off. The shirt tucked in and the belt make him look a lot older than he is. Not a good picture if he’s promoting the image of a fashion icon.
  20. Absolutely. Jinger has been taught from the cradle that her only goal in life is to keep her husband happy, and although her life may seem so different from her sisters, it really isn’t. Jeremy suggests the way she dresses, Jeremy decides where they will live and how they will live. ( With a good helping of Jinger’s money) Just like Derick, the man’s word is law and the little wife follows meekly. Jinger may think that she is blessed with a wonderful, well dressed, handsome husband who’s going to be a star, but I don’t think it will play out that way. Jinger is Jeremy’s means to an end. In their world, a wife and children are a plus. Having a family makes him look like a good Christian man, but as you said, they are his props. Jinger probably doesn’t know the meaning of the word narcissist, and she’s blinded by how “adventurous” her life has become, but Jeremy has big plans, and down the road, I think we will see less and less of Jinger in his professional life. She will be home with the kiddies, or hidden away like the Church of Scientology leader whose wife hasn’t been seen for years.
  21. Alex was at Harvard last Thurs. doing a spoof of Jeopardy for the Harvard Lampoon. Two of the caregories were;Jeopardy throughout the years, and Waking up with Alex Trebek. Without giving away too much personal stuff, a very close relative attends Harvard and said he looks well, has good color and seems very fit. That was nice to hear. I hope he beats this terrible disease. Jeopardy would never be the same for me without him.
  22. In the early days, TLC was very generous in sending the family on wonderful trips, but I have seen no evidence that any of the Duggars have benefitted or absorbed anything from them long term. They're still living in their insulated bubble associating only with the right type of Christian and praying to the correct Jesus. You would have thought that some of them would have gotten the urge to broaden their horizons and see the world and the wonders that it offers. But then again, Europe has lots of Catholics!!!, forget that it also has art, history great food and lovely people. And Israel has, well you guessed it, Jews!! who are not Christians. I would have given anything if TLC had done an episode of the family working on a kibbutz. But then they would have met strong young men and women working and fighting side by side. Heaven forbid!! The only thing I remember from any those trips is JB God- bothering the locals, and telling everyone they had 19 kids. Even in NY, at the pizza place didn’t he a hand out Bible tracts instead of a tip? The whole family is small minded, judgmental, fearful, and ignorant. Too bad they haven’t got a clue as to what they’re missing.
  23. And if a better gig came along which didn’t involve the ministry, Jeremy would drop his faux fervor for God like a hot potato, state that God is now leading them in a new direction and follow the money and fame.
  24. Well, now they can all learn the word narcissism. “Children today at the SODRT we’re going to learn about narcissism, and I’ve brought Uncle Jeremy along as an example.” “ Can you pronounce narcissism?” They also learned bankruptcy which actually may come in handy in the lean years ahead when they all go bust.
  25. Jeremy still has grandparents on his father’s side. His mother’s parents are deceased. It’s possible Derick received something from his father’s estate. Don’t forget his brother bought a house within the past year or so as well. Maybe, there was an insurance policy that was in trust for them. Or maybe, Derick sued his dentist.
