  1. Sounds all too familiar of what I have dug up from my clients. Then there are the old bottles of Jean Nate cologne, Aqua net hairspray buried in the back of their hallway closets. I am beginning to think, "I am seeing it all..." I have gotten my mother to get rid of stuff the last couple years and she's on it, while she can still move and walk and drive! Oh no...you don't want to wait!!! It is physically exhausting, and sometimes mentally exhausting too!
  2. I have a part-time de-cluttering business I do with my clients whose pets I have been taking care of for years. I can't even believe what people hold onto for decades! It's been an interesting switch of careers for me; fun, nostalgic stories behind some of the items. People throw things in the spare bedrooms or garage and say, "I'll get to it later." 40 years later!
  3. “I was dancing in a fashion show and Bobby brought him to the fashion show, and you know, he's kind of like hiding behind a pole and I was coming downstairs dancing,” she recalled. “And after he goes, ‘You are a sexy dancer.’ I'm gonna write a song about you. I'm like, ‘Okay,’ so anyways, that song came out a little bit after.” Goodness, the vocabulary.....🙄
  4. Ah ha! I love this, libgirl! Perhaps knowing she was one of the youngest, and has some sex appeal over, perhaps, a '70+ year old'. Perhaps putting herself out there live on t.v. with "look what I got, and I dated Prince". Her past marriages and relationships were "failures" (as she discussed numerous time), so if she put herself out on t.v. perhaps she would get more attention with Gerry? I know some here think of her as sexy, however, with her looking exhausted all the time, and as if she wasn't having fun, it took away from being 'sexy.' I still thought Edith and April were the 'sexy' and pretty ones. And Susan to me was beautiful because she was always smiling and laughing, looking like she enjoyed life. Same with Sandra and others.
  5. She has been very open to speak of her bad relationships, not being in love, etc, that this break-up just put her over the edge. Built up years of let downs, anger, heartbreak and possible lies; unfortunately she let it all out on Gerry. She was probably embarrassed too as she wrote vows and got herself a "$60,000 wedding dress". That was probably humiliating as he never properly proposed to her (or did he in the fanstasy suite?) Oh, and agree about Gerry not being any more out of line than other bachelors. They all kinda do this to the final couple of women.
  6. And perhaps focus on what the world has to offer - plenty of hobbies out there. Often there is more to life that being in a relationship, especially a bad one.
  7. I keep thinking that at Leslie's age, 2 failed marriages, and her constant "I never get chosen", her constant negativity on her failed relationships, that perhaps, she needs to just be single and that it's ok to be single? Isn't there a point that all the energy and effort, and constant let downs, heartbreak etc just get emotionally and physically exhausting, that, why bother anymore? If you don't have the tools to do a realationship well, then do you really want to keep putting yourself thru this at this age? Being so desperate for a relationship? Unfortunately what I am about to say isn't very nice, but she looks exhausted all the time, even from the beginning.
  8. So true. The thought of getting on an airplane - getting there hours before takeoff, the crowded security, the delays, and nowadays a bunch of drunk and/or unruly passengers whom want to hit a flight attendant, get into fights with other passengers, or someone having a baby on a plane (then having to make an emergency landing), or someone trying to get off the plane by exiting door, or planes being stuck on the tarmac for hours. I swear none of this occured back when I traveled extensively. Sometimes I just want to be a cat - just eat and sleep!
  9. Yes the Guilded Age! I love it! No wonder those women didn't work; look how long it takes to do their hair, and just contorting themselves to get into those oufits, oh, and getting that jewelry on!! Chloris Leachman did it for me; couldn't watch it anymore. I prefer to watch straight up Professional Ballroom Dance competitions.
  10. OM goodness 'unripe honeydew melon' - that is hilarious! And 'animals looking at the camera' !!! I love you for those comments !!!
  11. Based on the title alone, I just couldn't bring myself to see it!
  12. I love this sentence! So simple and to the point. Will utilize. Thanks!!
  13. Away from industrial noise, just the sounds of birds, nature and water. I personally would love the peace and serenity.
  14. That's a good one! Faith didn't expose that much of her chest throughout the season. Her nipples were almost exposed last night!!
  15. That is so nice to hear; my brother would never do that for my mom!
  16. Think of this as the next chapter of your life, this will be difficult. Your mom is lucky to have you!
  17. Wow! This sounds just like me! I traveled the world from ages 20-37 spending months in exotic places, adventure travels, etc. Some of my travels I remember thinking "so glad I'm doing this now cuz there is no way a retired person could have the strength and stamina to do this." I would work hard, save a bunch of money, and quit me job as well. 2 weeks vacation a year was never enough. I would beg for 'time off without pay. 3 years was my limit when I would quit and take 2-3 months off. Now? The thought of going to an airport and getting on a plane seems such a burden, unruly passengers getting in fights with flight attendendants or other passengers....I have seen plenty of the world .
  18. May you enjoy chocolate cake with Mocha Buttercream frosting on this special day!
  19. I developed the perfect answer many years ago to the insensitive questions when people would ask me: "How come you aren't married?" My answer "Am I suppose to be?" Or, "Why don't you have kids?" My answer: "Am I suppose to?" How can one argue those answers. Marriage/children is not for everyone. Well, not for me at least. I have traveled the world, had/have many hobbies.
