  1. I thought that the phone was a bit jarring since it was still a bit of a luxury to have a phone in your home in 1940, especially in the projects.
  2. A bit of a homage to Bradbury's "There Will Come Soft Rains" there with the apartment and apartment building, I think!
  3. In her defense, she was totally understandable (and awesome) in Spartacus and Lucifer, so it appears to be a production choice.
  4. I think that was creative license or Navarro hallucinating. There's an excellent documentary titled A Certain Kind of Death (on YouTube) about people who die without anyone to make burial arrangements. For the indigent who are unclaimed after a period of time, they cremate. First was the cremation process, then it cools and is raked into a pan and put through a grinder type of thing before being boxed. Ask A Mortician goes into much more detail about exactly what happens at each step: https://youtu.be/6TSFX-hFgIk?si=TjKeCdPcowOE_NO7
  5. Enterprising older kids turned them into clackers and sold them to the younger kids. It's a wonder we didn't all knock out our teeth!
  6. The bubbly chandelier reminded me of those glass grapes and clackers from the 1970s, but it looked okay once installed.
  7. I got a bit of Dionne quintuplets vibe from the doctor who oversaw Brenda's pregnancy. https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2019/11/03/dionne-quintuplets-exploitation-five-girls-raised-baby-zoo/
  8. This is interesting - gives a background on (W)GBH and has archives of some of the shows including from the 1960s. https://americanarchive.org/participating-orgs/1784.2 (Click on view all records to access the files - the older files appear to be mostly audio.)
  9. If you're one of the people that missed out on some/all of the first seven seasons AND have HBO/Max and want to see what you missed (or didn't), they've worked out a deal with AMC+ and will be showing it through the end of October. https://variety.com/2023/digital/news/max-amc-plus-series-fear-walking-dead-1235706198/
  10. There's the last scene of World Beyond which talks about variants & I think is setting things up for Daryl Does France. Walking Dead World Beyond Post Credits Scene
  11. I whipped through this quickly and enjoyed it. It's gory, but not "serious" gore if you know what I mean. I hope there's a season two!
  12. That has always bugged me about this particular zombie universe. I. Don't. Care. About. The. Kids. There - I said it. I want to know what the original characters are up to. And if you're going to insist on making kids the main characters, then at least age them up enough so that their actions & dialogue make sense. Yeah, an 8 year old is totally going to be able to do radiation therapy & convince adults to do stuff. Right. (I do think the actress playing Mo is doing a decent job.)
  13. Dwight calls Sherry honey a lot. Shrike (and one of The Minimalist guys) remind me of Eraserhead.
  14. So that bottle drying rack that Ben & his buddies found when out scavenging reminded me of this by Marcel Duchamp circa 1914 - I guess we should be happy it wasn't a discarded urinal!
  15. Season 6 is coming to Netflix in April per What's On Netflix! https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/better-call-saul-season-6-netflix-release-schedule-03-2023/ So fingers crossed that they are correct.
  16. Lance Reddick always brought his A game to everything he was in & if I saw he was part of a show, I'd generally give it a shot. I even watched that godawful Resident Evil Netflix series just because he was in it (and the best part of it).
  17. It's kind of funny that the title "Looks Like We Made It" is a Manilow song after Graham and Karen dissed him a few episodes ago.
  18. She was awesome in Lucifer and Spartacus! If I'm remembering right she went through the gladiator training during Spartacus. And she could certainly kick some ass on Lucifer.
  19. Every time they say Honor Dogs, I think:
  20. Yeah, I'd like to watch it, but with that scheduling, it's unlikely I'll be able. Middle of the day for me on MST - gonna be doing that work thing both days. What a waste.
  21. With a one bathroom home, a tub/shower combo is probably the better option for resale.
  22. Instead of "Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon," they should call it "Dirty Daryl Does Paris".
  23. I'm very late to the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul party, but just watched Pimento last night and thought he (Mark Proksch) was going to use his energy vampire skills on Mike and Simon/Trevor (Steven Ogg) in his intro scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N723si1wAG8
  24. I had gotten the first book in the series for free and wound up reading it today. IMO, they really improved the story - they may have borrowed a bit from subsequent books, but overall, I think it flowed pretty well.
