  1. Thumbs down on the JL Amazon costumes. They're warriors, not swimsuit models.
  2. Gal Gadot is GQ's "Wonder Woman Of the Year."
  3. Re Thor: Ragnarok, let's not forget "Send help" or my personal favorite, from Thor re Hulk, "He's a friend from work!" Once again, Chris Hemsworth proves that he's just as funny as he is fine.
  4. Thor: Ragnarok was filled with great fight scenes, such as
  5. I want Luke to sit in the Gunners' seat again. If he remembers Han telling him "Don't get cocky," that's even better.
  6. The Good Housekeeping issue includes such gems as "A Wade With Words: Deadpool's Holiday Newsletter," " Giving Your Family the Bird: Deadpool's Guide To Carving A Holiday Turkey" & my personal favorite, "You'll Go Crazy For D's Nuts...And Creamy Clam Skinny Dip."
  7. Bumping it up to add the Marriage proposal of 2017 World Series champs Houston Astros' Carlos Correa to his girlfriend Daniella Rodriguez. Correa promised himself that if his team won the Series, that he would ask Daniella to marry him, which he did-and she accepted. Normally, I don't like these kind of public proposals, but the moment was so sweet it warmed my cold, dead heart.
  8. Cute Party City commercial: Party City's "Wonder *Women*"
  9. Shame Underground was canceled. Calling Queen Sugar.....
  10. After seeing trailer #2, my mind is blown. Chadwick is perfect, MBJ is perfect, Lupita is perfect, Angela is perfect, Danai is perfect, the Dora Milaje are perfect-oh hell, the whole fucking movie is perfect.
  11. Steven Spielberg does a cameo as the Cook County Clerk in The Blues Brothers.
  12. Grace Park & Daniel Dae Kim might disagree.
  13. I just saw 50 Shades Darker & it sucked only slightly less than the first because of the scene when Anastasia was sexually harassed by her boss & she responded by breaking his finger and kneeing him in the nuts. That I first saw it on the same week of the Harvey Weinstein scandal made it even better.
  14. Bumping it up with something sweet: given Roxanne Gay's praise of Magic Mike XXL, this recent tweet of her and Channing must have been one of the greatest days of her life: Roxanne & Channing
  15. As he's proven time and time again, Deadpool approves of spitting out words, which is what I meant.
  16. Since Deadpool 2 has officially stopped shooting & has an official release date (June 1st, 2018), I figured that now's the time for it to have a brand-new thread of its own, so if you've got something to say-like Deadpool usually does-spit it out here.
  17. If the Harvey Weinstein scandal isn't an SVU episode begging to happen, then I don't know what is.
  18. From "The Filibuster": T.K., to Dina:" What's up?" Dina:" It's my back brace. It's 'phone book' week. I don't know why we still have these things, but then again, how would anyone find their local Radio Shack or Blockbuster? " T.K.: " What's Blockbuster?" "Dina: " Don't worry about it." Val, to Courtney, about the veto override: "If you had listened to me before, we could've taken an informal vote just to test the waters & we could've cut a back-end deal." Courtney: "So this is your process, huh?" You have a meeting before the meeting, you have a meeting after the meeting?" Val: "Yeah." Jermaine: "Pre-party, party, after-party. You scope out girl at the pre-party, you chat her up at the party & then you close the deal at the after-party. Man, we started bragging about the after-party way too soon [and] homegirl bailed. (sighs) Life lessons. They really travel."
  19. Another great episode. If Scandal shows the worst of politics, then The Mayor shows it st its best, or at least as it should be. Courtney, Jermaine & TK are learning about their new jobs. Little by little, Courtney is discovering that keeping promises is much easier said than done, especially in politics. Courtney wanted to give the kids at his old school new musical instruments, but he learned the hard way that he can't just strut into a City Council meeting, drop a "V-bomb," aka a veto & get what he wants. Jermaine learned that while social media exposure for Courtney is important, he can't film every crazy thing Courtney says/does because it can backfire, like the City Council nuking Courtney's "V-bomb." TK learned during his ride along with Dina about the importance of identifying the problems & telling Courtney about them so he can try to solve them. Even Councilman Gunt learned something: that denying help to poor kids on a viral video is not a good look. Re the Lea Michele Factor, I like her so much more here than on Glee because unlike Rachel, Val isn't obsessed with being the center of attention Every. Fucking. Second. Yvette Nicole Brown is comedy gold, whether she's giving Courtney a haircut in the Mayor's office or giving TK advice in the mail truck. All this & Larry Wilmore, too. He's one of the only people in the world who can make pie charts sexy.
  20. ITA. This trailer is even better than the first. As for Rey, while she may be tempted by the Dark Side, I doubt she'll turn to it or Kylo Ben, especially after what he did to her, Finn & especially to Han. Seeing Carrie Fisher both made me smile & broke my heart all over again, just like the end of Rogue One.
  21. So devastating. Tom Petty was a rock icon who put out so much brilliant music that stood the test of time, whether it was with the Heartbreakers, the Traveling Wilburys or his solo songs. Besides writing great songs, Petty made great music videos, such as "You Got Lucky," "Learning To Fly," ""Runnin' Down A Dream,"" Into the Great Wide Open, " "Free Fallin'," " Mary Jane's Last Dance" & "Don't Come Around Here No More," the latter two of which were filled with the kind of dark humor that made them classics. Speaking of humor, Petty was also hilarious as the voice of the barely coherent Lucky on King Of the Hill. Petty had struggled with addiction in the past but he had reportedly overcome it and had been clean and sober for almost 20 years, which isn't easy, especially in show business. BW Manilowe: That picture is beautiful and poignant, on several levels. Thanks for posting it. Tom Petty made many great videos, but my favorite is "Don't Come Around Here No More," because of the aforementioned dark humor, especially the last shot: Don't Come Around Here No More RIP, Tom.
  22. While I've never had much use for Jimmy Kimmel before, my verdict on the new, "woke" version: I love it. Kimmel's talking about issues that hit close to home for him, whether it's healthcare because of his son's surgery or the Las Vegas massacre because he's a native. Kimmel is speaking truth to power in his own way and I'm not only impressed, I've got a newfound respect for him because of it.
  23. My verdict: Ryan Gosling did a good job, breaking and all. However, "Nerlins" aside, the opening monologue about Gosling "saving jazz" did go on too long and IMO would have been funnier if either his other La La Land co-star John Legend, Harrison Ford or Moonlight director Barry Jenkins showed up and said "Bitch, please." The "Woke Jeans" sketch, spoofing liberal identity politics, was funny, as was IMO, Gosling's breaking during the Alien Abduction sketch. Given that Gosling broke in the original sketch, I expected him to do it again. Because it can never, be said enough, "Papyrus."
  24. Even better if the WW skit involves her using the Golden Lasso either on Alec Baldwin's Trump, Melania, Don Jr. & Eric or several members of the Cabinet, including Ivanka, Jeff Sessions and especially Rex Tillerson.
