  1. I can't believe all the Negative Nancys on this forum... I've only skimmed through 2 pages of this thread & I've had enough! The overwhelmingly positive consensus on Reddit is in direct opposition to most of the complaining on here. TV critics seem to agree with Reddit. I'm out.
  2. Bosch is the WORST teammate ever... always going rogue on the case & leaving his partners in the dark. I don't know if we're supposed to like him, but I do NOT like the guy. To me he's no anti-hero, just an asshole. Also, the daughter storyline felt very out of place... tone completely changed & episodes lost all momentum in those scenes. I think it could have been left out completely w/no effect on the plot... perhaps the show runners are trying to pull a more diverse audience or something? For me, it was boring & took me out of the episode. You must not watch The Americans anymore because Paige is definitely not a "waste of space" character... she has a huge role in the plot, whereas the Maddie character here does not.
  3. Until a new thread is made, I'll just go ahead and say that I do not like Luke (the actor isn't helping either). He's quite dull & doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities... & superficially I don't even find him attractive. I find Nick's character more sympathetic on the show than in the book... & he's definitely hot, although boyish.
  4. Lyla from SOA is a terrible actor... she pulls me out of every scene she’s in. This is too big a role for her here... rest of casting is spot on.
  5. I’m not a fan of the teenage daughter storyline on any show... it was painful watching it on 24 & Homeland. This isn’t quite as bad, but still bad. Only show that a teenage daughter storyline works is on The Americans & that’s because she has a specific role in the plot as a XXX (don’t know how to do spoilers, but if you watch you’ll know what I mean).
  6. I kept wanting to say, "Well _________ is not like that in book." Mainly because I didn't like most of the changes the show made. The only change I remember liking was not killing little Joseph. I was so disappointed with the appearance of Beecham in the show.... only because the entire time I was reading the book, I imagined him to look exactly like "The Swede" from the TV show Hell on Wheels (he was also tall, bald, & crazy). I was vaguely hoping the actor would appear in the show, but lost hope when glimpses of Beecham proved otherwise. I also could not stand "Show Sara" & Dakota Fanning's robotic portrayal of her did not help... and it made it even worse that they gave Sara a bigger role in the show.
  7. I completely agree with you on Dakota Fanning... the way she spoke irritated me & seemed completely unnatural, even for the time period. I could not stand her character throughout the show & this was not the case for me with the source material.
  8. I didn't understand that scene either & I read the book. It definitely seemed out of place regardless of what the writers were trying to show there.
