  1. Calling producer driven tactics on this one.  Anyone noticed that Lauren's lobster tail shell was red when she took it off the table of ingredients.  That means that it was already cooked as uncooked  lobster shells are dark greenish in color and I think that Mada's shrimp were already cooked too judging by the color of their shells.

In what way did Karen ever earn a #2 seed?  Ok, so she made the top 8 before, but never to the final four.  I would put her as a #4 seed at best.

Canned green beans.  Ugh.  No matter what you do, canned green beans may as well be called green bean mush.  Yuck.  I agree with Nancy, you can tempura fry the green beans but they will still be mush inside.  Again, yuck.

Just rewatched this episode for the third time and find it interesting that both Scott and Marcus liked Karen fried items.  Nancy thought they were too elevated.  She must prefer them straight out of the can approach. Not sure what her problem was.

I was so irritated with Nancy Silverton being ... offended?  that Karen did such a good job with the canned green beans, outright saying that she felt like Karen elevated them undeservedly.  Isn't that supposed to be a plus in this competition?  Taking a randomizer ingredient and making it shine?  Nancy, your snobbery is showing!

Not a fan of Nancy.  The can green beans have been used before in this contest and commented on how hard it is to do something worth with them.  Thought that was a stupid comment on her part.

The old Lord & Taylor building on Fifth Avenue (which is landmarked, of course) became become the New York City headquarters of Amazon. Amazon spend years renovating the space but assumed occupancy a while back. It's hard to think of a more emblematic change in retail commerce than that. Forget those gloves.

I miss their Christmas window display.

I'd definitely prefer a season of Capote v. Vidal. But this season was heavily marketed as "watch big-name actresses play the queens of New York high society as the gloves come off, and they go to war!" People love that kind of thing.

It says a lot that Tom Hollander has final billing, rather than first, even though he's so clearly the main character.

Actually knew about all of them with the exception of Slim.

She needs to stop insisting that "home" is living illegally in the US with the rest of her illegal family. Now nearly her entire family is back in the Philippines, so there really is no reason for her to keep calling the US "home."

Before CPS took her son, she should have finally determined that her indefinite life in the US was a failed experiment and gone back to the family and career awaiting her in her real home country. If she really cared about her family that much, she and Luca would have self deported along with Chris to make sure he made the trip safely and the rest of her family had a way to support themselves when she went back to practicing medicine where she is licensed to do so.

As far as circumstances beyond her control, there are none. All her circumstances were created by her foolish and selfish decisions to get what she wanted for herself. It didn't matter to her who she was putting in danger in the process.

Putting the kid to bed while it's still early evening at the most, was beyond me.  Rewatched it again this morning and I would be surprised if it gets renewed after this season.  Think it has run its course.

Actually I didn’t think Remy was that bad. It was Bre and Jordan (pageant queen🙄) who were the WORST. Bre with hand on hips, claiming to be the queen of burgers, only to muck up and get her precocious self booted. Jordan is the one in the preview and trailers who is s giving attitude to Gordon, so she can leave next.

I really like Miles, Bryson, Michael, and Jason. Wow, why is it I’m only liking the boys? There was one girl, whose name we didn’t get (don’t recall) with long auburn hair.

I would cringe if they were my daughters.  Attitude was awful.

Lord & Taylor (still in business) got the last laugh (Bonwit Teller going out in bankruptcy in 2000).

As Janet Malcom wrote in The Journalist And The Murderer - in regard to Joe McGinniss, author of Fatal Vision about the murderer Jeffrey MacDonald:

To be honest, Malcolm nailed way back in 1990 what this series was trying to express (most explicitly through Fake James Baldwin last week).

Agree, I'm just irritated with what seems like an extended SNL characterization of Capote by this point. I was guffawing at the (again, completely fictional) seduction and subsequent relationship with the hunky AC guy (played by Vito Schnabel, son of Julian).

The failure of the series to do any kind of world building for these women - independently, as high society ladies and becoming intimate friends of Capote - is just plain old storytelling malpractice.

Lord & Taylor filed for bankruptcy in 2022 and closed all its stores, even the one on Fifth Ave. in NYC.

Her hair coloring is definitely lighter than it previously was.  Too washed out looking.

I know they never met, but he didn't die before he was born did he?  Joe's got to be at least 20, and this show has only been on 14 years, and I thought Joe died right before the show started.

Eddie should have given her partner a head's up, definitely, no question about it.  But, she did the right thing rushing that rape kit and getting it kicked up the ladder before it got covered up.

I thought when Jamie went to dinner last week, it meant he was done with the undercover. Not in love with that story.

Joe was killed before he even found out that the lady was pregnant with his child.  Rewatch the episode when they first introduce Joe's mom and the Reagan's learn about him.

I am bored too. It was hard to watch because there is so many absurds.

First, we are forced to swallow the ridiculousness of Sharon being back so fast after transplant and not only that, instead of being in the "desk duty" she is in the frontlines. But I guess there is no point complaining because it was forced down our throats.

Now she is a "rebel", because she is mad about something in her life she puts lives in danger by driving like a maniac. One aside about the production/direction though: when she was driving and barely dodging the other cars, at least once the light was yellow, so the other car was the one crossing a red light.

The writers could at least made her childish rebellious thing about her inability to work because of the transplant. They could have written her as still recovering, able to come and go - still a stretch but fine - but not passing the physical and psychological tests to go back to work. See? I am far from a creative writers and I can come up with an old and TV trope that works better than what those writers came up with.

I still don't understand where she was for 6 months but frankly, I don't really care.

The only person I liked was Cara. She is right about the kid and her position on the daddy issue. Freddy 2.0 had no business telling Bode what to do but maybe this will give the character some dimension. TBD.

Then there is the other friend - can't remember the name now - who lies to Bode about the kid and lies to Cara that her lies because he knows more than anyone else what is best for other people's lives? Such an arrogance, I can't.

Gabriela was a diver, that does't automatically makes her a swimmer that can hold her breath for longer than other people. It just makes her someone who spent more time in a pool, or near a pool. And no, there is no place in this planet where a firefighter will risk lives of other firefighters to save one victim, specially when they don't even know if there is a life to save. Vince is a terrible chief. He is nice, that's all.

And the show continues with its trademark of a fire burning right in front of firefighter while they exchange memories, life events, personal matters, or just stand there wondering what happened to that bird they saw three days ago.

The acting gets worse, and it is spreading. It is like an epidemic where the actors level their acting to the worst on scene. There was a long strike, why couldn't some of them take some classes? Gabriela is the worst, then there is Bode, Eve (who still thinks she is in a stage and not in front of a camera). I don't get the top credit for Diane Farr. She is terrible, overacts all the time.

I am "this close" to just giving up on trying to get through an episode.

Too bad that Sharon didn't crash her motorcycle with her on it.

  11. Sharon it a real piece of work.  Speeding through those red lights and endangering other drivers isn't a great look and now Vince is also taking on the tilted Captain's helmet look.

Every time I see Sharon's helmet perched to the side of her head I want to rip it off and place if correctly on her head.

how about they re-test him!?? I'm there is some kind of test to prove Bode right????

And his mom is such a fucking hypocrite.  Automatically thinking he is lying. Not willing to let him explain.

TThen we have the stupid mudslide... ot one but TWO red refrigerator s...And...they couldn't unjam it, but in 10 seconds they were able yo get the whole damn thing picked up out of the sludge/mud. BLECH...

I'm out. STUPID ASS writing. Agree with previous posters on that!!

And please tell Chief Leone that her helmet isn't suppose to be worn slanted to one side.  Not a fashion show.  If you're going to wear the helmet, wear it right.

The Alabama couple: I didn’t like the yard slope in the house they chose. It made me uncomfortable starting at the front with the house being so tall on one side because of the front slope and then the back slope was another angle. It was poorly placed on the lot and I would have never even gotten out of the car if it was one of my options. The other house confused me with the side yard. Who owned the side or was it shared.
They were a bland couple. She seemed flat in personality and he seemed…they were just flat and bland.
I didn’t think her shorts were too short, ha! She looked great and looked very much in the style of southern heat shorts. You can do that in the heat if your thighs don’t meet at the top, ha! I do mid thigh just for that reason. I did what her to fix her over processed limp straggly hair. I hope she finds a salon that will fix it.

I was beyond sick of hearing about her furniture. Then it looked like what she had was RoomsToGo/Ashley Direct stuff and not heirloom good furniture. Gah!

Still think that she is too old for those type of shorts.

Woman buying a house in Saratoga episode had me screaming at TV.  She wanted cozy, and didn't want to clean a big house, so she's looking at 2 houses with around 1,000 sf, and one at 1,300 sf.  She has an 8-year old, and her boyfriend has 2 boys, 8 and 12, although he won't be moving in for a year or so.  She thinks one bathroom is enough.  She liked old features, and I was wondering how long that was going to last after living in one of those small houses.  The boyfriend wanted more space, and I agreed with him.  None of the houses looked great to me, and the house she chose didn't have a dishwasher, but did have a garage which is probably good in that part of New York.  The final scene showed the living room, and her big sofa occupied most of it.  I just can't imagine living in such a small house with 3 growing boys.  I know people do it, and have done it for years, but it's not something I would choose.

I was put off by her overly plucked eyebrows.

I loved her red outfit.      I can't believe their budget is sustainable in the long run with their income.    Maybe the husband gets huge tips?   I hope their choice is easy to resell in case of a job loss, or some other event.    I would be terrified to spend all or most of a settlement on a house that will probably be unaffordable if something goes wrong.

I just replayed this episode with subtitles and it shows that he said he is a linen dropper not a limo driver.  Could be wrong.

Indianapolis to Huntsville, Alabama - oh dear.  Another woman obsessed with where to put the Christmas tree, a 12' tall tree, and not happy with having to give up everything else in her Indianapolis "perfect" house that she loved.  Here's a clue potential HH's who change jobs and have to move - be prepared to live in a different climate, deal with totally different styles of houses than you are used to seeing, and not expect that just because you move to what used to be considered a cheap area it isn't cheap anymore because a lot of other people are moving there too.  Yeah, I got tired of her whining about her must haves - white cabinets, everything new and white, blah, blah, blah.  Her husband seemed much more accepting, and ready to give up a 6,000 sf house for much less floor space.  Naturally they chose the one she wanted, even though it still wasn't up to her standards.

And let's not forget her penchant for wearing short shorts and short skirts.

I liked the aunt who was the realtor in the single mother wants Victorian Atlanta episode.  The HH's wonderful memories of a wood burning fireplace never included buying the wood, bringing it inside, starting the fire and keeping it going with almost constant attention, and then cleaning out the fireplace after every fire.  I bet daddy did all of those things.  I've had both a wood burning only fireplace, and now have one that will burn wood, but has a gas starter, and gas logs.  Yes, you lose some of the wood smoke smell, the crackling fire, etc, but I'll take a gas log fireplace any day now that I'm older.  Her dad and aunt also offered some good advice on a garage for safety as well as protection from the weather.

The Iowa couple  - just here to say I liked Spencer much more than Kyle.  The kitchen in the one they bought is miniscule.  I do hope the one that cooks (Spencer) gets ALL of his desires when they remodel, because he got short changed on his overall wishes for a house.  I did agree with Kyle about the shared driveway.  I probably wouldn't have set foot in that house if I had been the potential buyer because of that feature.  Their dog was adorable.

Thought the Atlanta HH was overly picky and she wants a house for entertaining with a new baby and being a single mom too.  She also needs how to correctly pronounce the word "decor".  Did like her Dad and Aunt.
