  1. Both Sasha and Liz stories need to move on, they are both getting annoying. OK Sasha, just go to jail then.
  2. I recently finished this one and got to start the next book after its initial introduction, so the only book I'll be onto right when it comes out will be book 10. This one was more readable than the last 3. The time travel was intriguing. Buck Mackenzie stays with Geillis in 1739, and from what we know, you can't exist again in your own time line, so he'll have to leave before his brith in 1746 or what will happen to him. And why did he go forward. To my memory, he was the only one who ever went forward who had not been there before. There was not enough about his impressions - indeed DG often loses sight of that interest, being more interested in her story. I recall how the show had Claire opine that it was noisy in the 20th century, compared to her last three years in the 18th. I did like the 80s story and wanted to get back to it, but after the story went back to the revolutionary war, each chapter anew was still back there. A lot of Claire doing surgeries with little point other than how she managed to do them. The reunion at the end was good. Roger and Brianna and family had a place to flee as time travelers.
  3. It doesn't seem like most of them make it anyway. The soap is possible steady work (though no vacations for some :) ). It's possible they'd prefer that to having to look for a new job all the time. I'm starting to root for Finn to tell Liz, fine, you're on your own. Maybe he is not tired of it, but I am!
  4. Show really drags things out. I had forgotten about that totally! That's Stella's secret! Yes, it is strange but others seem to get involved in others' romances, like Olivia/Ned/Leo hugging and cheering because Leo reports CLQ kiss! I had a great aunt by marriage that had absurdly long nails, of the WWII generation, a war bride. My grandmother said, marveling, that she did her housework by putting cotton under them, wrapping them up, and then put on gloves! She has Soap Opera Disease, or Soap Opera Leukemia, where you are just romantically sick, perhaps a bit pale, and can go about doing what you have to do.
  5. I hadn't even thought about that. Show can get things so compartmentalized that it takes a while. They don't make Sam/Leo scenes or enough dialogue, so it is possible to forget this. Willow really should get an abortion and then start over after she is cancer free, but then show maybe should not handle this controversial topic, as the writers aren't good enough. The leukemia is not enough alone? They had to add in pregnancy. They just didn't think it would be dramatic enough without that, I guess. They are addicted to pregnancy in stories. Now they are hinting Portia should have one, though that doesn't have to pan out because it was aimed at Curtis having a child, and he already has one. Though one already raised by someone else isn't the same.
  6. I remember ages ago that it was the 18-49 demographic they covet the most, as they do the most discretionary spending and the older people have confirmed spending habits that won't change. Thus they try to increase the pace and don't pay attention to the history. Trina seems front burner to me. Even Sonny cares. Most PC cops are incompetent - they have to be so Mooby can be the hero.
  7. Yet the police commissioner who brought the charges is Jordan. Soaps have equality, because the writers want to appear not racist, so the black characters are always professionals and interracial relationships occur without any discussion or protest (they don't want other characters to look racist either). Thus they really can't do these kinds of realistic stories. No character said a thing, not even Portia, once she gave her required speech (which they really shouldn't do on soaps, since the story line never takes on such issues). Interesting Sonny just believes this story. But it was certainly the best one when it came to Sonny. Sonny going on about being discharged for committing a crime was hilarious. OK, maybe the issue was loyalty, but it still was funny. I don't like that either. At least it can never change that Taggart acted as her actual father for her entire childhood. She's never going to see anyone else as her real father. Yep. Whatever she does for her family is OK, exactly. Though she'll still be one step better than Carly until she starts yelling at people for doing the same thing she did. I don't see them doing that at all. And they know they have a large black audience. Molly and TJ have been together forever and there are zero objections from any other characters or fans as far as I know. AJ used to be with Keisha, and there was a Shawn/Alexis non romance. Nikolas and Gia a while ago. Taggart and some long ago character that I don't remember. No, but they did. And are still together. If it was even just OK, they'd try it again after making a sweep of the room for cameras. Joss said it was everything a first time should be, so she didn't hate it.
  8. Only Port Charles DAs would even go to trial with the investigation still so unfinished. The very fact that Esme Prince was mentioned so many times as a possible guilty party means they have not completed the investigation. There's another suspect out there, so instead of figuring out which has more evidence against them, they go full bore against one of them. It would clearly be possible for Esme to have dropped the phone in Trina's bag. That did seem lame. They were fighting, but what DNA? No blood was drawn. It is amazing that their Mary Sue of a Carly is in the situation of knowing. Will she be a hero for revealing the information she has - probably so, when normally withholding information is "lying" and many other characters would be raked over the coals.
  9. Teens and sex: it is strange Cam and Joss haven't had sex again, or there is no dialogue to indicate they did. It could be hard when they were filmed the first time, but then that has not been mentioned either. Show makes it look like they did it once and they're done. The trial shenanigans were funny - like they had a deadline of getting the evidence together before the jury came in from deliberations - the deadline would be a lot sooner than that. Seems the trial date was scheduled too quickly. Not a problem in the real world. Then there's the big drama about going to Pentonville, but both cases likely would end up on probation - neither act is serious enough. After hearing Spencer's reasons and knowing the facility was low security, they'd even press that case? He even returned, LOL. Soaps have this stupid mother-privilege that allows a mother to do anything to anyone in the name of her children. ATWT had a case where Carly (played by MW who plays Ava) drugged someone with an excuse regarding her child. Then it was stated by many characters that she could not go to jail for it, because her children needed her! Anyway, Portia is annoying, and so I hope she loses her license, but likely show will coddle her that of course she can risk someone else's death and violate doctor ethics because it's for her child!
  10. I didn't think of the name Bell as anything until yesterday, when I realized there was a Katherine Bell. All I recall is she fell off the parapet? Had an affair with Nicholas?
  11. There's been nothing to indicate that Esme would have done differently to a white rival. How could her actions in this plot be easier on the rival? She's always been about Trina's relationship to Spencer. Writing and or acting would have to give some indication.
  12. Really, when she accused Nina of wanting to take the hotel away from her, it was absurd! The only one who "took the hotel away" from Carly was Carly and only Carly! When she had been advised not to. The shebeast will blame others even for what they could not possibly have done, in a quest to be the victim every time. Trina has just about everyone's support, including all white characters except Esme, who is the one everyone else thinks is guilty. Why would Esme not do the same to any color friend in Trina's position in the pentagon of Trina, Cameron, Spencer, Joss and Esme? Esme is evil no matter who it is.
  13. Really, when she accused Nina of wanting to take the hotel away from her, it was absurd! The only one who "took the hotel away" from Carly was Carly and only Carly! When she had been advised not to. The shebeast will blame others even for what they could not possibly have done, in a quest to be the victim every time.
  14. Yes. Like the show wants the recall to happen so that Laura wins the office legitimately, erasing the cheating win.

And also what's up with his secretary? She has abominable taste in men.

Glad the cat turned up. Martha only testified for the DNC. Civil suit against CREEP. so far as I could see. Or did she testify to the senate committee?
  17. Ok. But another one. Wedding cake smashing. My parents dragged us to many family weddings in the 70s. That was not done. Maybe around the 90s before that became a thing.
  18. At Camp David with a remote for the TV. I was around then. I think that was a mistake. No remotes then. Get up and change the channel.
  19. Yes, the judge pretty much said it was about Scott's handling, not the child's best interests. Nina did not get an order for visitation, but there is no restraining order. But then watch Show and Carly treat it as if there is one. Now they add nepotism to their sins? LOL. I had to laugh when Sam said, "my kids spend a lot of time with their grandmother." They sure do!
  20. I recall an arbitrator saying to the litigants that both lawyers had done a great job. That would allow anyone who didn’t get what they wanted to better accept the verdict. That judge was stupid. Go on about how Scott pissed you off and that only convinces Nina that she didn’t get a fair hearing. And how unprofessional of a judge to let a lawyer’s antics bias them. And tell the litigants that is the basis of the decision. Since Carly knows now and isn’t telling, isn’t she now “lying.” Well, unless there is a double standard. But of course there is. It might be interesting to have grandpa Sonny have time with Wiley where he lets Nina see him.
  21. I’m reading the seventh Outlander book and there is a case of a vein (artery?) in the arm that can spurt dangerous blood loss. Claire saves the guy. Of course.
  22. She herself has not done much wrong, but there's Uncle Rick, Uncle Sonny, Mom and sister Sam. Then again, it's a sort of small town and she has connections. Mom was likely DA at one time, I think I remember that. Dad was DA at another time maybe? Her sister's brother is a cop. Her domestic partner's mother is Police Commissioner now and was before. Jobs like that work on connections in smaller governmental divisions.
  23. When one first gets into Outlander, it is natural to think of Jamie traveling to Claire's time. DG had loud fans who get extremely upset and tell you that DG says that will never happen! Like was are supposed to know what she says in her interviews as part of knowing the books. If she was not so adamant about it, or if she wanted to change that, it would be easy to create some more issues about the stones that would explain why he could not hear them and could crawl all over them and not be taken (as he did in the scene in the first book) but yet could time travel. William being able to would be an interesting way to bring it in. This one was the most draggy and it took me awhile to get to 80%. Reading this board helped me hang on, knowing it was going to be better in the last 3rd. Reading it so little at a time, I missed where Hunter and Dorothea fell in love. I thought she was William's love interest.
  24. We know Esme is guilty, so her innocent act is quite annoying. So show has sneakily made me root for Sonny with that last scene. Ugh.
  25. I remember when they had to write Liz off for actress pregnancies that she went to see her parents in Europe. It was amazing they finally gave Liz's mother a name. But then at some point he cheated and produced Hayden - maybe Liz is mad about that. Then again, she got along with Hayden OK.
