  1. His granddaughter, Princess Victoria Mary of Teck, married Queen Victoria's grandson, Prince George, Duke of York and they later became King George V and Queen Mary, grandparents of Elizabeth II.
  2. Obviously, no one knows until the episode airs, but it sure sounds like it. Or maybe she's being put into some kind of "care home" or something because she's been permanently incapacitated.
  3. Okay, here is a HUGE spoiler for Episode 8. Someone posted it on their TUMBLR page, but the BBC has since removed the spoilery bits from the episode description: Description for Call the Midwife Season 7 Episode 8 I'm not sure if you need to have a Tumblr account to read posts there, so here's the spoiler: Tom and Nurse Crane struggle to move forward with their lives while Sr. Monica Joan celebrates her birthday. Also, the episode description for Episode 7 says that Barbara is in the hospital in isolation and her condition is not improving. ,
  4. She wasn't. Her cousin Prince George of Cambridge (later Duke of Cambridge) was actually a few months older.
  5. I believe Trixie is going to visit her godmother in Portofino. I don't think we know what is going to happen there and probably won't until Trixie gets back.
  6. Actually, Ade had leprosy, not smallpox.
  7. It isn't true. From what I understand, someone addressed him as "Sir Kingsley" and he corrected them and said it was "Sir Ben."
  8. I don't buy that Alexandra suddenly didn't want to see Trixie anymore. I think her mother has been telling the child that it's Trixie who doesn't want to see her.
  9. FWIW, there are new spoilers regarding Trixie and her relationship with Christopher.
  10. That used to play on BBCAmerica frequently back in the day. The actress who plays the Queen Mother on "The Crown" played Victoria.
  11. According to the books, yes, she did marry him.
  12. BBC Media Centre Call The Midwife page It's interviews with the cast about what is going to happen with their characters so obviously somewhat spoilery. There's also a synopsis of the first episode.
  13. She was also Lord Byron's only legitimate child.
  14. He was also in the first four seasons of "Drop Dead Diva."
  15. I recently started watching a British courtroom drama from the 90's called "Kavanaugh QC." Anyway, Cliff Parisi who plays Fred Buckle plays a legal assistant in it. He's much younger, somewhat thinner and with somewhat more hair, but you can tell it's him. Linda Bassett is on at least one episode too.
  16. I thought they might do a surprise pregnancy thing after Gino left, and that part of the past season would be about finding Gino to let him know he had a child, but obviously not. From what I understand, shows in Australia generally don't get renewed until fairly late in the season when all the episodes have already been filmed
  17. No episode 13 so if you have seen episode 12, you're all set.
  18. I'm not sure this is the right place, but Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood (Olivia) and her husband had a baby girl on Christmas Eve.
  19. Regarding Harry, my take on him was that some of Henry and James's city friends took a shine to him and he went off to check out life in the city. David Berry also had a role in "Outlander" which films at around the same time as "A Place To Call Home." This is just speculation on my part but
  20. It's not. I meant to be responding to the idea that Philip was outranked by Charles.
  21. Actually, the Queen announced that Philip would have "place, pre-eminence and precedence" next to her "on all occasions and in all meetings, except where otherwise provided by Act of Parliament" when she acceded to the Throne. Also, Philip was a descendant of Electress Sophia of Hanover, and at the time he married Elizabeth (don't know if it still holds today) any person descending from her was considered a British citizen. She was the mother of George I and was supposed to succeed Queen Anne but died before Anne did.
  22. "A Place to Call Home" has been renewed for a sixth season.
  23. The Duke and Duchess of York (as George VI and Queen Elizabeth were at the time) originally planned to call their younger daughter "Anne Margaret." However, George V did not like the name "Anne" and he did not like double names, so he forbade it. So she was named Margaret with Rose as her middle name. Ironically, as a child, Princess Margaret was known as "Princess Margaret Rose."
  24. I enjoyed it although there are areas for criticism.
