  1. I was interested in this show for Rachel Bilson. She is so watchable and charming that I thought it would be worth a look even with the corny premise. I have been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rest of the cast! So far there are literally no low notes. I really enjoy the coroner who has a crush on Sam and Eddie's assistant, both introduced in the pilot. But now with the cyborg PA (awesome) and Eddie's old partner Zeus (also awesome) the cast is starting to fill out. I absolutely love Lamont Thompson so I was very pleased to see him brought on board. Eddie's not-girlfriend Det. Rollins is a nice addition as a competent professional. It is also a treat to see a show where all of the women are awesome and getting along. I can't even remember the last time that I've seen such a show! So far I think the character interactions are the strongest thing about the show. The cases themselves are not that interesting to me as I am not much into the "detecting" part of the show. But I am enjoying this much more than I expected to. I adore Nathan Fillion so I watched Castle, but I couldn't stand the female lead so I eventually gave it up. I am actually enjoying this show more because of the great casting choices so far.
  2. Tammy got the catering that she so richly deserved! I didn't even know that DIY weddings were a thing until now, not to this extent anyway. But it was worth it to see Bob singing the "I do" song to his burgers!
  3. Gene watching the teachers : "They're not acting that different. Are they always drunk?" That is a sharp observation young man! I was impatient with Tina this episode. On top of everything else she has absolutely no call to be flinging the nerd card at anybody else. Cough *zombie horse erotic friend fiction* Cough. But Mr. Frond busting out his moves out on the street was the thing I didn't know I needed till I saw it! Bob singing "O Harry Boy, the pickles, the pickles are calling." This show is officially it's very own flavour of genius. Mr. Ambrose and Ms. Labonz should get their own spin off. I think they could be an awesome duo!
  4. Poor Carl! His life is just one long raw deal.
  5. They would have been better off to write a solid season that wasn't insulting to the established characters as a strategy to get renewed for season 4. Relying on a cliffhanger to force a network into renewal is a plan about on par with the dreadful writing this season. I can't even blame Fox for this.
  6. Not to mention that he is also hands down the best looking male cast member. The show is not above considering sex appeal when it comes to the decision of who goes and who stays.
  7. The episode actually really started strong. Talbot was pretty awesome with his "let's go kick ET's ass!" mentality. And he bust out the Mustache of Authority on the voices which was nice to have confirmed. However it was disappointing how easily he was manipulated by blueNarcisse. I hate that they wasted whole segments of the season with uselessness and are now rushing where they could have really used some slower character development. 2 episodes is all we have left of the season and maybe the entire series. And I honestly don't know how it could possibly be anything other than a disappointing mess with what we have going on here. The interactions for all the other characters were flat. Mack should have had much stronger words for Fitz and Yoyo (about locking him up, not the whole Ruby mess). And why the hell is Jemma getting a pass on this one? Someone should yell at her for many good reasons. Yoyo should have told Daisy off for thinking she had Ruby under control, which was clearly not happening anywhere other than Daisy's head. Daisy could have had legitimate arguments for the Invincibles about their actions, like going rogue and locking Mack up. But of course we get a continuation of the stupid Ruby was a precious little girl argument. That was just get a mess of out-of-character manufactured angst that made no sense. Hale is finally dead. So that is a positive at least.
  8. I really wish they hadn't gone the human trafficking route with Mallory. She is usually an asshole, but a clever and entertaining one. Trying to force Cheryl into prostitution was just gross. The only saving grace is that I'm pretty sure Cheryl would set a bitch on fire is she pushes the matter. All the other characters are working for me for the most part. Krackers' parrot-based hated of snakes was funny. And I'm liking Pam and Lana. The Pam and Archer partnership is perfect. Ray is a bit boring in this role so far, but it might turn around. And the visuals have been amazing, I absolutely agree with everyone else about that!
  9. I don't like that Hugo made him do it. After an entire episode dedicated to the importance of health inspectors for protecting the public, Hugo turns around and deliberately made Bob eat something he knew would make him sick. So I was on Hugo's side up till that point, but now I hope he gets fired and Ron gets a promotion! I do realise that Bob is a grown man and could have refused to eat the wrap. So he is an idiot too. But I'm holding Hugo to a higher professional standard because this is his job.
  10. My personal pick has always been Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica fame. She has personality to spare and could do a competent/complex detective in her sleep. And she tends to have chemistry with everyone and everything so I think she would have been great opposite Tom Ellis who has the same vibe. And I loved Nicole Beharie in Sleepy Hollow! She has a great grasp of comedic timing and would have been great on this show. I have to disagree with other posters upthread. I think Lauren German simply does not have the chops to improve the material. Which is making her stick out because the rest of the cast including Trixie, is rising above. But it might not matter much longer because I have never seen a good show die so fast! I am having trouble understanding how it went from wonderfully enjoyable to a steaming pile with the same writers and cast on board. But I am real close to not bothering with this anymore.
  11. Yep! I feel like Pesto finally getting his right in front of Bob was a gift to us all. Sometimes Karma is a literal whack in the balls. And that "on your left ma'am is just salt in the wound. Best ending ever! Za-oom!
  12. That wasn't an emotional point it was a legal one. There have been a lot of comments lately about the official standing of SHIELD. What Daisy is doing is wildly illegal from a medical consent standpoint, not even including the grave robbing. Another instance of unsanctioned actions by an unsanctioned force.
  13. Also completely ignoring that Coulson specifically and repeated states that he does not want to take measures to prolong his life. It is his decision and nobody is respecting it. Not to mention that desecrating your mom's grave, no matter how good you think your reason, is totally a dick move. I'm pretty sure Jiaying would not consent to any of this considering she hated Coulson and SHIELD.
  14. Killing off Talbot would be a horrible waste of the character. But at least if that is the endgame they are letting him go out in full rockstar style. You can really go bigger than the destroyer of worlds. And to hand it to the writers I did not see that coming at all! It could actually be pretty funny if Hall and Quinn try to gang up on him mentally, and then get shouted down by the Mustache of Authority. Can I assume that the "stuff going on in New York" that Mack's friend mentions to Daisy is referrencing the movie? If it is supposed to be a SHIELD reference it went over my head.
  15. This was a great episode, it was fun all the way through! I like how in Tina's daydreams she still includes Tammy, even though Tammy continues to be the worst in a relentlessly hilarious way. Louise's hatchet-love was awesome. And I 1000% agree that in any sane world hatchet throwing should replace golf immediately. "does a hermit scat in the woods?" is still making me laugh! So she was on fire this episode. Bob and Linda are the perfect couple. Even when they do stupid stuff they go all in and commit to it. If I ever tried being a hermit I would absolutely start scavenging towel warmers and wifi after 12 hours in the woods. So Martha is my spirit animal.
