  1. I adore Aesha but I do put the blame fully on her for serving alcoholic drinks before scuba diving. She should know the no-drinking rule very well considering she is certified to scuba dive also. She mentioned her certification to Captain Jason in the very first episode of Season One and she went diving with guests later that season. This season, she was one of the crew who dove when they got the day off to help save the coral reefs.
  2. I agree that this seems like it could be a producer move. But since I like Glenn so much, I'd like to offer another possibility: Maybe when those first charter guests criticized the service, it really freaked Glenn out. Daisy has always done such good job that he is not used to hearing critiques about the stewardesses from guests. What we're seeing now may be his excessive response to those comments. Not a good move on his part, but I'd rather it be an honest overreaction than to think Glenn is now controlled by the producers.
  3. I think Bravo is taking a big gamble and it may bite them in the ass. They've saturated the network with BD shows, hoping all the fans love it so much that they can't get enough. But, based on these forums, it's just making many of us apathetic toward the entire franchise. Part of the fun of watching a show is anticipating the start of a new season. Bravo has dulled that experience. Plus, the repetitive storylines are extremely obvious when they're happening on two BD shows at the exact same time.
  4. Once Dave realized he wasn't making what the charter guest wanted, why didn't he just look online for an American pancake recipe? So simple!
  5. I also believe that what Reid said to Courtney was truly awful. I know he's awkward and may not have meant it. But think of it from Courtney's point of view. He basically told her: -she is seriously narcissistic -this is defined as a loving yourself so much that it kills you -it also means you love not just your interior, but your exterior too -it means you're vain -even if you don't think you love your exterior, you sure do love your posterior (heh, heh) I know I would be absolutely crushed if someone threw all those insults at me. For someone like Courtney who has self-esteem and body issues, these comments would be even more of a trigger. Embarrassment, shame, and confusion are all appropriate emotions. Yes, Reid apologized and I give him credit for that. But an apology doesn't take away the inner turmoil that Courtney must have been feeling.
  6. Did anyone else see Sasha in the background when Alfonso was talking to Emma and Trevor? Right before they cut back to Tyra, he started taking off his shirt and stepping forward towards them. I love Sasha, but that was just so awkward. I’m glad it got cut off!
  7. For those of you who have a streaming device but don't have Disney+: My mom is older too and DWTS is her favorite show. What I did was share my subscription with her. Disney+ can stream on four devices at the same time and they can be in different locations. So you may want to see if any close family members or friends already have Disney+ and would be willing to share their username and password with you.* They can create a profile for you to click on when you log in. *Disclaimer: I know that, in general, sharing passwords is inadvisable. But for something like this, I personally think it’s fine. I love making my mom happy!
  8. When I recall all the times we've seen bosuns have a talk with a problematic deck hand, I actually think that Storm did a damn good job! He acknowledged the tension between the deck crew and Jason and gave Jason time to share his thoughts first. He listened and then calmly told Jason he disagreed. Then he explained the problems he had with Jason and challenged him to work on them during the next charter. The fact that Jason totally escalated things and insisted Storm replace him is all on Jason and his personal issues. I think Storm could be a really good bosun one day. He is definitely making mistakes now, but he wants to learn from them and do better. That's more than we can say for many of the other bosuns from the BD universe. (Hopefully, he also learns from his mistakes with Natalya and improves his romantic game in the future too!)
  9. I thought it was weird that the show kept putting up the usual text message icon, but then it only showed that Tash received messages from her boyfriend. In the past, we've always seen exactly what the messages said. Maybe it was a technical glitch and they couldn't get the content of those messages? Or was it producer shenanigans to create more drama?
  10. I watched that episode too and it cemented my negative opinion of Natasha. She craves drama and attention, but also want everyone to think she's this perfect person who never does anything wrong. During WWHL, she had a fake smile on her face the entire time. She kept saying over and over what a forgiving person she is and how she doesn't hold grudges. But whenever Andy asked about her own questionable behavior on the show, she deflected by turning it around and shading Dave instead.
  11. I think it depends with the parties. For most charter groups, the producers probably give the guests possible party options. Then they just pick which sound best to them. Some really get into the theme and some are just meh about it. I do believe that some guests request the parties on their own. We've seen some come aboard with decorations, accessories, and outfits for themselves and the crew. Maybe it's because they've seen them on iterations of BD in the past and liked the idea. Or maybe they have theme parties all the time at home!
  12. I think Sandy is trying to appear more reasonable this season because she wants to improve her public image. She knows everyone hates her micromanaging and how she berates the crew. I actually love how incompetent Raygan is because I know it must be torturing Sandy to not flip out on her!
  13. When they first showed the beach, it did look so crowded that they wouldn't even be able to set up. But once they did, I thought it was lovely. I think it comes down to the couple's expectations. They didn't request a lavish wedding on a private beach. They just wanted a short and sweet ceremony on the beach while enjoying their vacation on a sailing yacht. I think that's exactly what Captain Glenn and the crew delivered.
  14. Gra Daisy and Gary have that love-hate relationship where you're never sure if they are going to scream at each other or start making out. I was so frustrated with the argument about the tender ride. Daisy went after Gary because she said bringing a stew wasn't necessary. But from watching all the versions of BD, having a stew serve drinks on tender rides seems to be pretty standard. What Daisy should have been angry about was Gary's completely self-serving decision to go to Scarlett himself and tell her that she was coming on the tender ride. If he wanted a stew to come with him, the professional thing to do would have been to go to Daisy, the chief stew, and ask her to select one of the stews to accompany him. Daisy missed her opportunity to be completely in the right in this situation!
  15. If Ryan were smart, he'd cry to Captain Jason about the loss of his father. Then Jason would give him 10,000 more chances to do better like he has with Benny.
  16. I'm totally with you! I still feel sick when I think of Kasey from BD Med season 3. At least three episodes were punctuated with constant scenes of her throwing up while she was seasick.
  17. I know Captain Lee would never say something like the word that Heather did, but I don’t think he’s very in touch with what is and isn’t appropriate these days. Just this episode, he called over the radio for the crew to get their “hot asses” to the crew mess for the tip meeting. Eddie joked back to him over the radio and it was just a funny little scene to watch. But any one of the crew could have found that comment offensive and spoke up about it. If they had, the ramifications could have blown up from there. I’m not saying the crew should have been offended by an off-hand comment like that. It’s just that, with our culture the way it is now, I wouldn’t be shocked if it were to happen. I think it’s only a matter of time before Captain Lee says something that goes too far and gets himself in hot water with the Below Deck fandom and reality community.
  18. Heather freaked out about guests making their own drinks when Jess was on service. But apparently she has no problem blowing up a balloon while not one, but two guests try to speak to her. It was fine when the woman first walked in on her blowing up the balloon, but to not put it away at that point seems very disrespectful to the guests.
  19. I'm so tired of Captain Lee's threats to fire one of the deck crew. He keeps saying they have no more chances. And then they mess up again and he gives them the exact same speech again. Also, he always gives the speech to all of them at once. If he finally decides to fire someone, is he going to choose who by playing eeny meeny miny moe? All three of them have made group and individual mistakes. Honestly, the person who is least competent at his job right now is Eddie. But even if Captain Lee gives Eddie a warning, we know he's never actually going to fire him.
  20. I'm so confused about Eddie's new position. If he is supposed to be in the wheel house learning, then why isn't there a fourth person on the deck crew to take his place? The only time BD has operated with three people on deck was when someone was sick. I'm not saying Jake, Rayna and Wes don't have their faults, but normally they would have another full-time deck crew member along side them washing windows, cleaning the teak, covering pillows, prepping the fenders, etc. Eddie having one foot on deck and the other in the wheelhouse is not setting up the rest of the deck crew for success.
  21. Agreed! I had high hopes for Heather but this isn't a good start. Kate is proving tough to replace. She had her flaws but, even when managing green, ill, lazy and crazy stews, the guest experience was rarely affected.
  22. I think Nate may have gone to Trent because he knew that Ted and Trent had developed a level of respect for each other. Nate may have thought of it as sticking the knife in a little further, even more of a betrayal because it came from Trent. Of course, he had no idea that Trent would be such a stand-up guy in the end.
  23. It was a refreshing season. There was such a different dynamic among the crew (minus Lexi, of course). I find it pretty adorable that every crew member wanted to go to Split together after the season. I'm fine with romances in future seasons. However, what I never want to see again is verbal, physical and sexual abuse/assault being swept under the table like it was for most of this season and previous seasons. If the producers want to give us drama that we really want to see, then they should break the fourth wall in these situations and let us see people like Lexi being fired from the show immediately.
  24. I think the Sandy confrontation could definitely be about David. I found it very strange that Malia didn't show more concern about David's leg or his fall in general. When he was first asked if he was ok after he fell, he said no. If I were his bosun, I would have immediately wanted to assess him. But she didn't check him out at all. When she saw his leg the next day, she did ask if he was ok and he said that he was. I guess you could say she did her due diligence at that point. Although, it might have crossed her mind that it's pretty common for deck crew to try to tough out an injury rather than admit they're hurt. I think where Malia really faltered was when Mzi asked if a doctor was coming and David replied, "I don't know." Malia's response was, "What? A doctor for a bruise?" as if it were a ridiculous question. To me, Mzi's question would be a big warning bell. Considering how close they are, it makes sense that David would confess to Mzi that he was in more pain than he let on to Malia. She clearly didn't pick up on this at all. For all of Sandy's faults, I think if she was told about David's fall, saw his leg, or if she heard anyone asking about a doctor, she would pursue it immediately. Even if David isn't seriously injured, I can see Sandy being very angry with Malia for her lack of concern.
  25. I feel really bad for Courtney, Mzi, Lloyd and David. They are all loyal, considerate and hard-working. And now what are they getting for it? Less tip and a giant cabin switch. Katie better keep Courtney on service for the next two charters. It's the least she can do for all Courtney's efforts. I purposely didn't mention feeling bad for Malia and Mat. Karma, bitches!
