  1. Well, I’ve been trying to watch this episode since yesterday afternoon, but these two are so annoying I can only manage to watch for about 5 minutes at a time. It will take me all week to get through it!!! Not much of anything to root for with these two idiots.
  2. My immediate reaction to that scene was that it had been staged for drama. I just can’t believe any mother would tell her adult 600+ pound sons that they needed to keep eating mountains of food. Most of the other family sabotage we’ve seen on the show has been sneaky and very passive aggressive. Having said that, their mom sure won’t win any mother-of-the-year awards and I doubt she would go out of her way to help them lose.
  3. It’s so rare to see someone who truly has no one at all in their life. Even most of us with no family have the ability to seek help from neighbors, friends, non-profit organizations, government agencies. Sean didn’t even have the mental capability to do that.
  4. Totally agree. By the end of the show, I was getting frustrated with Dr. Now (and I LOVE Dr. Now!). But Sean had made it abundantly clear - both in words and actions - that he COULD NOT do what was expected using the techniques already provided. He had significant mental issues and needed more than just lectures, scolding, and a few Dr. Paradise visits.
  5. I’ve been reading Chad’s book and am really enjoying it! I’m just now up to the point where he contacts TLC for the show so I’m anxious to see where it goes from here. But it’s a fast, easy read that paints a good picture of his mindset during those early years when he kept gaining. Kudos to the writer who worked with him to get his thoughts into a readable format. Excellent job!
  6. I agree, she seemed so sad. But I also suspect that final appointment with Dr. Now was just for the cameras. Maybe she was just totally annoyed at having to go up there for basically nothing. She has done a great job. Wishing her lots of continued success!
  7. As a Texas resident, I sincerely hope you are right about them never coming back. Don’t need them here. Don’t want them here. Assanti family, just stay away!
  8. I assumed TLC simply hired him for the storyline.
  9. My 90-yr old mom moved into a senior living facility a few years ago. It’s sort of a mixture of independent senior apartments and assisted living all mixed together. Nice outdoor areas with walking paths and sitting areas for the residents. Anyway, their #1 rule for all residents was NO SCOOTERS ALLOWED. No exceptions. None. I can see why they had that rule now!
  10. Allen’s voice sounds exactly like a beautiful Cajun accent to me. Hoping he isn’t sensitive about his voice, but if he is, they should move to Louisiana. Everyone would assume he was born and raised there!
  11. My latest pet peeve phrase is “I’m just stating my truth”. Actually, he/she is usually just being a jerk whose “truth” may or may not have any relation to reality.
  12. And didn’t she say at one point “if I die, it will be all Dr. Now’s fault” ??? Now, doesn’t that sound like a 5 year old? “I’m going to run away - that’ll show them!!!”
  13. I will never understand the family dynamics of some of these people. Angie ordering people around, laying on undeserved guilt, playing the victim. I’m from a fairly large family with lots of extended aunts, uncles and cousins. And I guarantee if ANYBODY in the family acted like that, they would find themselves out on the street. Absolutely nobody would put up with that behavior - and rightfully so! And I’m from the most supportive family in the world. When anyone needs help, it’s given with no strings attached, but by golly, they are always totally appreciative and grateful.
  14. I remember seeing a TV interview with her decades ago where she talked about her fake smile. She actually demonstrated her real smile and then compared it to her movie star smile. Gotta admit, she’s got a sense of humor about the whole Hollywood machine! 😂
  15. Even better - try balsamic vinegar instead. OMG best brussel sprouts ever!
  16. Is it just me or has this program simply evolved into nothingness? I guess once they sign up these people, they have to figure out a way to get 2 hours of tv time from them. Even if there is absolutely nothing to show, TLC is committed to put something out. There have been a few success stories this year, but for the most part, it has simply been a lot of endless babble. Maybe they are running out of viable candidates. Shoot, I’d be happy if they changed it to My 500 Pound Life (or 400) if it meant we were actually going to see someone’s journey towards turning their life around. I used to look forward to Wednesday night, but no more.
  17. I simply don’t believe that a medical condition as serious as MS would have not been mentioned during the first appointment with Dr. Now. My gosh, he will list all their ailments - ranging from congestive heart failure to bad feet - if he thinks it will make them face reality. If he knew she had MS, he would have read her the riot act even more than he actually did. Unless maybe she specifically said it was not to be disclosed on tv???
  18. I cannot believe that TLC actually put this nonsense on the air. Two hours of absolutely nothing. Nothing. Biggest waste of tv time since Geraldo opened Al Capone’s vault!
  19. I guarantee you this - if I lost 120 pounds, I would want to be weighed in Dr. Now’s office, the town square and any other scale where a lot of people would see it! Give me that positive feedback! She knows she hasn’t lost much.
  20. Totally agree. I’m definitely over this tv show. I never expected Hoarders to become just excruciating, mind-numbing boredom. Removed it from my DVR.
  21. Can’t figure out how all these people with dry heels have apparently never heard of a foot peel. I do a peel every couple of months and it is awesome! Keeps all that dead skin away!
  22. But this is something I’ve noticed about so many people today. And, NO, I’m not talking politics here. Just ordinary people who choose to blatantly lie about the simplest of things and then get furious if someone calls them on it. I will never understand how they think everyone is supposed to believe everything they say, even if it is obviously a complete lie. 🤔
  23. Uh oh Dad hasn’t been picking up the phone....
