  1. When I tuned in to today's episode Katie Lee was putting cinnamon sticks on a candle for an awesome (Pinterest) display. I liked Sunny's trivet craft better. But a bit later when they were talking about saving money and Katie Lee said "store circulars", Geoffrey didn't know what the H she was talking about. I thought, why should he, he's probably never needed to shop on a budget, worry about costs. The look on his face was puzzled, and Sunny called him out, kept calling him out, she returned his look in spades. Come on, Sunny, the guy's a famous chef. Why would he need to know about "circulars", or know that that's what some people call supermarket sales papers (which is what we grew up calling them).
  2. It would suck for Dean, but if they just killed her off over there I'd be happy. I loved loved loved that kitchen scene when Dean was inside her head and told her "I hate you, and I love you." She NEEDED to hear the first part. I'm thankful beyond measure they didn't try to build the new series around her as a strong female hunter. Urk.
  3. I re-watched today, trying to give it a fairer shake than the first time, when I was supremely annoyed by the set up of Claire as the heroin. I liked it better, but if it's going to be a must-watch for me it needs...tweaking. (Also watched You've Got Mail and CANNOT hear or read that work except in Tom Hanks' voice :) ) Anyway, in an attempt to give annoying Claire a break, I reminded myself that before Jimmy gave himself over to Cass, she was an only child. Probably at least a bit spoiled, and certainly grew a gigantic chip on her shoulder. Maybe with Kaia's death she'll soften a bit. The only way this show will succeed, IMO, is for her to NOT be the "lead", but to make the focus on, if not Jody and Donna, then at the very least a Jody-and-Donna-led ensemble. Because softening or not, a little Claire goes a long way. What still irks me on re-watch though, is the lack of backstory for Kaia. We know almost nothing about her, and what we do know is heartbreaking. I'd like to know more, show, you need to fix this. Patience said "Maybe my dad will take me back", so he did, in fact, tell her not to come back. Dick. I love love love Alex for being staunchly in Jody's corner no matter what. No chip on her shoulder, thank goodness. As a 'partner' to Supernatural, I'll probably, but when Supernatural goes, I'll go with it. My only interest in the stories has been because of the Sam/Dean relationship, toxic or not, it's why I watch.
  4. Ditto, Catrox. I was yelling "WTF SHOW?" when Kaia got stabbed, or lanced or whatever it was. Somebody said it earlier that this season is all over the place with too many storylines going to keep things straight. I get dizzy thinking about where Cass is, and Lucifer; is Michael going to take down Asmodeaus, now they killed of the dreamwalker, how will Sam and Dean get to mom now? (they could just leave her there, wouldn't break my heart.) And Jack, an interesting character with some potential, is stranded with Mary. Too much, show, too much. Also, I see zero chemistry between the girls. I get that Patience has never hunted, Alex is trying to stay out of it, and Claire is all bad ass, fearless girl. But the interactions seem stunted, forced. Jody and Donna were the only good things about this episode, IMO.
  5. My son told me it was based on a graphic novel, which I don't particularly like but what the heck. Snow day, stuck inside, try something new. I have to say I was drawn in immediately and except for brief breaks to stretch I binged the whole series this morning. The characters evolved into truly likable people in the end, and of course I was rooting for the "us against the world" scenario. If it comes back for another season, I'll watch, if not, I'll use my imagination to stay in touch with Alyssa and James. At the very least, I'm convinced to give graphic novels another look.
  6. This Thanksgiving the hubs thought it would be cute to semi-shout "Get me some pie!". I had to convince him, nicely, that it's a Dean, and Dean Only line. Sorry, babe.
  7. I don't know the actress' name but Kevin's mom, Ms. Tran, would be a great addition to the Wayward spinoff. I also agree to the 1000th degree about music. Last season I found I was missing the classic rock, now it's just gone. Sad. Waiting to see where this alternative universe thing takes us, but so far I'm not excited.
  8. It feels more and more like a winding down, end of the saga, what with the boys speculating on whether they'll be remembered. I don't like it. Also, the bastard took Dean's picture. Bad move, Ketch.
  9. I can't help but wonder what the boy's reaction might be if they find out mommie dearest has been in bed with the BMOL in more ways than one. Dean, especially, since he's seen the psycho in action and has the clearest memories of his mom and dad when he was little. Bad move, Mary. I don't buy that she's doing all this 'hunting' for the reasons she says, either. I think psycho or not, Ketch has her number and his assessment of her is pretty spot on. She wants to be loving family-first-loving-mom, but in reality, she's a hunter at heart. Without her little boys and John, she'd just as soon hunt as be a mom to two grown men. I just wish she'd be honest with them and herself and stop the subterfuge.
  10. I agree with Rue about Sam being low-key this season. Actually both the guys seem to be. For me, I guess I prefer to think of them as being tired. They've chased Amara, then Lucifer, and now his baby mama, all the while thinking 'oh no, this really IS bad this time', like as Crowley said "end of all things" bad. Or maybe after all they've seen and done, they're more than a bit jaded. Sam is ever hopeful of a different kind of life, and is willing to put up with Mick's shenanigans for a chance to see that happen. Dean has evolved in so many ways, Jensen has done an amazing job keeping the spirit of Dean alive while allowing him to, I don't know, mellow a bit. Forgiving Mary, agreeing to work with the Brits, telling Mick that he used to see all monsters as something to be killed but now he says things are not just black and white, those are huge for the Dean. He didn't hesitate to kill Sam's friend Amy (Season 7).
  11. Hey all, I just drifted over here after the IMDB boards closed, looking for obsessed fans like me. I've been reading awhile, but only signed up today when I realized what I'm missing this season: music. Where is the classic rock that has helped make this show so special for 12 seasons? I didn't care for the music in this episode at all, or the previous 3 episodes for that matter. Is it just me, am I missing something? Besides Cas? :)
