  1. Jamal has always made the worst decision when it came to dating since after Michael. It has been one worthless, failed relationship after another. Proposing to Kai is just another bad choice he made. Doesn't make Kai any better than the other bad choices he made. Michael remains the solid love he had who loved him when he had nothing and never made any demands from him. He was a good support system for Jamal which was critical at that point in his life. Kai will never, ever come close to that. Andre's problems stem from a very young age all caused by Lucious. Lucious is purely responsible for Andre's problems except for this cancer. It's OK for Andre to decide the best treatment for himself. Afterall he is a grown man now. Nothing wrong with that. Expressing your wish is not barking, it's just wanting to be left alone to make his own decisions and I agree with him on that. It's his life.
  2. Kai is whiny, insecure, childish and lacks substance. He met Jamal when Jamal was already highly successful and fully accepted and respected by his father, yet all he does is complain about Jamal's family, whines and throws diva tantrums. He's a mess. Michael was with Jamal when Jamal had nothing, was a nobody, hated and despised by his father because of his sexuality. Yet Michael stood by him through all the terrible ordeal. That is someone with substance and who truly loved Jamal. Too bad the writers had to cast out Michael the way they did. In real life, Michael represents someone who is truly there for love and who cares. He stood by Jamal when he was nothing. I don't know what you mean. Andre had his diagnosis and chose his girlfriend for support. They were managing just fine until Cookie barged in and wanted to take control. All Andre did was to tell her he was OK with his current treatment. I don't see how he felt his family owed him anything. On the contrary, he wanted them to continue with their tour which was more important, and leave him be. If it was not for his girlfriend, they would never even have been told that he was sick.
  3. Another good episode though not quite as entertaining or engaging as the previous. It's tough to see Andre going through his illness. It was hard watching him go through tough times like his bipolar episodes, when his baby was killed, when is wife died and the way Lucious had treated him with disdain for inheriting his mother's illness. I will repeat that it's all too much for one character. In as much as Cookis has a right to seek the best treatment for her son, she was wrong to think she can just barge in and dictate Andre's treatment plan. He is a grown man and there was a good reason he went to his girlfriend for support and not his mother. I don't know why there's all the hate for Treasure. I am so proud Cookie forgave her and decided to give her another chance. It shows that Cookie has really come to understand life and could sympathize with what young, vulnerable girls like Treasure have gone through which alters their way of perceiving certain aspects of life. Kudos to Cookie for that. I could care less about Kai. He should just disappear as far as I'm concerned. The best pairing with Jamal was and always will be Michael, IMO. I'm glad Cookie did not confess to Lucious. I hope Cross keeps his promise because I don't trust him. He could use that as leverage at some point. I don't know what to make of Kingsley and yes I want to know what became of his encounter with Mrs. Dubois.
  4. This episode totally blew me away. I was impressed with the directorial debut of Gabourey. Empire needs more of her directing, to pull the viewers back in. This was terrific. The Thirsty storyline is becoming more bizarre by the episode. So what is he going to do? Give up Lucious or Cross? I do find his storyline fascinating though with his involvement with Cross and all what went on. Boy! Cross is vicious. The tour was an absolute blast and I just love, love, love the Instagram star "Hey beautiful." That was ingenious. The onstage performance was awesome but who was messing with the lights? Treasure falling off stage and getting her wig pulled off was hilarious. The lady who sang with Jamal was exceptionally good. Maya seemed out of place though. I wish they could give her a ballet number to perform. What Treasure did with Lucious was terrible. It seems that's what she did with her previous boss but Lucious was very unfortunate this time because this time, he was truly innocent but caught in a precarious position. Why did Cookie have to jump into bed with Cross right away? She must have had a thing for him because that was not her only choice. She could have just gone right to her room and waited for Lucious there. That was cheap. Damon Cross though is growing on me. He is suave, dashing and dangerous, a perfect nemesis for Lucious. The pairing in the hotel actually was unexpected. I never expected Tiana or Maya to end up with who they ended up with. I could care less about silly Kia returning to Jamal. Why couldn't he just stay in London? I just can't stand that guy. Poor Andre never catches a break. From his psychotic illness, to being abused by his father, to losing his wife and baby and now to terminal cancer. How can the writers burden one character with all these problems? Terrible. At this point, all that is left is just to kill him off which would be terribly tragic!! I was not surprised when the real dark side of Lucious surfaced again. When he showed up in that dark alley, I knew Lucious the devil had surfaced. That was vicious!!! Overall, one of the best episodes this entire season. 9/10
  5. The entire justice system in this country has been extremely cruel to black people. Not trying to clear JS of his wrongdoing if it is true but thousands of rich white kids get exonerated daily for crimes which their black counterparts are thrown in jail for years on end. I guess the chickens have come home to roost in this country. The lines of justice have been blurred. The scale had been tipped in favor of one side for too many years. It doesn't surprise me when the disadvantaged are happy that for once, the scale has been tipped in the favor. Just my own honest opinion.
  6. The writers are turning Andre into a bonfide nutcase (not that he doesn't already have mental issues). It looks more or less they are trying to kill him off. Sad that all this was written before the JS disastrous scandal. So if they choose to kill him off and now have to write Jamal off who are they going to be left with, Hakeem? That'll be some drama to watch🤣🤣🤣 Cookie and Lucious hold this show together exceedingly well. The scene wilh Lucious and his mother was heartbreaking. The mother is truly nuts. Poor Lucious never had a chance. Tiana and her rival almost exchanging blows on the red carpet was alarming. Becky does her job well. I liked her outfit on the red carpet. Porsha is growing into her role well and she may prove to be a lot tougher to boss around than Cookie thinks. The more she realizes that she's not getting what she deserves the more she may become tough for Cookie to handle=just my thoughts. Jamal is doing what he does well but I'm still struggling to actually view him without thinking about the atrocious hoax he pulled. Why JS why? Good episode.
  7. Episode was quite good thanks to Taraji and Terrence. Cookie once more trying to save the company from Lucious's mess-ups. SMH. I hope she takes down Kingsley whom Isuspect is not his son. He has some serious daddy issues but you don't solve that by destroying his legacy. The guy is terribly troubled. There has to be more to explain all that pent up anger against Lucious. I was glad Candace made up with cookie. It was unforgivable when she revealed Cookie' s secret property to Lucious. It was nice to see all the sisters bonding again. Andre seems to still be trying hard to win his father's favor. I hope this new girl will help pull him together. So glad childish Kai is gone. Jamal stood his ground as a Lyon. Good for him. Another messed up relationship. I hope he joins Kai in London and be gone. It was quite difficult watching Jamal without thinking about JS lying on GMA about his hoax. I just couldn't get it off my mind. Great career derailed by greed and selfishness. So sad. Overall a very good episode with some interesting storylines in play. So much to look forward to including Jamal's exit.
  8. That's not true but anyway with the huge disgrace and horrible national scandal JS has brought this show, I bet Lee Daniels would have preferred Andre as the main center character of the 3 brothers anyday, anytime. This mess will get dragged in court and who knows if he gets a sentence. Well, that would be bad, really, really bad.
  9. They should have given Andre (Trai) the most powerful storylines and scenes of the 3 brothers because he is a much better actor and deserved it. But no, no, no, for quite a long time it was all about Jamal even after he kicked his own mother out of the house in S2 and this is the thanks they get. Trai would never have let them down this way. Oh! well, I guess hindsight is 20/20.
  10. Queen Latifah has a right to her opinion but I think the damage is done. She can never reverse that damage because she chooses to stand by him. Majority believes JS lied and created a fake assault and went on a major TV interview (GMA) and double downed on it.
  11. Oh! Please. With an opportunity now for center stage and meatier scripts, Andre and Hakeem can handle Empire just fine. Jamal doesn't need to be killed off, he just needs to be written off to go back to London with that his childish and whiny boyfriend Kai. Jamal was extremely good in S1 because of his storyline and his extreme bond with his mother. Since S2 that bond had been irreparably damaged when he kicked his own mother out of the house and his storyline has wavered since then jumping from one useless boyfriend to another with less emphasis on creating great music as he did in S1. Now is the time to give Andre ( who is the strongest actor of the 3 brothers BTW) a chance to take center stage. Along with Hakeem and Lucious's new son, and the rest of the cast, Empire can still carry on stronger than ever if well written. I will not miss Jamal at all if he is written off. Just my opinion.
  12. The desperate suspect here is JS. The 2 brothers are just pawns in his sick and selfish game to get paid more money by his employer. Looking at it critically, JS is the one trying move the target off his back. He's tried everything including his costar's baby, but the performance he gave on GMA sealed people's impression of him as a 1st grade liar. He made his bed and he will lie in it.
  13. So true. Instead of advising him to confess and apologize, they unleash a barrage of explanations, excuses and psychological analysis. People know he lied and then double downed on it on a major TV show. It is an exercise in futility because people can see it for what it is= mental jujitsu. I just feel bad for all the people he has disgraced. Terrible.
  14. Tbh this will be a week defense for Smollett. The brothers follow him across social media and consistently use his music in social posts. https://www.pride.com/news/2019/2/19/brothers-jussie-smollett-case-were-instagram-friends-actor … It's already on Facebook now🤣🤣🤣🤣 No damage control will change my current perception of him: A BONAFIDE LIAR. The image of him lying on GMA will always remain with me. The question that still bugs me is why JS why? He had the meatiest role of all the brothers on Empire with everything going for him but selfishness got the better of him. He didn't spoil things for himself alone but he had to disgrace his show and cast mates What a nightmare!!
