  1. Yep, she was Roseanne’s stuck-up neighbor from Chicago. I liked her best in “Malcolm in the Middle” when she was Gretchen, whose husband owned the dude ranch where Francis was manager.
  2. RI to Savannah: Hated her. Someone who couldn’t see beyond the colors of the walls. I thought the real estate agent was the redhead from Paris at first. They had a corgi, though, so some points in their favor.
  3. Hawaii: Naval husband and Mexican wife with infant. I don’t know much about the military, but being stationed on a ship or sub in the Middle East isn’t like being an infantryman on the ground, I’m guessing. Still, I respect the pressure it must’ve been on their family with him being away from home. I’m surprised there aren’t the same inventory of homes that pass from service member to service member as their assignments change. He gets stationed in Hawaii and someone else gets transferred out? (I read an article about a car in Europe that just kept selling from one person to another within the military family.) How long can they guarantee they’ll be stationed in HI, and will they be there long enough to justify the money spent on bank and realtor fees? Finally, there is no way I’d pick a home with a 2+ hour daily commute for my partner. What’s better for their family — a larger kitchen or Dad being home and less tired 5+ hours a week. Did they move to Hawaii so she could be a single mom 95% of the time? I liked the couple well enough, but I think they focused more on their furniture than what was best for their family.
  4. I didn’t want to miss Ghosts so watched this. I wish Mary had laid the blame on Pastor Jeff directly. Is he a leader or not? She blamed God and not Jeff? Screw that. Who’s fallible, Mary? God or Jeff? And Mandy saying Georgie was a “good guy”? No. He’s not even a guy, and he’s not good. He’s a lying high school dropout, and MeeMaw helped him perpetuate a fraud against her. She’s taking responsibility for herself and for him. Screw that. And MeeMaw? Was that supposed to be a joke or did she literally offer to prostitute herself for $2500? And then Dale negotiated. Which he should. Because that’s what you do when someone is offering you “services.”
  5. Awww, I was so happy for Jay and Pete when they thought Jay could see him. And Pete using his travel agent experience to help Sam and Jay when they’d so often told him his life’s work was passé. Issac and Nigel are cute as ever! I really hope Jay can find some sort of awareness of the ghosts, or perhaps Jay and the ones who can communicate with the living can work out their own shorthand? Glad it’s back, though I hate that it’s between “Young Sheldon” which I can’t tolerate any more and the show being produced by the same people from “Bull” who tolerated Michael Weatherly’s behavior against female costars on set. I’ll probably be streaming it online over the weekends going forward.
  6. Washington state: He’s the realtor. I missed why he hated stairs so much. I started thinking he must have a degenerative disease where he’ll end up wheelchair-bound. She liked to talk over him, which was annoying, but she had a really energetic positive vibe, so maybe it was natural excitement. Of course they picked the new build, but I’m sorry, if you’re hedging being able to make your mortgage payment on juggling your grocery and entertainment budgets, you’re cutting it too close.
  7. You mentioned “looking for his path” and that’s what I’m wondering. I was a live-in nanny for a year or so after college. I used it to move myself across the country to an area I wanted to live. They paid for my plane ticket, I had a bedroom and private bath, went on (working) vacations with them, had no living expenses and use of a car. It wasn’t my goal in life, but it provided me with a soft landing I could use to pivot to the next step.
  8. I want to know more of Sando’s story. He’s a nanny who works out 2x a day. What are his life goals? It’s certainly not to be a nanny with an 8 pack.
  9. The feathers have me questioning some things. First, I’ve always wondered if the immigrant bakers faced a greater challenge. I’d never heard of a Gary Baldy (TM @GaT) before, and that’s not unusual for me especially on the technicals. Show me a photo with the partial recipe and I’ll get you an approximate, but just a partial recipe? Not a chance in hell. Second, previous bakers have said they had no idea what a bake was and they’ve come close, so I figured they helped each other out or the producers gave them more direction. I’m remembering the Princess Cake specifically which is the domed layer cake with a fruit layer and the whole thing is covered by green fondant. If you don’t know what that is, how would you ever come close without some help? Third, so now I question how they got the feathers so wrong. If previous contestants can get unknown bakes right, why didn’t Abdul and Syabira? What help did previous bakers receive that they didn’t? Is it just a matter of asking other contestants about the output?
  10. Overall, I think this group is more comparably qualified than the past few seasons. Last year’s pandemic season there were only a few excellent bakers (which was apparent from the start), and we had to spend weeks watching the others be sent home. The distance between the best and weakest bakers is closer. Abdul: I was happy to see his showstopper turn out so well! I thought his was the most difficult project. Carole: Perfect example of why I like the show. Paul explained why the bake failed, but they also encouraged her with the parts that’d worked well. James’s monster: I wasn’t impressed, certainly not as much as Paul. I felt he relied on frosting rather than biscuits to create the theme. Maisam: I wish Rebs had gone home. She seems lovely, but she’s had one decent bake and multiple disasters in two episodes. The “I ran out of time I ran out of time” excuse is tiresome. I thought Maisam had done well enough to get through to next week at least.
  11. Lol, yes! Thank you! Jurgen was my favorite last year, too.
  12. Dawn was my biggest surprise. I figured her for the person who was a terrific baker whose cakes sold for the most money at her church’s fundraiser but who Paul would bully to be more creative. The fact that she is both an excellent baker and went with unique flavors was nice. Janusz is this year’s Giuseppe but with less Teutonic earnestness, which should make him more popular with the audience. He’s my favorite so far. My favorite part of the episode was when Paul commented on the color of the velvet cake, and Matt said you wanted crimson. Noel jumping in to herd Matt back into place was perfect. The Swedish baker: Matt speaks German. Anyone who has seen a few episodes knows that. Will was so gracious comforting the others. They’ll remember him fondly. I’m surprised the nuclear worker (was he the non-kilted Scot?) didn’t excel. The scientist tend to jump far ahead on the early bakes. Overall, I’m really liking this cast!
  13. This one hurts. I hope they find someone that wants to air it. S3 was setting up Mayor Bobbie vs. Terry, and I was really looking forward to their gamesmanship!
  14. I just saw a commercial for it during The Neighborhood. I’m glad they’re promoting it!
  15. The guy selling the toilet paper his Mom stole from the hotel! Lol I saw the preview earlier and couldn’t wait to have enough time to sit down and enjoy. First episode was sweet. I hope this one gets some good traction. I’ll try anything Garcia writes.
  16. Ok, I really doubted they could land it, but I fucking loved it. The whodunnit was like #23 on my list of Top 10 Moments. I’m not even certain why Bunny got killed or whatever all the father stuff was about. Everything else was so much better. I’d read something a couple days ago about Steve Martin retiring, so when he got stabbed I completely bought it. That was good use of misdirect. Overall I thought Season 1 was a better mystery, but the S2 finale re-wrote the book.
  17. I think it’s as plausible as mine or any other speculation! I’m worried there will be deus ex machina or no solution. I’m very close to being out. I want a light-hearted mystery not a multi-year saga.
  18. Here’s where I’m landing on speculation: There are two mysteries again. Bunny/painting and Cinda/Not Ok in OK. 1) The artist is Rose Cooper’s granddaughter, and she was in the diner asking Bunny for the painting. She killed Bunny in revenge when Bunny wouldn’t give her and Rose the painting back. 2) Cinda is a fraud (we’ve seen her take credit for others’ work) and Kreps is helping her cover-up the OK mystery. Poppy is Becky, but Cinda offered to make her a star, and now Cinda figures Poppy is in as deep as Cinda and Kreps are, so Poppy will keep her mouth shut. The biggest thing I can’t explain away as misdirect is why Kreps (probably) texted them to get out. He wouldn’t have known about the Artist, her motivations, or her actually killing Bunny until he heard the call come from dispatch. He wanted them out so he could remove evidence and plant it on the trio so they wouldn’t compete with Cinda. But a lot of evidence was removed/planted in a very short period of time.
  19. I love David (and this was the first episode I saw all season bc Friday nights mean baseball), but his voiceovers were breathier and more dramatic than usual, like whispered exclamations where random !!! were added to the script. His VOs have always been enthusiastic, but these were…hyper? I liked the people, but three homes (no matter how modest) made me not really care. I guess I’m a snob when it comes to the winners I can invest in emotionally.
  20. I kinda hope the bird knows who did it but it’s answer is “Jan” because Bunny had figured out who did it in Season 1 and kept repeating the answer as she was listening to the podcast. ”I know who did it. It’s Jan you *expletives.*
  21. I liked the season ok, but it’s too much like MacKenzie Bezos or Melinda Gates. I don’t get why it’s a scripted show, and the big cliff hanger was ex sex? Saw that coming as soon as she didn’t want him.
  22. Next week’s episode is 37 minutes long. They’ve got a lot to wrap up in 37 minutes.
  23. Do cops hire themselves out to other departments? I’ve never heard of that. I know in small towns that county or state police will run investigations when the small town doesn’t have the resources or experience, but I’ve not heard of a situation where a town in OK (or wherever) will hire a cop from another jurisdiction on a case-by-case basis. Poppy is Becky, but she can’t even get a meeting to discuss a promotion? And she isn’t blackmailing Cinda? Kreps must know she’s Becky. If she’s Becky. What did Charles see in the painting that made him take his watch apart? I watched the scene a few time but couldn’t tell. I loved the elevator scene because it rang true. Not that you have physical fights in elevators, but that your private moments are public. Crying on the subway, having your heart broken on the sidewalk where everyone sees and hears..It’s just another moment. I made a middle of the night trip to the emergency room, but I went in my bathrobe because in was 2:00am. When I left at 10:00am, I stood on the street and caught a cab in my bathrobe. No one blinked an eye, not even the cab driver.
  24. If I may, I don’t pretend to speak for all New Yorkers, but “Sound of Silence” is one of ours. Simon and Garfunkel might be huge stars, but they’re boys from Queens. We know the words.
  25. We should probably keep an eye on the very beginning scene when Charles is saying you can be famous or infamous in New York City (and a bus goes by with an ad for Charles, Oliver, and Mabel), and then Charles falls down a manhole. They ended S1 with the same scene that started S1.
