  1. So I have been a Bachelor fan for a few years, and I do think that fanbase has grown after recent seasons. Specifically it seems to have more younger fans who are the type who would be rabidly voting on a show like this. Tbh in a year where the Bachelor fanbase wasn't as big, I think Kel would have won this year (assuming James wasn't in the finals). However, Hannah is a worthy winner. The whole season felt off probably because of the lack of creative control from the pros. I wonder how she would have done on a prior season where the pros had more input. James too. The only one I think who really improved a lot and started living up to their potential was Kel. I think James and Hannah had more they could have shown off but didn't quite get there.
  2. I'm happy enough Hannah won, but really would have preferred Kel to win. I think the judges did want a woman to win though which is why they sacrificed James last week. I wanted to just vote for Kel, but after they overpraised Ally again (her Jive was messy and she had obvious mishaps on the freestyle that weren't mentioned) I voted for Hannah too. I thought she had the best freestyle anyway, but Kel's was also really good. I agreed with Len's critique of Kel's, but still thought he should get the 10. I enjoyed Ally's and liked that it was Latin inspired, but a couple lifts were bad. I'm not sure why they just ignore any mistake Ally makes and act like she is one of the best dancers this show has seen... She just isn't that good or inspiring. Lauren's freestyle was terrible, and she didn't even dance for half of it. It still stinks James was eliminated last week for Ally. I lowkey think it was just to ensure they got rid of him since he actually could win. I don't think the show actually wanted Hannah to win, but they did want a woman to win and she was the best bet to do that. Overall this season was really forgettable. Even though Bobby won last season, overall that season was better since it had great dancers like Milo, Evanna, Juan Pablo, and Tinashe. I just don't feel like anyone stood out this year except for James. This season could have been better if Spicer wasn't cast too because he knocked out several contestants prematurely. Lauren also stayed way too long. I think Kate was better than her, and even Sailor would have probably improved more than Lauren did if she got to the finals.
  3. I'm really annoyed they saved Ally over James... He had one off week and they cut him?? Ally has been consistently in the bottom 2. America is not a fan of her. It seems clear the judges view her as the best dancer this season and would save her over anyone else there. I really don't see it and think she has been vastly overscored. I remember people complaining about Normani receiving favoritism, but the favoritism towards Ally is some of the worst I've seen. Plus Normani was at least much better than Ally. I think the scores last night were a joke once again. Lauren was definitely overscored on her first dance. I also just feel like the choreography she has to do is always simple and easy. She should have been the one to go. Now I worry she may win since Bobby Bones is rallying votes for her. Other big country artists like Carrie Underwood were telling people to vote for her too. James was way underscored. At the least if he got 8s on the first dance, so should Lauren and probably Kel too. I think Hannah's contemporary was better than Kel's, so not sure why it got 9s. I think Ally was once again way overscored. Has she even received any criticism in weeks? I guess she is just a perfect dancer at this point... I will be voting for Hannah and Kel and hope one of them wins. I would love Kel to win at this point, but happy with either. I think Kel has the potential for the best freestyle. Also I don't buy into the conspiracy that James asked to leave, as they would not have needed to do a bottom 2 then. Tom could have just said at the end of the night James opted to leave the competition. If James actually did ask to leave, then I suspect the show still did the bottom 2 to encourage Ally fans to really vote in the finals since she was once again in jeopardy.
  4. Thank god Spicer is gone! I'm ready for Lauren or Ally to go though. The judges have overscored them all season and the dance-off last week showed they were weaker than their opponent (yet both have consistently scored higher than who they danced against). I think they must have overscored Ally this week to try and force Sean into the bottom 2. That's the only thing I can think of for giving her two perfect scores. That samba absolutely did not deserve above 9s. I'm okay with the jazz score as I did think it was well done, and the judges usually overscore jazz and contemporary dances. I thought Hannah was underscored on both dances. The first one while a bit sloppy on the lifts, was moving at double the speed of everyone else tonight and did require a lot of skill to pull off. She should have had some 9s. I thought her tango deserved the perfect score. I'm glad Kel managed to get a perfect score. I'm just pissed off with Ally. So is she now the highest scorer this season? That really seems like a joke when James is on the show. I don't even think Ally is the best woman dancer. Lauren has started to plateau for me. She probably would have done better on the show with a different pro. I hope the top 3 are James, Hannah, and Kel. Hopefully the judges start improving their scoring, but idk if they will. Their bias is so obvious. I feel like they would save Ally in the bottom 2 up against anyone at this point.
  5. The judging has been a mess this season. I don't think it's just with Spicer either because I find others overscored at times (mainly Ally and Lauren). Idk why they have been giving Sean 7s as that was what they gave Bobby last season, and Bobby was honestly way better than Sean. He shouldn't be getting above 6s. He also deserved some 4s back when they were handing them out to Lamar. I actually thought Lauren deserved some 7s tonight too with her mess ups. My favorite dances were Hannah, Kel, and Ally. I enjoyed the dance offs too and thought the correct couples won. Lauren and Ally didn't look too great on that dance off and it showed they have some weaknesses the judges seem to ignore. James is my favorite and I think the only hope to beat Spicer. I think people will rally around him more than last season where people seemed split between Milo and Evanna. I was sad to see Kate go. She was one of my favorites and so likeable to watch. Pasha was a great addition too! However, if Sean wasn't eliminated then I did think it was Kate or Lauren's time to go. Kate did mess up some this week and I felt had gotten a bit stagnant. She was up and down having some awesome routines and then some lackluster ones. I think Jive is a hard dance though and takes a lot of energy. I really want Sean out but idk if it will happen unless they have another double elimination. The new voting system is terrible. It doesn't seem much different than before except it cuts out the West Coast... I'm not really a fan of the judges choosing either, at least not 100%. I really think there should be an option where if it goes to Len and he can't decide, then he can revert it back to America's vote. I just don't want to see who they pick if it's between two solid dancers, say Ally vs Kel or Ally vs Hannah.
  6. To clarify on my rule change suggestion: I meant if someone is on the bottom of the scoreboard 3 times in a row they automatically go home, not just landing in bottom 2.
  7. It was a mistake casting Spicer. The show really needs to stop this stunt casting. I don't think he even brings any new viewers to the show, since a lot of his fans seem to blind vote. At least with Bobby Bones he has a real fanbase of millions. I really hope Spicer is out by the semi-finals. I think if he makes the finals we will know he could be top 2 or win, as if he had never been in the bottom at that point, he is getting a ton of votes. I think the scores are bad this season. I feel like a lot of the women have been overscored (Ally, Sailor, Lauren). Then Hannah gets weird scores and critiques, and at times Kate's scores are off too. I hope James wins the season and Kel makes the finals. I've felt pretty underwhelmed by this season and cast. Also the rule change was totally pointless since it does nothing. I can think of several better alternatives than what they instituted. I saw someone mention if a person is in the bottom 3 times they automatically go home which I think would be acceptable. Or in the first few weeks, the judges should just determine who is eliminated and that can weed out the worst ones like Sean, but after X amount of weeks it reverts to the fan vote. I also think this season once the judges are stuck making a controversial choice, they will probably get some backlash. For instance, the judges seem to love Ally so I could see them saving her over someone like Kel and I don't think fans would be happy about that.
  8. Is anyone else just not into this season? I feel like I'm not connecting with this cast, and I'm not a fan of the new elimination format. I would prefer if the judges are deadlocked they revert to America's vote. I just think once we get two decent dancers in the bottom, people will be unhappy with the judge's choice. Plus this format does nothing to eliminate bad dancers if they don't end up in the bottom 2.
  9. I think a good idea would be making the judges votes count more for the actual finale vote/winner. Ie. judges scoring would count 75% for the finals, and has a bigger factor on who wins. Most of the time, the judges will evenly score the better dancers left so they don't really impact much. It's only when someone is a lot worse at the end when they usually get lower scores, so I don't think the judges power would be that great. However it would help counteract a much weaker dancer winning if they scored them accurately. I don't think most want the judges just picking the winner. It would get too predictable. Whoever the statistically highest scorer was would win every year. This way, a fan favorite could still make it to the end but less likely to win if they were vastly worse than the others. Also a really good dancer that wasn't popular would still likely be eliminated earlier in the season.
  10. Personally I don't think Bobby came across well on the show. In the beginning I thought he seemed enthusiastic but by the end he just seemed to make excuses for not being as good as others. Non-dancers have won this show in the past, so I'm not sure why he seemed to think he was an anomaly. The difference was those non-dancers usually ended up being pretty good and learning a few things. Bobby may think he was dancing, but Sharna was doing wonders choreographing around his flaws and keeping his dancing to a minimum. I know Joe was stiff as a board, but at least you could tell he was a bit embarrassed to stay on so long. I think he admitted being relieved to be voted off because he knew he didn't have the skill. Also in a season when we had a blind contestant, Bobby constantly complaining about his zero dance experience was just annoying. Bobby isn't the first to have a busy schedule on the show either. I remember Normani flying back and forth from Asia when she was on the show. Idk Bobby's win just put a really bad taste in my mouth. I don't care about the best not winning. I was rooting for Evanna and Milo, but technically Juan Pablo was the best this season. I rooted for Normani but was happy seeing Rashad win. It's the fact Bobby barely improved and in the finale did minimal dancing. Sharna has been one of my favorite pros for a long time too. I've wanted her to win for so long, but I'm not even happy for her because I'm just annoyed by this win. I have a hard time seeing anything appealing about Bobby unless you already followed him from his radio show. I'll admit I tend to dislike radio personalities though. I can only think of 2 radio stations where I don't mind the hosts. Most of the time radio hosts irk my nerves.
  11. That was really disappointing. I am struggling to see why people even like Bobby. I feel like if Milo and Bobby swapped personalities, people would find Milo quite annoying and say he was an immature teenager, yet when Bobby does it, it's endearing? Milo or Evanna would have both been great winners. Juan Pablo would have been a great winner. Even Alexis had much more talent than Bobby. Bobby's attitude was terrible as well. He seemed very whiny. Yes the point of the show is to teach inexperienced dancers, but it is also to see who ends up having a natural ability and learns. Sharna just danced around Bobby week to week. I give Sharna credit as I thought she choreographed some decent routines and I guess she did a good job covering how little Bobby did since he somehow won. At least in the past if the technically best didn't win, the winner still brought something to the table (charisma, was still a decent dancer, etc). I think the show cancelled the second finale episode when they realized Bobby would win. They didn't even bother with the dramatic countdown and just announced him the winner. I think the show was trying to brush over it. It felt like Milo and Evanna both received better packages over the night. I'm not even happy Sharna finally won because Bobby should not have won.
  12. I really hope Evanna and Keo manage to win. It seems like they have peaked at the right time in the competition. However, I won't be mad if Milo wins either. I find Bobby very annoying. He acts so immature and obnoxious. I do think he is serious about the show, but a bit delusional about how well he does. I am surprised Juan Pablo was eliminated, but glad Joe left. I think the showmance did actually help Alexis and Alan. Perhaps that resonates more with her fanbase? I can see younger voters finding them a cute couple and voting for them for that reason. I do think Alexis deserves her spot in the finals though. Bobby is the one who should have been eliminated.
  13. Yes Joe was barely on the Bachelor, but was basically on the entire season of Bachelor in Paradise. I read rumors that they offered him the Bachelor gig too but he turned it down because he is dating Kendall. He is very popular because he just seems like a normal, nice guy. He is charming too, but I honestly think his personality is really lowkey for all the attention he has garnered. Anyway from browsing some Bachelor forums, it's obvious his fans are obsessed with whatever he does. I don't think they will stop voting for him, but I'm doubtful he will actually win. Who honestly knows though. I saw someone say they put in around 400 votes for him in the first week because they thought he'd go home (why Idk since I think casual watchers of the show don't vote much the first few weeks, so that was overkill). Bobby Bones fanbase seems insane too. I thought it would be big prior to the season. Now I'm wondering if he could take the MBT. He may get a lot of casual fans who are from states that get his radio show, so they aren't even mega fans but just familiar with him so they will vote for him. Even though I love Sharna, I wouldn't want to see her win with Bobby. The only pro I'd care about getting their first win this season is Keo because I think Evanna is really good.
  14. I like Joe, but his personality isn't the best about expressing interest/enthusiasm for the show (I know, I'm the same way). So when I watch him, it's hard to believe he is enjoying himself. If I compare to Bobby, Bobby seems really into the whole experience where Joe just seems meh. Joe did improve quite a bit from the beginning though. However, depending on the style of dance he is assigned, I can see him turning in another really bad performance. He seems to be passable when doing dances in hold. I wasn't upset with this week's eliminations. I was surprised to see DeMarcus go, but he had gone downhill from week 1. I also felt like Lindsay was really choreographing around him trying to cover up his flaws. She may have tried to do too many tricks with him as well, rather than show off any dance improvement. I was so relieved Evanna was safe. I'm glad Alexis was safe too, as we need one of them in the finals (not just because they are women, but they are actually both within the top 4 best dancers left). I'm really enjoying Evanna and Keo's partnership. I know a lot don't like Keo, but I think he just has a different personality than we are used to. I do notice he isn't as good about emoting during the dances though. For instance in the rumba, he would randomly start smiling. I think he is used to doing things for actual dance competitions whereas the show's viewers are looking for different things (like emotions in the dance, chemistry with the partner, etc). I would love to see these two makes the finals, especially since Keo would be so excited to go that far. You could see how happy he was to get a perfect score this week. I'm really not feeling the Alexis/Alan showmance but maybe it worked and helped get them more votes. More power to them if that's what it takes to stay on the show. She is a great dancer but people apparently weren't connecting to that. I was actually surprised she didn't get eliminated tonight. Based on who has been in jeopardy, we could actually have an all male finale. I know the bottom 2 or 3 aren't necessarily accurate, but usually those placed there need a voting boost. I don't think Joe, Bobby, Juan Pablo, or Milo have been in jeopardy yet. Seems crazy when Joe and Bobby are not that good, and honestly Joe doesn't have a very inspiring personality, but it is what it is. This season has been pretty lackluster. Juan Pablo and Milo are really good, and I do think Milo will most likely win so at least we may get a good winner. Hopefully the women can pick up some extra votes now that other stars are gone.
  15. Is anyone else annoyed by Bobby constantly stating he isn't a dancer and has zero experience? I know there were several dance ringers this season but there are also a decent amount of celebs with minimal experience (himself, Joe, John, Demarcus). I don't think MaryLou really had dance background either, but people tend to equate the gymnast experience as similar to dancing. Idk about Alexis' background. Anyway every time Bobby says it, it grates on my nerves. Joe, who is doing much worse, hasn't been bringing that up every week.
