  1. Actually, now that I think of it, if we go by father Marcus's info, he should be about 52 years old (he does mention more than once that he has been doing this for 40 years since he was 12) and if Casey is in high school, that would make her about 16 or 17......which would make the age gap between them about 35 years :-/ ......so yeah, the more I think about this (I.e. a romantic/sexual relationship between them), the more it seems creepy and inappropriate) But that being said, I've been thinking about this a lot lately and if Casey appears on season 2 or 3 (depending on how many ever seasons Fox is planning to approve for the writers) she will probably end up helping Marcus (along with Thomas) to fight demons.....Marcus could learn a thing or two from Casey (and vice-versa) because despite the age gap, who better to understand the mind of a demon than someone who was possessed by one! Who knows....under father Marcus tutelage, Casey might just become the next female Exorcist! :D
  2. Yeah, the uncle-vibe makes sense too, now that I think about it....the scene where he and Thomas interrogate Casey for the first time and Marcus starts talking about "plants", sorta reminded me of the mean but playful way that my maternal uncles used to tease me when I was growing up (they were a lot more meaner to me and the teasing was relentless! Lol).
  3. Actually there was an interview taken sometime back where Ben Daniels comments about this. Here is the quote: "Marcus’s sexuality, whatever it may turn out to be, has no shame attached to it. It doesn’t bother him. He doesn’t see it as a sin. I think Marcus, as well as having his own version of the Bible, has his own version of Catholicism! I like the idea that, if we progress into a Season 2, his sexuality is something that will be explored further. Because he no longer has his collar, which means he is free from all the priestly vows that he is taken." "I feel that he has always been someone who is attracted to people’s minds and their stories, regardless of gender and sexuality. To suddenly be able to interact with people in a physical way will be a very new and exciting thing for him. He was institutionalized from a very young age and to suddenly be free of all that — I think he might turn into a 52-year-old teenager!" "I think at the moment his sexuality could be very fluid. I know everyone online things he is gay because he flirted with a man in a bar — but hey, this is “The Exorcist”… It could go any which way! It could get fantastically messy!"--- https://www.google.co.in/amp/screenertv.com/television/the-exorcist-season-1-finale-ben-daniels-interview/amp/ Although I didn't list this specific option above, I strictly fall in the "don't need a label for this bond as it is simply based on respect and trust" :-) But that being said, I am open to the possibility of their relationship falling into any one of the above categories as the series progresses and depending on how many seasons we get. And yes, I am even open to the idea that the writers might end giving them some romantic label too because judging from the Ben Daniel's quotes from the interview above, it sounds like the writers are spoiling him with regards to what's in store for his character's love life in season 2 :-)
  4. Ok, I'm not sure if this thread was ever started before and since this is my first post on the forums, so here I go :-D Everytime I rewatch the show, I love watching Marcus and Casey interact...and considering the fact that Marcus has risked his life above and beyond the call of duty to save Casey, taking risks and making sacrifices like that for someone, creates an unspoken bond between the two people emotionally involved in the situation. So now my question is, if you had to label their bond, what would you label it? A counsellor-patient bond or a mentor-mentee bond or an older brother-younger sis vibe or a parent-child bond or dare I say, a bond based on future romantic potential/implications (maybe 2 or 3 seasons down the line, i.e. if the series survives that long....and it's not like cable t.v. hasn't tried the older man-younger woman relationship before without it being creepy, case in point, Monica and Richard from Friends :-D) So what do you guys think? Would love to hear everyone's responses!
