  1. omg, the volcano. They're just so cheesy. Thanks for the update/sorry you too are stuck with the Xenubians.
  2. I'm still a little irritated that they speak in English to each other, in Milan, while fighting, even though I understand as a citizen of the TV-watching world why this is so.
  3. This may be SOP, at least in New York State? I don't think I've ever been alone with a doctor, man or woman, for an exam. Ostensibly the assistant is there to make notes in the chart or help out with equipment, but I always just assumed it's a lawsuit prophylactic that they just...do, regardless. Not that I should be looking to this show for realism on any front. I hate the way they ALL say it.
  4. Maybe kids are meaner now, but in my day, your parents' shit was your parents' shit. It wasn't "off limits," it just...wasn't used. Granted, I grew up in a schmancy suburb, and the "shit" in question was, like, the dad going to Club Fed for insider trading. One classmate's dad left his mom and came out; that was a conversation-stopper back in the '80s. And then there were certain...other parental occupations...that you weren't going to clock anyone for in North Jersey, IYKWIM. I'm not saying it doesn't happen or didn't happen, and my school was not typical for a number of reasons, but I do still think the incidence is far higher and more severe in fictional narrative than it is IRL.
  5. I saw a semi-explanation about Sally while I was prepping this episode: https://veronica-mars.livejournal.com/1338230.html (Not really spoily, esp. if you've been listening along to Go Pirates!, but it's hinty.)
  6. You're correct, that's what I meant. (Hee. Deep cut!)
  7. Tara and I were just discussing that yesterday. ...Well, not really, because what is there to say, but...yeah.
  8. Or "America's Best France Crew."
  9. I was wondering the same thing! I don't know why I didn't just Google it, I guess I thought it would come up later?
  10. If you remember, can you put it in the Tip Line thread? I'll add it to my prospective-topics list. Thanks!
  11. I don't know why I thought that was a podcast? I'll check it out. Are you planning to watch USA's Unsolved?
  12. Maybe someone has a rec for a different account with...not that in it?
  13. These are all great recs; thanks! And that link is fixed; you can also visit it here: http://previously.tv/television/feeling-the-god-in-outlaw-prophet-warren-jeffs/
  14. NB: The sound is a little jenky on this one; we really apologize! We're working on a fix for next time. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
  15. Huh, that makes a lot of sense (and it is mentioned in a future ep, but I can see how EC really going there emotionally would make things tricky for future plotting). And: thanks for listening!
  16. hee, totally. I am trying to watch them all and just skip ghosty/alien stuff that he won't be in, but no luck yet!
  17. Dan just can't remember many details, except that he's a detective (i.e., not in uniform). That IS super-helpful, though!
  18. I just thought of GOB's dance and laughed again. Fukui: YEEEEEEEHHHHHHSSSSSS
  19. It's not just wrong; it's as wrong as it could possibly be. Hee. Correct link: http://previously.tv/the-blotter-presents/the-trade-and-alcatraz-revisited/
  20. Could be! I didn't even notice it until the second pass, so whatever's intended, it's meant to be subtle.
  21. That's an interesting one; pity the series is on HLN ("the Nancy Grace network") but I'll see if I can get screeners...
  22. ^ That one is my favorite. So much cool, dry shade about Manson's rock-star aspirations.
