  1. So a new chef again, Antoinnette, again with a huge piece of hair hanging down the the side/front of her face. Someone needs to tell the stylists for the show that that trend went out many years ago. Besides, who wants their hair hanging in their face when they cook? Is it just me, or is this show much less interesting now? And barely 21 minutes now, so many ads before and after.
  2. Dial Exfoliating soap. The commercial shows a woman who looks like a burn victim, then her "skin" sifts away, showing her now restored face. Ugh. It is so disturbing. And the Dolce & Gabbana commercial with the young tan goth anorexic couple walking around in the desert, then laying on the scorching hot hood of an old car. What does any of that have to do with cologne?
  3. Squabbles, lies, and fighting. The only thing I enjoyed about this episode was the beautiful fabric and dresses. Abishola's mom is the worst. She brings discord to every situation these characters find themselves in.
  4. Jack just did a talk about Apple products, and suggested that you never buy unsweetened apple sauce. He also said you'd never make applesauce at home without added sugar. I guess he's never heard of Cortland apples. We used them years ago to make unsweetened applesauce, and it was terrific. I can't imagine buying any brand of applesauce with added sugar. Many of the brands have sugar as well as corn syrup. Of course he also is the one who said it was ok to put your tomatoes in the fridge. And who is Sam Block? I didn't enjoy her pie pop thing at all, and those hair things hanging down on the sides of her face were so distracting.
  5. Well that was disappointing. If Yogesh appears again in future, we will be skipping that. His lack of good form and nasty comments should have kept him from appearing again. It was just so graceless. I am beyond ready for some regular Jeopardy and new faces.
  6. Balance of Nature Supplements...and that Dr. Gehr lady who is in the commercial. If that is what those supplements do to those who take them, no thanks. How can the people making that commercial not see how awful she looks? It's disturbing.
  7. I'd watch anything with Lottie, she is so funny and "real." She would make a great host for this show or any other. Chigs is adorable as always. Manon is ok, but not nearly as personable as many of the contestants. Anthony didn't leave much of an impression on me...I'd have to watch his season again.
  8. Thank goodness. It was just not a good fit IMO. I know many liked her, but we never watched when she was hosting. The giggling, the pauses, the gushing, it just wasn't her thing.
  9. I enjoyed the episode with the returning bakers. Did not really enjoy tv personalities who don't know how to bake. Give this format its own show, and stick to regular people who have been previous contestants.
  10. What does skidding on ice and having your clothes ripped off have to do with Cheese-Its?
  11. Overall, I've enjoyed this season, especially after that train wreck that was last season. But...they've almost gone too far too easy I think. And man, can't they give the them enough time to complete the bakes? I understand the desire to keep it closely timed, but it seems to be way too tight timing wise on many of the challenges. I wasn't surprised to see Cristy go, she didn't seem to be enjoying the process and was always so stressed out. Josh is very good, just a little quiet, so he doesn't stand out. Dan needs to go, I'd like to see Tasha go all the way. I've no thoughts either way about Matty, I can't get past his Moe Howard haircut. Wow, I really hate those.
  12. I usually record this show, and FF through Toni's segments. I don't enjoy her bits at all, she's tough to listen to. Not sure who decided she needed to be on camera, but don't agree.
  13. Sad to see Keith go, but I think he was in over his head with dealing with the timings of the challenges. He does seem to be a great home baker. I'm enjoying a softer gentler Paul H, he seems to be having fun. Alison seems a good fit with Noel. Overall the show is back to the original charm, which is terrific after last season.
  14. I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode, from the opening bit to the very end. It seems the show is going to actually return to the format that made it so much fun to watch. Baking. Not building, cooking, frying, etc. I love the old time bakes, or obscure ones. All the contestants seem competent. I wish the first episode didn't send anyone home, it's heartbreaking. I like that none of them have some over-the-top schtick/gimmick/way of dressing etc. Goth gal from a previous season springs to mind. I don't miss Matt one bit. He was not a good fit at all, and he never found his stride here. I love Noel, but 2 goofs at the same time was too much. I loved Sandy with him, and the 2 original gals were the best IMO.
  15. Partly, but the broken out greasy face of the gal in the commercial was really off putting. This was the commercial where it was diced and fried with veggies. And the close up of her shoving a forkful into her mouth was the topper. Gah.
  16. Oh goody, DirecTV is squabbling with whoever owns this show, so I no longer see it. My current recording is the message about the contract expiring.
  17. Very sad to see Nirali go home. I was really hoping to see her go all the way. Usually be this point there is at least one I want to see leave, but this group hasn't been that way. I wanted to try every bake made on this show. As always, I wish they would give them enough time to do a decent job.
  18. So now Mayim laughs when contestants miss a double jeopardy? So many unanswered questions. Just wow.
  19. Pete looks like a meth addict. I can't believe any company wants him as their spokesperson. I like KH, but not his commercials. We mute all commercials all the time, but some are still obnoxious to even look at. Pete D's, those stoopid Jennifer Coolidge sticky makeup commercials, gah.
  20. While I've never been a fan of GE, I was sad to see he gained all that weight back. The white glasses have to go. So far the show has been a big "meh." Their choices are just weird. Broken sauces, average looking bundt cakes, I don't get it.
  21. Me as well. Giggly gal's food reminded me of soggy Asian carry out food.
  22. This. Those little bunt cakes? GR said they were stunning? They looked fine, but were not stunning by any stretch of the imagination. It seemed to me they judged on the diversity of the contestants themselves, and not the quality of the food. Editing to add...how is cooking "honest"?
  23. The actor who used to do the commercial looked genuine and sounded Scottish. The current guy looks like he belongs on a list of of predators.
  24. Pulled up Monday and Tuesday's episodes from the dvr, saw MB, and turned it off. She ruins the show for me.
