  1. But, maybe it's not live grace. I can't see it, but I'm shedding skin constantly. My hair is falling out, too. Neither of those things is really still alive anymore, and it's going to turn to dust, the skin faster than the hair. Maybe I finally stumbled onto the right analogy.
  2. It's not complete grace, though. It's residual grace. So, while I, alive, use many things to stay alive and be regenerated, etc, once I die, these same elements work in my decomposition (I assume), we're really veering away from my very small area of expertise. Can grace want something? What is grace outside of an angel? Do we know? Sam didn't kick out the grace. He kicked out the angel. Grace doesn't seem to have a will of its own. Though it degraded (which may or may not strengthen my point, so I'll leave that alone), Cas borrowed grace, but he didn't seem to take on any of the attributes or personality traits. of the donating angel.
  3. Yes, I absolutely think the power of grace while your possessed keeps you alive, young and healed. But, we were discussing my theory that the "leftover" grace degrades or disappears over time. That it doesn't stay in you, ready to be extracted for location spells indefinitely.
  4. Antibiotics heal. They stay in the system for a short time. But they eventually pass out of the system. How's that?
  5. I forgot about that. But, I still think my healing analogy stands. If Cas healing Sam was making the grace fade, then (in a longer period of time) normal, healthy cell regeneration ought to do the same thing. And, my other point of it being apparently very difficult to get enough also stands. They're not going to kill Sam or Claire to get grace for location spells.
  6. I'm not sure what the connection is. Grace isn't a soul. I don't think see why a soul would power up grace when grace is more powerful. Cas said that the grace, or more specifically, the piece of the angel left behind was fading each time he healed him. Now, obviously, most former angel vessels aren't being angel healed for something. But, if healing makes it fade, I would think just regular healthy cell regeneration might do the same.
  7. I'm going with the theory that it degrades fairly quickly. They were looking for Gadreel the episode after he left Sam's body, not years after. And, don't forget, they didn't actually get enough grace out of Sam. Cas said that getting enough would probably kill him.
  8. As JM says all the time, in small claims it's not about the money, it's about the principle. And, I'll go one further and say sometimes it's about the hate.
  9. If I were Emily's granddaughter, I don't know that I would bother to learn the maid's name either. there's just going to be a new one next week :)
  10. I think it's fine, and actually good, to not like someone as an entertainer, and not feel that you have to carry that over and dislike them as a person. Or vice-versa. We really no very little about celebrities. Even the ones that are most talked about, so IMO, it doesn't really make much sense to hate or love them as human beings. Just in their professional capacity.
  11. Yes, she was on the phone ignoring everyone and they ended up swiping their own cards. I'm not sure why they needed a card swiper person in the first place.
  12. I actually don't mind Dr. Phil. But, I've only seen his show maybe 5 times, he may get annoying on a more regular basis. But, most of what he said seemed like good common sense, which so many people, at least the people on this show, seem to lack. Like there was this divorced woman whose divorce settlement gave her like $10,000 a month (OK I don't the exact number but it was a lot) and the ex filed for bankruptcy and she just kept spending and was deep in debt. And Dr. Phil was like "stop spending. Get a job." Get a job may not be so easy, but stop spending is easier. Anyway, all she kept saying was "supposed to." And, he was like you have to deal with the actual situation, not what it's supposed to be. But, she just would not hear that, no matter how many times he said it. I actually felt kind of bad for her, because you're just never going to be happy with that kind of bitterness and living in a fantasy world. I feel worse for her kids, because while I'm sure she loves them, she's not setting them a good example and she's hurting their future.
  13. If they didn't have to shower, I don't think they sweat. And, it's canon that they don't have to shower. Cas said it point blank to Hannah in Girls Girls Girls. Maybe he stole them. Jimmy probably had some money in his wallet at the time Cas possessed him. Plus credit cards that may have been OK for a one month of usage until he didn't pay the bills. Maybe somebody gave him ties. Maybe he stole them. Maybe angels can magically change their clothing. And I'm not being snarky about that. If Gabriel could entirely change his appearance, which he did in Mystery Spot and Changing Channels, why can't an angel change the appearance of his clothing? And, Cas could disappear within seconds and be back with an object. You move that fast, you may accidentally collect stuff you didn't even mean to. Who knows?
  14. He could have completely avoided it by just saying that he wasn't going to pay for it instead of dodging the question, or more likely just saying yeah, OK and not meaning it. So, while I agree that he shouldn't have had to pay for it, the fact that he did was kind of on him.
  15. Post heaven Can't WAit, I think at some point in time, Dean showed him how to do credit card fraud. It wasn't shown, but yes, he had money and he had to get it from somewhere. Before s9, I honestly don't think he ever used money. We didn't see it. And, yes, I think he stole what he drank, probably out of a store that was closed. Getting in wouldn't have been an issue. Unless it was warded. LOL, I just got a visual of the store owner coming in in the morning. "Not again. That's it. I'm warding for angels."
  16. I honestly don't remember Cas ever paying for anything pre-season 9. Why would he have to? He didn't eat. So, he didn't need food, or beverages for that matter. He didn't sleep, so he wouldn't need a hotel room. He never changed his clothes, so he wouldn't need clothes. Apparently angels don't get dirty because he once told Hannah that they didn't need to shower. That seems like a money saver right there. And I know he said that he drank a liquor store that one time, but we weren't there and didn't see him actually pay for anything. He could have made himself invisible and just flown off a bottle at a time, making the proprietor wonder where it had all disappeared to.
  17. Well, again, I don't remember how he treated him and why Rory told him he was treating him like a servant. If he was being rude to him (beyond just not socializing) then that means that Rory thinks that it's OK to treat servants rudely, and quite frankly says a lot about her. But, I wouldn't expect anyone that Rory didn't previously know to do any more than say thanks after she swiped and handed back their card and basically take no special notice of her.
  18. Well, technically, Logan is right. He was a servant. I only vaguely remember this epi. I didn't really pay attention the college years that closely, so I don't remember exactly what he did wrong. But, if he was rude, Rory should have made her argument that you shouldn't treat anyone rudely or beneath you. If he were merely being formal and treating him as an employee, Rory could have countered that he is also my friend. To which Tristan could have replied that he wasn't his friend, and he prefers to not get to chummy with employees.
  19. What I've wondered is if Sam even spoke to Cas after the final scene. Sam thinks Cas left on his own. In Holy Terror, Cas thinks Sam knows that Dean told him to leave. It's hard to see how a goodbye scene went down (unless Gad took over for it which is possible) without at least one of them realizing their mistake. If Sam is asking Dean in the next epi why Cas is leaving, logic would say he would have asked Cas himself had he had the opportunity.
  20. I don't think dean gave Cas a "substantial" amount of money. Just whatever cash he had in his wallet. Maybe 2 or 300 dollars. That would have been long gone in a week or two, probably.
  21. From a show point, there was no reason to kill Death. But, from Dean's viewpoint, he didn't know that the spell was underway and Death said that if Dean didn't kill Sam, he would. For Dean, that was enough of a reason.
  22. I am honestly quite annoyed by that. And that we are still waiting for these "cosmic" consequences that Billie promised. I'm even semi-annoyed that the only thing that happened when they broke open the leviathan tablet was that a prophet was awakened. With the lightning and thunder, or whatever, and Dean remarking that it sounded like the universe was saying stop, well, you should stop and if you don't, you would think there would be more consequences besides a prophet being awakened and majorly inconvenicing hospitals by every woman almost ready to do so went into labor.
  23. Season 1- Hook Man Season 2- The Usual Suspects Season 3- Fresh Blood Season 4- It's the Great Pumpkin Sam Winchester Season 5- The Curious Case of Dean Winchester Season 6- Family Matters Season 7- The Mentalists Season 8- A Little Slice of Kevin Season 9- Bad Boys Season 10- Girls Girls Girls Season 11- Plush Season 12- Rock Never Dies Favorite episode: Hook Man; Least Favorite: A Little Slice of Kevin Hook Man: I love when Dean gumbles to himself. "Next time I'll stay and watch the pretty girl." He's so cute every time he does it. The Usual Suspects: This episode was fun the way Sam was saying what happened and then seeing what really happened. best Dean line: "pee break? already? Might want to get your prostate checked." And, then at the end when Diana and pete were fighting and Sam looked to Dean for permission on whether or not to jump him or whatever and dEan shook his head no. That kind of makes me wonder how people can deny Dean was definitely the more in charge of the two in earlier seasons. Fresh Blood: Gordon's death was gross. Which kind of colors my view of the episode as a whole. But, Dean was mostly being Dean in this episode. Keeping his game face on. And, the end where he was teaching Sam how to fix the car. Because he was going to need to know these things in the future. Sniff Sniff. It's the Great Pumkin: I like this episode a lot. "ASTRONAUT!!!" Hee hee. "You took a shot?" Yeah, Dean, it's OK. How often do you two know for sure anythings' going to work? The Curious Case of Dean Winchester: This episode was OK. While Chad Everett was fine as random guy who became old, I just didn't really buy him as Dean. But, maybe that's because I have a different conception of old man Dean? I don't know. Family Matters: Not super crazy about this episode, but it's alright. Dean's speech to Sam about soullessness or the mumps was interesting, but I don't know if true. Because I never really figured out exactly what soullessness is. I liked his "moment" with Gwen. For a Campbell, she was OK. The Mentalists: Again, just OK. I liked Melanie and Dean's interaction with her. Not much to say about this epi in general. A Little Slice of Kevin. Don't really like this epi. Not even sure why. I did like the Dean and Cas parts in present time, though, believe it or not. Dean's concern for him and questioning how he came back was pretty spot on and in character. Bad Boys: Love this epi. My fave of the season, but it's my least fave season, so take that for what it's worth. I do have a problem with the ages, but I'll look past that. Dylan Everett did a great job, IMO. I always love Dean's interactions with kids and Timmy was no exceptin. Girls Girls Girls: I just rewatched this one recently and decided I liked it much more than I thought I did. Probably my re-evaluation of Rowena may have had something to do with it. She really grew on me as time went by. But, Dean's scenes with Cole were the best. I do kind of wonder why the boys are so adamant about not paying, though. Plush: I've only seen this twice. I think I liked it. But, I don't really remember much specifically about Dean. I think I mostly liked it for the Sam and Donna parts, both their interactions, Donna and her new Doug, and Sam's fear of clowns, once again. Rock Never Dies: This is the opposite of Girls Girls Girls. I thought I REALLY liked this epi., but on second watch, I was like OK. They looked good posing as rockers or whatever. That's about all I can think of at the moment. I think the first time, I was mostly just pleasantly surprised by Rick Springfield.
  24. I don't like Logan, but I saw nothing wrong with Rory organizing DAR events She was actually quite good at it. She should have started an event planning business. Plus she had to be doing something on her Yale break.
  25. If that's true, then how did Jimmy crave red meat in My Bloody valentine? I always figured it was after swan Song.
