I think it’s because so many parents want to be friends with their children rather than parent (create clear boundaries and enforce them).

Parents gave me a heads up on some of that and were clear on the rules and the tweens were aware I knew the limits.
Lock them in the trunk of your car and put the key in your pocket.

Re tipping mechanics.
I was at the Audi dealership last week. They charge $195/hour for their mechanic’s services.I cannot afford to tip them any extra.

The scene with Caroline Stansbury and her daughter at the restaurant broke my heart. I hadn’t realized that the daughter’s father moved out just two weeks before Sergio moved in! Sadly, I don’t think her daughter feels very loved.
Even Sergio’s mother sees the writing on the wall re: the baby.-

I didn’t hear it covered on last night’s episode. She was missing an event as she was going to the airport to pick up her family. They are coming in to celebrate the opening of her skin care line. She might be waiting until her family is to share it with them first.

This person is a retired professional photographer from NYC and has all of his available carry on allotment full of cameras, lenses etc. He doesn’t want to pay the airline $50 to take his laptop as well yes, he’s cheap and proud of it
My girlfriend offed to let me borrow her smart tv, and he can use my Amazon account for movies or stream like I do.
We have been friends for over 5 decades.
Y’all make me laugh because he has already started to let me know what he will and will not eat right down to “It needs to come from a Farmers market” to brands. I really think he has Asperger’s. He only has one other friend. I know he doesn’t understand many social clues, and seems like a narcissist to someone who doesn’t understand. However, if you want a picture or to know something about photography, he’s your man. I’m numb to all the camera talk. Too much all my life.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. If he needs something I’ll suggest he buys a Fire tablet mentioned upthread. It will be his birthday while he’s here (10 days), but my plan was to take him out to dinner. No extra gifts from me.

I have company coming. This person can’t bring their laptop on the plane. As this person is nosy, I’d like to get an inexpensive iPad that they can watch some tv on and get their mail. This person wants me to buy a tv to hang on the wall, and get cable for it! Or a smart tv and get a Firestick or the other, Roku. Anyone know of a fairly inexpensive iPad for those two things? I’m not willing to buy a tv and have cable installed for just 10 days.

I’m glad that Squeaky has gone deaf on days like yesterday. She used to be scared and the fireworks discombobulated her. Now she couldn’t care less. She will be 21 in 3 months.

Well I guess congratulations to Lindsay and the man she’s dating. She was a live wire when not pregnant. I wonder how she’s going to be with her pregnancy hormones and not drinking. Somehow I don’t think she’s a good fit for this next season. She needs so much attention that I seem to miss hearing about what’s going on in the other housemates lives. I think this is going to amplify that.

Well if their marriage isn’t over by now (when this show is being broadcast) that might be the final nail in the coffin.
Why have children if you don’t want to spend any time enjoying them? Nanny’s and boarding schools don’t sound like a fun way to grow and learn how to be a family. No wonder Caroline (who I strongly dislike seeing chewing with her mouth open) doesn’t have a good relationship with her parents.

A lady at my Mahjong club (Friday afternoons) just invited everyone to come to her house for the Fourth with their husbands. I’m single, but feel comfortable enough with the ladies that I’m going to go alone. They supply the bar and everyone else brings a heavy appetizer to share. So no traditional meal or foods, but good finger foods. I’m thinking of making chicken salad tea sandwiches. Let me know if anyone has a better suggestion of what I can take.
I spend most holidays by myself and am used to it. Been this way since I was 15 and my parents always went to see my brother and family, but never took me. He was the star (oldest and only son).-
