i missed Equestrian again. grrrrr. CBC didn't really air it/speak about it at all.

At some point it will probably be available on YouTube.

They all seem to be wearing the same pants. Are those Fabletics or something? Shannon seems to like the leather looking ones, but wow-good for them, not a lump or bump on their stick thin legs.

They must have had a sale on them somewhere. All of the women were wearing them (except Emily who had on a different version of leggings) in the same brown or black color. Didn’t they go out of style yet? It may be just me, but I weigh 71 lbs and am scared to wear them as I worry that they might be too revealing. Well, that’s why they might be wearing them. To get attention. They also look like they don’t breathe. Some kind of pleather material.
How ever do they decide what to wear in their confessionals? OTT with both their clothes, hair and makeup choices.

  3. Ah gee. That was disappointing, but probably not as much as the Top Rated rider from Sweden that took a tumble. I have to give it to the course designer. These are big and wide jumps. A true test of ability. Kudos to NBC who finally showed a scheduled equestrian event on time!

  4. Well it’s 4:10 and they are showing 3X3 Women’s Basketball.
It’s obvious that Equestrian events are not important to NBC.
Even went to the Peacock app and it’s the same thing. I’m leaving it on in case.
Riding horses at the Olympic level is a very very expensive sport. Millions are spent on the horses alone. You’d think with that kind of dosh involved that they’d give it more attention. I think one of the reasons they did in the Tokyo Olympics was because Bruce Springsteen’s daughter Jessica was riding in it and the celebrity status gave it more weight. She got a lot of press and hence more coverage.**I do not wish to take anything away from the fact that she does have talent and is a very good rider**  She deserved to be seen; as do the other competitors.

  5. Most of these women could be very pretty if they embraced their natural selves. The Ozempic and lip filler has distorted Theresa’s face. Marge’s teeth are too white…were they done to match her hair? Dolores needs a better hair and make up person if she uses one at all. She really is naturally pretty. I wonder if Paul isn’t getting that divorce so he doesn’t have to marry her. I thought Danielle looked pretty walking into Rails. Melissa is the most naturally done (agreeing with @ww92).
I liked Jennifer A in the early seasons, but now she’s much too full of herself. I’d like to know more about Bill sleeping in the pool house.
I’m going to stop here as what I have to say is nothing new or kind. I’m just glad it’s over. Oh wait…there some kind of follow up show next week. How many times can you rehash this nonsense? The only thing I’m interested in is if Theresa digested that info about Jackie and is now mad at her or going to drop some new dirt on her in retaliation.

I was considering booking a pedicure, mostly for the professional foot scrub, cuticle treatment and nail shaping. I normally just do my own, changing the polish once a week while I watch tv. Every salon I considered offered gel and shellac, and most of their photos showed just those ridiculous talon fingernails.  I couldn't tell if any of them still offered regular old polish that I could remove myself.

    So I passed.

You can get a pedicure from a podiatrist. My friend calls it a medical pedicure, because they’re interested in the heath of your feet and nails. The shape of your toenails is important to prevent ingrown toenails.
Most salons will do a manicure with regular nail polish, but push the gel and shellac options as they make more money.

Anyone else get obsessed with certain foods and eat it until they get tired of it and move on to something else?

My current obsession is breakfast. I like those 4packs (portion control) of 2% active cottage cheese with a Bay's sourdough english muffin or cantaloupe. Keeps me full for a long time. I’m also very liberal with freshly cracked pepper on top of the cottage cheese.

Who do we email to complain about these two idiots?

I did on Twitter (X) and tagged NBC Sports and the Equestrian people running the teams. Lots of people agreed with me that the lack of music and chit chat ruined it for them as well. Hopefully they take note. I may email NBC Sports as well. It ruined what have should have been an entertaining class. My friend in France went to see it. She said it was wonderful. She heard all the music and was spared the commentary save the scores at the end. She felt badly that it blew for me. I said it had nothing to do with her host country. There couldn’t have been a lovelier venue and set up for all these equestrian events.
Today I’m moving on to the Individual Show Jumping which will be shown here on the E channel at 4pm EST. Best wishes for all our athletes.

  9. Yes. That’s driving me crazy too. My friend (she’s French) went to this event today and this broadcast is annoying and not giving me the information needed for me to understand. I’m about ready to give up on it. I have my volume up to hear the music and then Melanie chirps in. How did she qualify to commentate anyway? She rode jumpers and didn’t show in dressage. Cheap lackluster coverage by the network 😡

  10. Question:

The other day when shopping I splurged and bought some mocha Frappuccinos. I was drinking the first one and thought how unusual that there would be grounds in it. Well, it turned out to be a bug. After opening I drank it and did not let the bottle sit open, so I have to surmise that the bug came in the drink. Now do I contact the manufacturer? I did photograph the bottle information and bug. Frankly I think I should be reimbursed and am scared to drink the rest. Any suggestions?

  11. After two clear rounds by the Americans McLain Ward and Karl Cook, we are guaranteed at least a Silver medal in the team jumping. Of note. Cook was our substitute rider. Unfortunately Kent Farmington's horse displayed allergy symptoms and had to be scratched from competition. Cook has gone clean every round. Way to step up Sir. 👏🏻

  12. The Team finals are just starting on the E. Channel. The course is beautiful and some of the jumps look either tall (vertical) or wide (oxer). I Love the grape themed obstacle. Very French. Off to watch as it’s on now…

  13. I’m currently watching. I’m seeing a weird looking jump they are calling the wall (the second one after the water jump) that shows a picture of a couple on it. Does anyone know who?

The venue, the courses, the jumps, everything has been 'the best ever'. It will be hard to look at other venues after Versailles!

True. It will force other countries to up their game. I just wish there was more television coverage of riding in general.

  15. Tonight (afternoon our time) IMG_2577.thumb.jpeg.674b023c604205ce89491bef6b4a950c.jpegbegins the qualifying for the stadium jumping. I’m rooting for McLain Ward. I used to ride with his Dad Barney. I’m grateful they have coverage on the E channel from 4-6. I hate when I just get clips of the winners. I like to watch the whole class. I’m also interested to see what the jumps will look like tonight. I thought the French had some nice ones on the cross country portion of the 3 Day Eventing.

  16. Bad news. Today was the team and individual qualifying for Dressage. Unfortunately for U.S. rider  Marcus Orlob, blood was spotted by a judge (as he was riding in the ring) and his horse Jane was disqualified. That doesn’t bode well for our team (now short a rider) competition. Denmark and Great Britain now lead.
How sad to get all that as only to get pulled out of competition.

Get ready for the real dressage, it's going to be amazing!

You may especially like the Freestyle dressage on Sunday. That’s when they pair their movements to the music of their choice to make a dance between the horse and rider. It’s usually a lot of fun to watch.
